This movie was truly amazing! Very well done and watching it on a 75 inch screen in blu ray was a definite plus. A must see film!!

This movie tells a part of U.S. history that many are uncomfortable with, slavery. It will no doubt anger you with how African americans were treated by European americans. I won't spoil the story so i will say the acting is great, the directing by Nate Parker is very good and the cinematography & music is great as well. The story of Nat Turner is important and should be seen...

Birth of a nation is an important part of history that everyone should be aware of. It provides an inside look at the destruction of slavery to all people and how important it is to never go back. The story was very well told in this movie and I would highly recommend it.

"BIRTH OF A NATION" is such a definitive and distinct must-have for my Black history collection DVDs. Absolutely loved this truth-telling adaptation of real Black-American history! Brutal, but true-to-life history...!!

This dvd does service to this classic tale of a rebel against the evil system. Extras on the dvd give even greater depth to the stories. Illuminates a story most have never heard and too many are scared to hear.

This film covered the demoralizing and inhumane treatment of slaves. The situations that led Nat Turner to behave in the manner he did are seldom addressed , but this film makes it perfectly clear.

This is definitely not a remake of the D. W. Griffith film. I don't believe it follows the William Styron novel either. But it is well acted and directed. Very engaging and enjoyable.

I always get my movies from Best Buy because they are priced reasonably well. I love this movie. It's something you wouldn't see in the history books, but a major part of history.

The movie, The Birth of a Nation is a very entertaining movie. I would definitely recommend the purchase of this movie.

Well done film. Based on true story, a sad part of history.

Those of us who have earnestly studied history, this event in American history has always been a fascinating turning point in the history of slavery in the US. So, watching it portrayed on the big screen, even with the condensed time line, drove home the importance of this film for all Americans to see. This event was the motivation for the beginning of the most restrictive ordinances to exercise absolute control of African American slaves that later were revived to be the base of the Jim Crow laws of the post civil war. The film gives us a vivid look into the life on a plantation, not unlike 12 Years a Slave, which was one of privation and often of sadistic degradation. On a different line, I was overjoyed that this production took the title it did and reclaimed something from a period of our history that was very dark and a film that was nothing more than propaganda for the KKK.

Excellent movie that looks really good and super sharp in 4k.
