This is a great movie. Something I didn’t think I would like. Pleasantly surprised. It was packaged very well and arrived in perfect condition.

This is very much a silent film, so our kids did not get it as much as some of the other anime films we have purchased. Regardless, my husband and I found it a beautiful, loving story. Maybe not the best for younger kids, but we really enjoyed the plotline.

This film is abstract, artsy and thought provoking. There’s no dialogue and some of the concepts bring you to question the meaning. I would recommend this movie to the type of person who could appreciate staring at art.

Great movie but don’t go into it expecting the usual from this Ghibli film. Instead of dialogue, this film uses gorgeous images to speak for it.

This was a very unique and interesting movie. There’s nothing spoken. It’s animation and music. Beautiful

The film was beautifully animated. I loved the combination of Studio Ghibli with a French filmmaker. Unfortunately the plot was entirely French. You can read into what happens in the film and perhaps find some messages on life, but while you're watching it you're just waiting for something to happen. I wish there had been more of a plot, but I still don't think it was a waste to watch it once.

For a movie with no words, it was incredible!!!!! I highly recommend it.

I had a huge desire to see this movie ever since I first learned about it last year. Knowing that Studio Ghibli produced it got me very excited, and I had to buy the blu-ray. The style of animation combined with the style of storytelling make for an interesting viewing experience. All Studio Ghibli fans need to watch this.

The Red Turtle is an extraordinary film, a quintessential example of both cinema- and animation-as-art that confidently, gracefully, and definitively straddles that very delicate and very desirable magical line between purpose, presentation, and entertainment value. The film is unique, visionary in its own right, and wide open for interpretation with no wrong serious answers. It will dazzle as it plays and resonate long after it ends.

Language is not a factor in this one man's stranded survival. Although this is an animated film, I question that a child would remain enthralled for one man's silent solo journey or grasp the contemplations and interpretations inherent in the red turtle's significance. However, for a patient adult willing to take a chance on a meditative animated story that reflects on surviving solitude, this might be the project designed for you.

I knew there was no dialogue going into this film, but even though it was great, I had to finish it in 2 sittings.

I'm tempted to say that words cannot describe this movie, in which no real words are spoken. A man is a castaway on an island, he encounters a red sea turtle, then a woman...later the two have a son. A simple fable so beautifully animated that you wish you could go there. This is one those where you keep telling people "You gotta see this movie!".

This one was a unique piece for studio Ghibili, not directed by any of their traditional creator's/director's. None the less a very moving story and brought times of happiness and times of sadness and the drama how people can survive in times of trial and suffering and how in those times you can actually be saved from yourself.

This was a great movie. It was a Sony Pictures film based off the Studio Ghibli films before it that are owned in part by Disney. This is a very visually stunning movie with almost no audio dialogue aside from music and background noise. But with that in mind the movie worked and it sounds stunning.
