I had to get this collection. I will probably continue to buy everyone that comes out. I know that this movie came with mixed revies but I enjoyed it very much. As far as the collection goes, every 'chapter' of the movie comes with its own disk and two extras. No digital codes were included, as promised. Everything else supposed to be there, was included. The picture quality was nice too. I am a big fan of the Hobbit and LOTR. They make me happy. Not much does. Smaug was great. I left out a star for missing codes.

These are classics and a great companion to LOTR. They look fantastic upscaled nearly 4K quality. Definitely glad to have this trilogy.

The movie collection was priced pretty good. I've always enjoyed these films.

We received the movies within four days of purchase, which was nice. However, the DVD case for the first movie was broken: the top of the spine was cracked through and the disk holder was broken at the spine, allowing for it to slide around the case. The center part for one of the disks was also broken, allowing one of the disks to slide freely in the case and resulting in some minor scratches. The other two cases seem to be in better condition, but definitely not worth what I paid.

a must have for LOTR fans, great extras and features.

The Hobbit could've been done in one movie. That being said these movies were still very enjoyable. Big LOTR nerd here.

Because it was on sale and that i’m a big Lord of the Rings fan, i needed this for my collection! I love the the extra content that this version has to offer! If this goes on sale and you’re a Tolkien fan, this is a must have!

While the Hobbit movies weren't as well reviewed as Lord of the Rings, the effort they put into the Appendixes that tell the story of how the movies were made in over 10 hours of extras are unbelievably entertaining. You get a deep understand of the filming and the characters behind the film. It made watching the movies again all the more enjoyable.

Good movie, well made with a good storyline! I think the LOTR trilogy is also a good set to purchase. Yes, get them all 4K HD and extended versions!

This has the extended versions of all 3 films plus hours of extras. Love the whole Mythology of Middle earth and this fills in some of the gaps (although it re-imagines a lot of Tolkein's novel) to explain the origins of some of the Lord of the Rings plot points. The packaging takes up less space than the DVD version but includes everything. I was lucky to catch it on sale and saved $20.00!

I love the entire series of LOTR, but this masterpiece is awesome. I love the extended versions, it gives you more of an understanding of what actions lead up. I would definitely recommend this set.

I had the theatrical versions of the first 2 hobbits and thought I had the 3rd but couldn't find it so it was a good time to purchase the trilogy, especially since my others weren't extended versions. My 3 daughters watched this time around and my 10 year old said that they are her favorite movies now. Love it.

We have really enjoyed this extended edition of The Hobbit and look forward to making watching it a yearly tradition with our family.

So glad i was able to find these! I missed out on the extended editions when they released. To find them was worthwhile!

My collection of The Middle Earth series is now complete. Happy to add these editions to my lord of the rings editions.

I had them when they came out on blu ray and I gladly bought them again when they released extended versions and I have to say they really move the story more even if it’s little bits! This is my favorite trilogy NOT the lord of the rings like everyone else. This is more character driven.
