I had issues with the remote initially, but called TCL and they promptly sent a new one. I love the app display and the item choices. The Roku TV’s are great. Lots of options. My mother turned around and bought the 43” TCL for herself.

This tv is easy to set up to network and Roku and works perfect. I have it hanging in my garage. Wife watches it on treadmill and I watch it while playing darts.

After installation the television worked great....for 5 days only. After that the television won't turn on. After calling TCL they are arranging to have the unit fixed. Not even to replace it. I'm extremely disappointed.

Picture quality is amazing....even,more impresive is the light weight of the TCL brand makes wa) mounting a breeze. Saved roughly $80 on a wall mount...was able to use a simplier, less expensive, wall mount due to product very light weight...the Onn brand wall mount from walmart works perfect! (Depending on size tv you buy).... Only bad spec is the crappy speakers!!!! But dont let that stop you...it makes up for it w/ awesome pix quality and roku is simple!!!!!

If you want an inexpensive TV while contemplating whether or not to unplug from cable or satellite it's a good choice.
You have to keep in mind that these low end TV's might not last very long maybe somewhere in the vicinity of 5 years give or take a few years. Often it isn't the picture that gives out but something to do with the power supply dying. That was the case with the TV I just replaced . a low end Insignia TV . It still had a very good picture but wouldn't power on at the end.
Since it is 1080p picture quality shouldn't be an issue with all but the very discerning among us that might take issue even with minor details on 1080p picture quality.
For those of you looking to unplug cable and satellite, the main problem with Roku is the free content they offer ,which I'd have to say is bad. Maybe it's that way with all services like Roku. That I couldn't tell you. But if you subscribe to cable or satellite basically to get sports packages or good movies you're out of luck thinking you can get the same things for free on Roku . There's not a single channel on Roku that will give you good movies from the last few years as good as TNT/TBS or any of the FX channels that you get from a satellite or cable provider.
The good news is you can still get good movies for a monthly subscription to Netflix or the major sports packages from MLB,NFL etc through Roku.
If watching the news or cartoons for your kids is your thing Roku is a little better. But most of the free stuff on Roku is junk aimed at specific small audiences.
Another good thing about Roku is that you can mirror things from your home computer on your TV. This is from an app usually included in most recent windows based laptops. I can't speak for how it works for Macs. I would make sure your computer has Miracast before you make this purchase otherwise its smart TV capabilities will not be fully utilized. There are adapters called dongles that range from anywhere from $15-$75 to fix that.
I'm not the most tech savvy guy probably like most of you and you can link your phone to Roku also but I'm lost on that subject.
If you decided to unplug completely and only pay for things you really want or local channels Roku is a good choice but you have to figure out if your subscriptions from Roku will be less than your cable or satellite bill which i think it will be if you don't get too many subscriptions because you still have to pay extra from cable/satellite providers for sports packages and movie channels.
If you do unplug then you also have to know you you will need an antenna to get local channels and spend money and time setting it up.
It's my humble opinion that cable and satellite TV will be dinosaurs in the not too distant future and the sooner you take advantage of better ways to watch the content you want to watch rather than just what cable and satellite gives you, the better.
This TV with Roku is the 1st step in the right direction.

I've been using a Roku and an old 32" bedroom TV for the last 5 or so years and I've never had any issues, when it comes to selection of streaming apps you can't beat Roku. When it was time to upgrade I went with this TV and it's been great. It's nice not to have to use 2 different remotes for the Roku and the TV, and it has enough ports for everything. Picture and audio quality are pretty decent, nothing special but the audio can get quite loud (I keep it around 20-25% and that's more than enough). Highly recommend for a bedroom or spare room TV, and it's tough to beat that price for what you're getting.

So far I am very happy with this TV. I needed a 40" for the cabinet I have. I already have Roku devices which I like, so it is nice to have it built into the television. It was very easy to set up. Picture is nice. Sound is ok - typical for a flat screen TV but I have a sound bar hooked to it Price was good also, paid about $220.

We bought this TV for our basement so we could stream exercise videos to get back in shape. It turned out to be so nice that we actually swapped it out with the Insignia we were using as our primary TV.
It was very easy to set up and it is also easy to use.
The sound is fine - even when not connected to our sound bar. The picture quality is pretty good - but not great. There are sometimes issues with "ghosts" when the color palette is in a certain range of dark colors. But for the price we paid We are very happy.

Pleasantly surprised! Amazing TV! We've usually only purchased Sony or Samsung TVs in the past, but I've been reading up on newer TVs a lot and this TCL brand has a lot of great qualities with happy customers and reviews, so we decided to give it a try for a second TV in case it wasn't all is cracked up to be. Much to our amazement, we seriously LOVE this TV! We're thinking of replacing the big living room TV with another TCL because we're very impressed! We are not easily impressed either. The picture quality is fabulously clear! We are sensitive to bright light at night, so we wanted to be able to dim it. We changed some factory settings and now it's perfect and we can easily change it from light to dark depending upon what time of day! We don't like certain motions that can make you a little dizzy with some TVs when watching something quick moving but this was great. We read bad reviews about their remote control, but we absolutely LOVE IT being simple because we only watch internet streaming movies (no cable or TV service), so this remote is perfectly simple and has everything we need! The app for a smartphone is genius because you can control your TV, you can plug in headphones, change the channel or lower the volume if your spouse has the remote and you don't want to get up to get it, and much more! Like I said, we're really enjoying this TV!

The is TV is what you expect for the price, but much more. The picture quality and sound is great. The ROKU and TV systems are very responsive and easy to navigate. Setup was easy and quick. I bought this for my sons room and didn't want to spend a lot. He loves it. No cable connection its all Wi-Fi and connected to streaming service. Router is downstairs and the picture is great!

This is a great television for the money. Purchased this tv for the kids room to replace an old Sony lcd. Its a smart tv that has Netflix, Hulu, amazon prime video, youtube, pandora plus I can download a number of other apps. Roku TV is super fast and responsive unlike other interfaces I've used. Only slight negative for me (although I don't currently use it much) is not having numbers on the remote. This makes it hard to change channels.

THIS IS MY SECOND TCL TV THAT I'VE BOUGHT. WE LOVE THE BRAND, VERY USER FRIENDLY. WE HAVE A 40INCH, AND A 65INCH. MY JOB HAS ALL TCL TV'S. GREAT CHEAP BRAND. IT HAS A MUCH BETTER PICTURE THAN SONY, AND SAMSUNG. TRY IT FOR YOURSELF. PLUS THE STAFF AT BEST BUY ARE AWESOME AT HELPING OUT WHEN NEEDED. FYI.. I GOT THEIR MOUNT SERVICE FOR MY 40IN. IT LOOKS SUPER NICE MOUNTED. THE MOUNT GUY IS SUPER GOOD AT HIS JOB. STU IS THE MAN IF YOU CAN REQUEST HIM, YOU WON'T REGRET IT. THIS IS THE SECOND ONE THAT STU HAS HUNG FOR US. WORTH THE PRICE.

I needed a smart tv for my patio as I have no cable or wifi out there and found this one. The price was right and the reviews were good so I thought I would give it a shot. To my pleasant surprise I love the TV. The only thing I can say I do not love is the sound could be a little better but I do have it on the outdoor patio. The TV is very easy to use and set up and the picture is great overall I would highly recommend it

This is a great brand of tv. I had not heard of TCL until recently when the sales person at Best Buy recommended it. The picture on the tv is better than on a lot of other brands I’ve seen. Since my original purchase I have purchased a total of three TCL TVs. Nice having Netflix, sling and Hulu all at your fingertips. Easy to use as well. The only con is the mute button on the side. It’s east to hit by accident
