A Positive Review Focused On Functionality

To kick off my review I would like to start off by saying that this backpack is very visually appealing and visually versatile. It's also very durable and has been to the beach multiple times without the mesh on the back and shoulder straps being caked with sand, a problem I have had with other backpacks. The pockets on the side of the backpack for water bottles and other items are large enough to hold literally any water bottle I put in them without making the pack feel too heavy on one side. The pockets can also be used to store other items and I have had no problem with them falling out, I usually store a wallet a pack of cigarettes and lighter in one pocket and have never had a single time where the items have fallen out. The outside front pocket can be used to store a tablet, or if you prefer more security (i do this at the beach to avoid getting sand on my iPad) there is an area outside the laptop compartment which can hold my iPad perfectly. The outside front pocket also can hold more than just an iPad, as i keep my iPad in a very thick protective sleeve which you could fit 2 iPads in, as well as a nexus 7 tablet in the same pocket, it may not be the best idea to store an iPad mini or a smaller android tablet in this pocket if you plan on it being the only thing in this pocket because if the pack is turned upside out it may slide out, the sleeve of my iPad keeps my nexus 7 tablet secure and I've never had a problem with anything falling out of this backpack, but its just food for thought as i am trying to post the most informative review i possibly can. The first zipper compartment (closest to your back) is great for storage, i don't carry around 3 laptops at once but i packed up a 15 inch windows laptop, a 13 inch classic macbook pro, and a 13 inch retina macbook pro all comfortably in this one zippered section each one protected from scratching against the other due to the way this zippered section is set up, normally i use this section to store My Macbook Pro Retina 13, Alternate storage for my iPad, and storage for my windows laptop when i carry it around with me, i also keep a folder with envelopes and loose leaf paper in this compartment mostly to shield several thousand dollars worth of electronics from any harder items that i may store in the next pocket so the weight is more evenly distributed, I've always done this with all my backpacks, and its more of a personal preference than anything else. The next zippered section has 2 mesh pockets at the top which are useful for storing my wallet and apple watch when i go to the beach or when i want my wallet to be a little bit more secure, they could also be used to store food like granola bars for snacking, the rest of this compartment is the largest compartment of the backpack which i use to store things that are usually not EDC items, extra changes of clothes, books, bluetooth speaker, sandals, iPad sleeve (when my iPad is in use) and other misc items, This pocket also folds down to reduce the footprint of the pack when not in use. The safety zone with the hard shell is nice and i use it to store a charger brick, earbuds, lightning cable, micro usb cable, car keys, and other smaller items that i may want easy access to. The last zippered compartment behind the open pocket i use to store my tablets is great for carrying a pen/pencil and smaller items. This backpack is one of the best choices if technology is an important part of your EDC, but if you are only carrying one laptop and nothing else i feel like you may be better off with one of the other packs thule offers. If this brand is a little out of your price range i would recommend to look at solo backpacks, maybe even incase which are also well thought out but do not have the same lifespan/durability as Thule's products. Incase may be a better option if you're a college student looking for something that still specifically can accommodate a macbook and iPad, and solo backpacks are also great because they are a lot less expensive than other brands. I thought i would mention the other brands to inform you, both brands are also carried at best buy and are almost always in stock, but if you're serious about EDC and carry a backpack with you literally everywhere you go you may want to stay with Thule brand, i feel like these can easily last a very long time, and they also have a 25 year warranty which shows that they stand behind their products.

I travel through asia and went through air, ground and water. While i believe you can leave your laptop inside, i was still asked to remove it when at the airport security. It has plenty of room for other stuff and did very well when got a bit wet (light rain).

Elegant yet simple...lightweight and is wearing like iron. A great size that enables me to load it up and yet fits under an airline seat with ease. When not loaded, it does not seem that large.

I know, $129???? Well, I must say that I wouldn't normally looked at or much less considered such an expensive backpack, but after carrying one around that was bulky and wearing out 9after 4 years, which is pretty good), I decided that maybe I should look inside the bag and see whats so great. I love having several pockets and designating them for a specific purpose. One pouch keeps all my extra change, some for electronics and cables, and another for sun glasses )comes with a hard case thats removable. Also has slots for pens and pencils and smaller peripherals like pencil led and erasers. Too many things to list. It was also designed for Macbook carry which easily hold my 13" Pro with neoprene case. I also have several slots in the bag that are unused but great to have just in case. The low profile and design of it is great as I hate looking like a ninja turtle from the side. It still protrudes some a bit, but not like most of the others that students are carrying around. The build and materials seem top notch and would be surprised if this doesn't last me at least ten years. I also plan on using it when I travel and go hiking. In summary, this would be one of those cases (pun intended) where you get what you pay for and quality is not spared on this one.

Had a shoulder style laptop bag that wasn't working well for me. Picked this bag up on sale, and it is awesome. Very versatile and plenty of storage options. Decent padding, small profile and comfortable to wear, even for a bigger guy like myself.

This is my second Thule backpack. I like the style, quality and size of the bag. It accommodates all of my gear and I still have extra space. Thule makes good looking and durable bags. I recommend them. The two things that needs work on this bag is the zippers stick so you at time have to use both hands to zip them up. Also, the bag does not stand upright very well, needs more support.

There's enough space in here to fill up a couple lunch boxes and a laptop, along with some books. Plus there's space and some more secure zippers inside the last pocket as well so you can keep flash drives, pens, portable chargers and stuff. Along with the crush proof case for sunglasses at the top, was well worth the purchase.

There are things about this bag to be liked: * Very Lightweight - among the lightest of a whole bunch of bags I was investigating * Several sleeve compartments for tablets and laptops * Several other spacious compartments * Sharp Looking However, I have been a bit frustrated with the bag as it seems to take a long time to get in an out of any of the compartments because the zippers are not very free flowing and instead of helping to align the seam when you zip them, you seem to have to align the seams before you can get it to zip. Very difficult to get in and out of your bag quickly and without two hands.
