This Science Fiction Movie Is Definitely Worth Watching. The main character Matt Damon puts on a show for the ages. It's definitely one of his best performances yet. Highly Recommend!!! 10/10

This is one of my absolute favorite movies involving isolation. The space travel is an added bonus. A few years back, I went into this movie fairly blindly (I never saw any previews for it, nor did I do any extensive research on it or read any reviews. I also had no clue that it was based off of a book). I am a Matt Damon fan, so I knew his acting would certainly deliver, and I was absolutely right. After the very first time I watched this film, I watched it again just a few days later because I enjoyed it so much. For me, that’s rare. This film was great in 1080p, but I am certain that if you ever watch it in 4K that you will never want to see it any other way, especially the extended version. The colors pop, the story is unimaginably engaging from start to finish and has a wonderful mixture of comedy (the ‘The Lord of the Rings’ reference in the presence of Sean Bean is grand) and heartwarming moments that will leave you thinking about things for hours to come after you finish the film, and everything in between.

Story was ok little slow but still ok nice to watch on 4k TV comes with digital code also ..

This movie is well done and great story. Looks awesome in 4K!

One of my favorite movies and I really enjoy sharing it with freinds. Looks and sounds fantastic on 4K UHD disc. Purchased this copy from Bestbuy during their early Black friday sale, had to own it on 4K disc.

This was interesting take on how to survive, at least for a little while, on Mars. Matt Damon did an excellent job portraying an astronaut trying to survive and get rescued from Mars. Novel things like growing food, working on different parts of machines and combining them to help his cause. There are lots of interesting bits tied into the plot that make this movie a bit different than other space movies. I don't want to spoil the ending, but that is enough to watch film. Lastly it is a bit long. I had to pause and come after stretching out my legs!

This 4K Ultra high Definition Disc is very impressive. Immediately with the first scene in the movie you notice the vivid and deep colors of the Mars landscape and the sharpness of the astronauts space suits. The High Dynamic Range is excellent and consistent the entire movie. colors are deep and vivid with no black crush or white blooming.Colors are true and flesh tones look natural. The Atmos sound is immersive and bass is good. The film is also a first rate thriller.

I really enjoyed this movie when it first came out and was anxious to see the extended version. There is about 10 minutes of additional footage and to be honest I couldn't tell what was added. The movie's ending is totally unbelievable but by that time we are rooting for everyone anyway. This is an UHD HDR release. Picture quality is noticeably better than the blu-ray. Truly beautiful. The great things about this set is that you have UHD of both the theatrical and the extended versions AND you get both versions in standard blu-ray as well as extras and a digital copy. Well worth the price if you like this flick.

Even if you already had the regular version of The Martian on Blu-ray, you will be really, really happy w/ this upgrade. The extra scenes alone are worth it, but the drastic increase in picture quality with 4K and HDR made this my go-to choice as the first movie to watch after upgrading from a non-4K/non-HDR TV. :)

This is a great, fun film. It's a shame that Best Buy decided to stop selling physical media, or I would buy more things like this.

I am thrilled with this purchase! The Martian was our choice for the first 4K Ultra HD movie we added to our library after upgrading our home theater to 4K. While my husband can and does enjoy 3D movie effects they are wasted on me due to visual problems but this format is so dynamic and visually powerful that even my eyes can see things that take my breath away. Then of course, there is the fact that this is just an amazing movie in format.

Perfect its intense its smartly written and its gorgeous to look at do yourself the favor and watch it on a big screen with surround sound cause it will blow you away.

Great movie, 4k unleashes its full video and audio potential. The ATMOS soundtrack is worth the cost.

One of the best movies I’ve seen. Took an Impossible storyline and made it completely believable. Of what I’ve seen, easily one of Matt Damon’s finest performances.

Incredible sci-fi drama with a great cast. Watched on a simple 4k tv with low budget speakers and sub woofer that I can "get by" with.

Absolutely underrated sci fi film. This film gives you all the feels and then some. What a wonderful ride and so gorgeous. Became one of my favorite films to date.

For those who have yet to purchase, be certain that your 4K/UHD of The Martian has printed on it "The Extended Edition"; as there are two 4K/UHD editions that are available. I prefer this version. Great Ridley Scott film that rounds out his "Alien" and "Blade Runner" films that are also now available on 4K/UHD, with all 3 looking fantastic.

Good Dolby Atmos surround sound - good story, it might be a little slow for some, but I think the pace is good as the story develops and builds.

Awesome movie for those into sci fi and like to have a movie library.
