I thought this game was ok, i really enjoy creating my character and fighting, but it takes so long to get to places when your walking or riding a horse, the hitting is lame, i would of liked to have combos with the weapons. the magic is lame, the firing off of the magic like ice or fire is so plain, i think they should of made it much better than they did, the missions can be vauge and it can be hard to find the place your looking for. I really didnt like that if you pick up things that you have a wieght limit that you can carry, and that the more things you carry the slower you walk. When you get into a town it is very boring, there is never any action, i would of liked to see fights or a siege going on when you get into certain towns

this game is a one player rpg. ive played it some and it was pretty cool, the controls are alot better than the controls were for morrowind. now you can actually hit guys. the graphics are pretty good, like most 360 games. the only thing bad about the game is the fact that if you get into it, which if you are a gamer you will, your online freinds are going to be begging you to come back to your computer to fight a boss or something, so you may lose youre social life. my freind spent over 50 hours on that game, and that was without the expansion. this is an original game though, no rip-off

    One Awesome & Engrossing Game

With the most awesome graffics I've ever seen in a game, you'll explore an amazing world where every outcome depends upon the personal choices you make. Every path you take is your own, beginning with the character you create for yourself when you first start out. There's a basic quest to get you going...but you don't have to follow it in any particular order. And the game doesn't end when that quest's completed. I've heard some people say they don't like it too much, because they get bored in the beginning. But I've been playing it for literally months now, and I'm still enjoying it. It does take a little bit of time at first to get your character trained to advance up in skill levels. But once you start moving up a little, the game gets a whole lot more interesting. I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone who enjoys playing action RPG's and enjoys getting totally immersed in another world. This is by far my favorite game. There are expansions you can buy or download to add even more adventures to your game as well. I do hope its creators decide to make another sequel to it. Its one incredible game whether you've played "Morrowind-The Elder Scrolls" first or not. The Elder Scrolls is this game's older cousin...an X-Box Game, which is also compatible with this X-Box 360. You owe it to yourself to play that one too.

This game has amazing graphics and hundreds of hours of game play. You can spend hours on side quests, which is great, but you are easily distracted from the main quests. This game is so amazing that if you have a significant other at home, you might want to wait until s/he goes away on a business trip before you buy, b/c you won't see her/him for awhile!

    The Greatest Adventure

This is a beautiful game. The forest and fields are filled with secrets and monsters while the towns are filled with beautiful buildings and castles. There are people walking around all over and many of them have their own routines. People will interact with you in many different ways. Everything feels alive. Leveling up is lots of fun. If you simply keep doing something you'll get better at it. I like to run around and jump to random locations so my character got really fast and can jump real high. This game is very long. I've put in over 100 hours and I can still find things to do. Of course if you don't have that kind of time it's still great just to play once in a while and continue your adventure. You can also do whatever you want. You can follow the main story and save the world or you can just go around killing people or whatever else you choose to do.

    Best RPG

Oblivion was game of the year back in 2005-2006 and it still should be because of how good the game still is. The storyline is pretty neat and not that long but its still cool. The side quests that there are in the game and the sheer amount that u can do like going to the Arena, Dark Brotherhood, Fighters Guild, Mages Guild, and Thieves guild...all of them fun in their own way. Then there are some cool side quests where theres involvments with vampires which u really dont wanna be a vampire a lot of the times since u can only really come out at night unless if u bight someone prior to the day. The graphics and weapons are just amazing in the game as long as some of the enemies dont get that boring to kill except for a select few like Imps. If u want a good Free Roaming RPG game then oblivion is definatly ur fix.

    Best RPG, Bar None

Very rarely does a RPG match ES4:Oblvion's depth, length of play, graphics, or sound. I have been playing the game for months and I'm still only about half through it. This is the game's blessing and curse; at times it almost feels too long. The graphics are top notch (although longer load times and minor frame rate drops are some of the sacrifices you make) and the sound is fantastic (ambient sounds, especially in the wilderness, such as bird and cricket chips, immerse you into the world of Oblivion). A few minor technical glitches can make certain quests frustrating and force you to figure out how to complete a quest in a way other than the game designers intended. Other than those minor issues, this is by far the best RPG I have ever played on any system and is a staple game to any Xbox 360 owner's game library.

One of the Best RPGs available

Oblivion is the latest chapter in the Elder Scrolls series, and I would say it is the best by far. The graphics are fantastic, especially outside of the cities in the forests. There are tons of quests to do, and many paths for your character to take (good, evil, etc), and what lifestyle you choose has a bearing on what quests you have the chance to attempt. There's SO much to do, I know that some people can get overwhelmed because it's not obvious in the very beginning what to do. I just recommend talking to a few people and you'll find your first quest. Because of the branching nature of the game, you can play it four-five-even six times and still not see everything. There are even two expansions, Knights of the Nine, and Shivering Isles to do when you're finished!

Truly on of the best RPGs

This is truly an RPG where you get your money's worth. 200+ hours of gameplay, and that is if you try to blaze through the game. A multitude of quest in addition to the main one; also downloadable quests to expand on the storyline. There is no timetable or fixed path. You can do the main quest first then the rest afterwards, or vice-versa. Or if you want, just explore the world. I have done that, just walking around, sometimes getting lost, and yes, even watching the sun rise or set. Also characterization to fit the player's mind set. I am more of a stealth player, so the thief was more my style. And at this new price, even more of an incentive for the uninitiated to dive in; or course the only minus, if you can call it that, is the lack of multiplayer. But who knows, maybe that is what Betheseda is cooking up next!

Great game that will occupy you for hours. There are so many different choices of what do do, how to do, and when to do. You can easily beat the game in 30 hours straight but could spend innumberable hours doing side quests which are a lot of times more fun and very challenging (nothing like setting up the head of the Imperial Guard to get reassigned).

A FPS/RPG game that gives that sense of freedom.

After finally letting myself to play their 4th installment, it was a choice that I would never regret. For playing over a 100 hours worth of side quests and main other things you can actually do, this is a definite game to buy for your 360 if you enjoy RPGs. In Oblivion, it's your choice to go through the main quest where Oblivion gates are opening up around the land and causing havoc among the citizens in the area. Gameplay is like most of the Dungeons and Dragons (Or the same genre) games, acting it as a RPG, but in FPS mode. In the beginning you can immediately customize your character from every detail noticeable (Nose, neck, race, you name it.) There are many ways to deal with enemies, be it in stealth, or head-on attacks. These attacks can come in a range of sword/axe/mace fighting, or using bow and arrows from far away. What's also useful is to have a shield on your other hand to deflect arrows and blows as soon as they land them, giving you a chance to strike them in a counter-attack. Not only that, but there's even magic in this game to master as well! When you put your target on an enemy, you can also see their health to see if your weapons or magic are doing any good against them. In this RPG, the way how you level up your skills is to constantly use them whenever you can (I.E: Bow mastery is leveled up by hitting enemies with the bow and arrow. The more you level up the mastery, the more). However, this causes players to actually "farm" their skills to master it to 100. You can choose your main skills (up to 7) that will level up faster, and choose your class to get extra abilities, but it's still a long way to go for some players. With all that above, these many abilities and skills can be used any way you want to, literally. You can attack the guards if you want, and you actually get sent to jail! Or if you refuse to head in quietly with a fee, you will fight them to the death. Doing various acts can cause a rise or fall of your karma status, causing other NPCs to view if you're a bad or good person in general when you first meet them. Graphics are amazing in this game. The way how Oblivion manages to fit an entire country in your screen is to pre-load one section at at time before you enter another one, so there will be slight pauses of loading textures if you rush to another place. Each time you go into a house, it will come to a load screen as well. Every detail on all potions, books, weapons, and fruits are detailed on the ground and on any object they may reside on. The effects of when you get knocked around during a fight are also realistic, staggering back and trying to get your footing once more. If you wanted to, you can also go in a 3rd person view of your character and walk around in that view. There are also amazing spell effects, but the more powerful versions of the other spells will just cast the same animation. Sound is a high as well. Hearing the ambient music while looking over a mountain of the land you just climbed is just an astounding experience. All of the NPCs will also taunt or help you in various situations. There is a lack of voice actors, however, so you will hear the same voice over and over for some humans/non-human NPCs. Other various sound effects include running through water and hearing the deathly environment in the Oblivion lands. With all that in mind, there a few gripes I had with this game. The way you level up is by first upgrading your primary skills, then taking a nap. What's annoying is that as soon as you pass a level cap, all the monsters (Anywhere) will level up with you with better equipment. Another problem was that no matter how much good karma you possess, their "attitude" won't improve at all. Just getting negative karma will lower that number all the time, causing you to tell "jokes" to them constantly until their mood is acceptable for them to talk to you. Still, this is a great game to buy. Various side quests and the main quest will draw you in to hours and hours of gameplay!

I have played many RPGs and this one of the best. Just making your guy can take any where from 30 seconds to 30 mins. In a good way. The game play is vary open and there are vary few limits. You can play for days and not even touch the main quest. The world is open and full of FUN things to do. The grafics are nice and the music complaments the area your in. Now if you have Xbox Live you might not like this so much. Why? because there is no muiltplayer. And i find it hard to play when people are sending me invites to other games.

At first when I played Oblivion I did not get what was going on. There is so much in the game that you always lose the main plot of the game. I've seen people that put more than 700 hours of gameplay into Oblivion and still have plenty of time to put into the game. I started the game again and i cannot get enough of it. There is so much to do it seems like forever untill you beat everything there is to offer. I recommend this game because it will keep you entertained and also takes a very long time to beat....

    Oblivion is hours of fun

Oblivion is hours and hours of fun filled adventure. This is like an MMORPG without all the "real" people messing it all up. Graphically Oblivion is very nice, with a huge map to roam including Forrest areas, lakes, rivers, hidden dungeons throughout the land. The villagers have emotions that you can change and make people like you more/less. You can ride horses, shoot bows, cast spells. This game has everything. You can join a number of different guilds which you can advance in over the course of the game. You can build your character from appearance to special skills to what sign it was born under. All of these decisions effect how your game progresses. Doing things make you better at them. For an example the more you fire a bow, the better you get at it and the more damage it starts doing. Same with anything else, jumping, defending, using magic, everything. This game has a very comprehensive storyline to it as well, during the game you can branch off and do one of the literally hundreds of side quests that are in the game as well. You can even buy and decorate a house in every town. The only really bad things about this game are the fact that the end of the storyline gets really repetitive, so much so that you may have to play another game for a few weeks before you start in on it again. The other thing is all this room in the game and there is not even a co-op mode. I think this would have made the game a classic. I understand why, but it would be nice is all to have at least co-op. Achievements are pretty straight forward. You will get them by advancing through the game and the guilds and that is about it. This is a great buy and I recommend it to anyone who likes RPG.
