Classic Zelda but with a bit of a twist. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to borrow your items. I just thought it was a bit silly considering that it's never been a problem in the past.
But the sliding into the walls is awesome. I love the 3DS and Zelda is just always a win.

Picked this up for my GF, but the second she beats it, I'm snatching it back to give it a go myself. Imagine a classic Zelda game from the SNES days, if the developers, in their early '90s design state of mind, were given no limits on technology. THIS is the game they woulda made. Bubbly character design, multi layered layouts for the map, and classic sounds. It also has the best use of 3D I've seen on the system, which is to show DEPTH in the environment and NOT to have stupid things like top hats thrown at the screen. Listen, this is getting excessive. If you own a 3DS and DON'T have a copy of this game, it better be for reasons out of your control, like funds, or it's out of stock. If you just don't ~care~ for Zelda games, you are missing out.

A Remixed Classic

The Legend of Zelda a Link Between Worlds is both a sequel to and remix of the classic SNES title a Link to the Past. It's the same world, aged a little bit but with all the major landmarks and lay of the lands the same as the were in the first game.
It also takes advantage of the 3DS hardware by turning Link... 2D! That may sound counterintuitive but giving Link the ability to turn into a 2D painting on the wall and rotating the view from the classic top down perspective while in 2D mode unlocks vast new areas to explore hidden inside old dungeons, creates awesome new puzzles and interesting boss fights.
The controls feel much smoother this time around than in the classic Link to the Past. Perhaps that lends itself to the biggest downside I found in that the game is pretty easy. Combat has barely challenged me, it's been pretty obvious how to beat most bosses, oh well I like puzzle games more than action anyway.
