We really like our 55" TCL Television. Great picture, good sound, thin and light. Setup is easy and if you throw a Jump drive on it you can pause live TV. Easy to use remote lets you get to Netflix and Prime video quickly and easily. I now have to fight my Teenagers to use this TV.

This is a great TV. The picture quality is outstanding for the price. I paid $399 when it was on sale. There was not enough difference between this and the 6-series to justify the extra $200+. The Dolby Vision and HDR on this TV is immaculate. You will not be sorry. Especially if you are a cord cutter and rely on Roku apps for your viewing pleasure.

Since our less than 2 year old Insignia TV quit showing a picture we had to purchase a new one. I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase this TCL 5 series. Just a great TV in our price range and in our opinion a much better picture. The Insignia would not allow us to cast up to it from Windows 10 on our laptop or phone. The TCL does this with no problem. We would have liked to have the voice activated remote as my husband has advanced Parkinson's and it would have been good for him. But for us not worth the extra $200 we would have to pay. Maybe someday we can purchase a second remote that would work with this TV. We love streaming through Roku but a lot of the time we watch local programming on our cable TV that we pay for through our rent. This TV somehow made our crappy cable picture much better. . Some of the complaints about light streaks from the side because of the thinness of the TV is just not an issue, we haven't noticed any. Sound is good too, we do have to turn it up on some of the movies on Netflix or Prime, not a problem. This time we purchased the extended protection plan. The experience of having to replace a less than 2 year old TV makes a protection plan good advice.

Great picture for the price. Cheap remote. More than likely will buy a better remote from ROKU that uses the internet instead of infrared. Other than than the remote, no complaints. Tv is thin and light. Adjusted the picture using consumer reports recommendations. No issues with internet and streams YouTube tv flawlessly.

I don't usually shop on black Friday but went looking for a specific TV. A store rep asked what I was looking for and recommended this TV instead. He then got and and checked us out and helped get it to the car, all in 15 minutes! The TV itself is fantastic. Easy to use remote and lots of great extras. Picture is fantastic. Sound is decent

This is a great tv with a fantastic picture. The only issue I have is a memory issue with Netflix which crashes Netflix on launch. I have to unplug the tv for 10 seconds and plug back I. To get Netflix to work properly. The ARC-3 HDMI connection makes use a snap, and I simplified my dvd, tv, and receiver setup. So easy to use. Very intuitive.

I wasn't sure what kind of TV I wanted to buy but knew that I wanted the latest features on it. I wanted the best and brighter colors, HDR, as well as a larger size for my home. The sales rep at Best Buy was awesome and knew each TV brand and their qualities. The colors are amazing, we installed it, and really have enjoyed the TV.

My 12 year old $1,800 Samsung bit the dust. So this is my first 4K. I bought a Vizio E series first. No complaints but because their app handling is limited on the TV itself meant having to use two remotes and my wife freaked. Back to the store. My decision came down to series 6 or 5 TCL. The 6 had great performance reviews but worried me due to random panel issues. I really could not see any difference between the 5 and 6 in the store and what are you going to compare it to when you get home? Pros: great picture, stunning. Roku operating system is simple , complete, flexible and my wife gets to use one remote. I've had the TV over a month now and no complaints. Cons: picture too red out of the box. Took a couple days to calibrate to my taste. The remote is definitely line of site. If having internet remote or voice control is important you can download the Roku app onto any device or spend $30.00 more and buy the 5 series from any other retailer. At the time of my purchase the 55" 5 series was $150.00 less than the 6. Take that difference and put it towards a nice sound bar. Now you've really got something

Looking to cut the cord and this 55" Smart TV fit everything I wanted. Roku TV, 4K UHD, 2160p picture is cotton candy for the eyes. Only negative is the warning I got to be very careful handling the TV as the screen could crack if grabbed in the wrong way. Other than that great price and so far a great TV.

I went in to buy a budget TV to replace a 42" TV I had in the bedroom that was hit by lightning. When I saw I could get a 4k smart TV with Roku at this price point I was really surprised. They had one on display and the image quality was great. Having Roku built in is awesome. When my Visio TVs go I will be replacing with TCL.

There is so much balkanization when it comes to smart TVs and streaming services. Lately it seems few have all of Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Youtube. I wanted all three integrated, without buying another device, and concluded that integrated Roku was how I would get them. I also wanted a TV that would be easy for one person to get home because I wanted a TV that would easy for one person to pick up if I ever need to get rid of it. Even in the box the TV is very light. While it was a bit too wide to fit in an upright position in the back seat of my car, the Bestbuy guys who loaded it for me told me it was safe to transport in truck laid flat. I've read that this is not true for some TVs, but they assured me that if I took it slow and didn't hit any bumps it would be fine. And so it was. The TV made it home with no flaws. Less than 20 minutes later, including unboxing, putting the legs on, and setting up for the internet, I was watching streaming TV. The Roku operating system has complete control over the TV. I also liked that this TV has both wired and wireless networking connections. I am using the wired connect right now.

We were introduced to the TCL at family members house. Chose the 4K TV w 240Hz refresh. Great picture and colors. 3 HDMI’s. There is a white LED on lower center that flashes when apps need updates. ROKU interface is nice. Simple for non technical people. Only quirk is upgrading apps, it’s a few clicks on the settings.

I am super picky about tv’s. I have bought about 4-5 this year and had to return due to the quality of the picture. I had expected to do the same with this one. I have never heard of this brand, but when I went tv searching and saw how much better this tv looked up against an LG, Viso, and Samsung, it got me interested so I purchased it. I watch a lot of action and love my 4K Sony 55 inch, Even though the refresh rate is 60 for this model the picture quality on this tv is amazing and I enjoy all my uHD marvel movies on here, the picture detail is amazing and you can see everything. What caught my attention also was the price, you just couldn’t beat it for a 55’ 4K. Side not it is upscale, but does a great job. I feel I like this tv more then my $1200+ Sony that now displays “close due to internal error after about 3 years of use. The only 2 issues that I have with this tv is how small the remote is, as it always gets lost in our bed sheets, and also when I have hooked up my Sony sound bar I am unable to get the full sound that I want. Other then that it’s a hidden gem.

I was looking for a reasonably priced TV for a secondary use. I saw this in the store while shopping for a similar Samsung, LG, Sony TVs. First I saw the 4 series TCL and the problem with that was low build quality (or at least cheap-looking) then I saw this model with a great price. You get 120hz refresh rate, wide color gamut, and a great price. I have been very satisfied with the picture quality for just under $500. The quality is higher than LG 6300 and similar to the 2016 model Samsung 6290. However, other newer models like NU7100 give more vivid color and better picture quality. A bang for the buck with this price.

I was skeptical about TCL when looking for a new TV. I have vizio, Samsung, and Panasonic plasma. Was looking for a lower cost TV to place in our pool house. Did the research online and found that many of the blogs and tech sites were praising the TCL so we thought we would give it a try. Picture quality was good. I looked up settings on line to calibrate based on what others had done and it greatly improved. Features are fine, Mounting was no different that any of the others. The fit and finish were not quite as fine but its a tv not a watch. Only complaint I have is in the remote. So, I knew it was a roku box and we are operating on Direct tv being we live fairly remote and no other options except satellite. Have not been able to get the DirecTV remote to perform all functions the TCL remote does. Have to turn it on and the hit the satellite button before it will go to DirecTV. This is an inconvenience but for the price, we can defintely live with it. It may be the settings that I have yet to figure out but other than that,if you are working in a budget, can't go wrong.
