The Division is great as both a solo and multiplayer (four-person team maximum) RPG cover-shooter. While it has aspects of FPS games like Call of Duty, you control your avatar in the third person like most popular RPG games. The Division has a realistic combat feel in the sense that you must take cover and plan your strategy. It is an open world, modeled fairly exactly on downtown Manhattan NYC, including sewers and sky scrapers, many of which can be entered and explored. It's not Fall Out 4, and would compare to great RPG post-apocalyptic shooter-type games like State of Decay. Unlike those games where you have a choice to be "good" or "bad" in The Division you work for the Strategic Homeland Security Division and must be good, and can not join any of the criminal factions in the game, though oddly enough you can kill and loot DHS agents in the PVP Dark Zone area, which is separate and is not required for end game play (though there isn't much else to do at the current level cap of 30). One of the most novel things about The Division is the open world is a very realistic depiction - street by street - of downtown NYC. If ever you wanted to plan out an armed ambush in the streets of New York, this is the game for you, as you will spend the majority of game time in such firefights.

This is one of the best games I have ever played. It is highly-immersive and rich with detail. The graphics are out of this world and the game play is amazing! The characters move so realistically. I absolutely love this game!

This game is worth buying if you want a mix of gears of war, GTA and destiny. Gameplay is just like gears of war, have special abilities just like destiny and you can customize the character however you like just as GTA. There is a really great story line to the game but the multiplayer needs improvement which it will in the upcoming free updates. Only downside I see with this game is that you need to have a group of 4 people to be able to grab the exclusive gear in the darkzone area. (Multiplayer free for all)

There were MAJOR issues when I bought the game: Didn't save correctly Ramdom disconnections from servers Fall through map into nothingness at specific points in game =major time invested lost forever The worst part is that there is no time-put feature. Nothing you do can pause the game while on a mission so you can go to the bathroom or something. =major time invested lost forever If you have unlimited free time to waste, this is a great game, I broke it into pieces before I let it take any more of my time...

Been playing this since the beta release, and this game really is more fun than Destiny. You get all the customizations and rpg-ness in the gameplay, but a much more grounded story. Speaking of story, while it's not full in-your-face kind of story telling (you get a quick explanation of whats happened to get to where you are), there is so much more in little things that you find throughout the game that gives you an idea of what happened through different individuals eyes, learning more as you go along. The missions are fun, keeps you on your toes. AI is smart, and forces you to keep moving around, and making much more calculated and tactical decisions, instead of just run and gun it every time. You can play on your own or with your squad (i do wish you could have a bigger squad as opposed to just 4). It gets REAL interesting when you get into the Dark Zone, where you constantly have to watch your back from everyone. Overall a real fun game. Looking forward to whatever tupe of "raid" they bring to the table in the future.

It has been awhile since I've played a game that made me think. "Wow, this feels pretty original!" This game made me do just that. The story may not be groundbreaking (another end of the world/virus epidemic based in new york storyline) but the game play and game modes are very good. The gameplay is 3rd person and is a "cover based" type game (think Gears of War). I love the open world aspect and all the side missions available. You can run around solo doing these missions and collecting gear or you can easily match up with friends or other players to face more difficult missions including the dark zone. The Dark Zone is the refreshing part. It's the pvp+pve multiplayer mode of the Division and is represented by a blocked off chunk of the city. Once you enter, the only people you can trust is yourself and members of your group. There are hard enemies waiting for you but the biggest threat is the other Agents that can go "rogue" and kill you and others to take your equipment you have collected in the Dark Zone. The goal is to get Dark Zone experience, credits and new equipment which you can do by killing AI enemies or... other Agents. Before you can use the equipment you've collected in the "DZ" you must call in an extraction to take it away for sanitizing. Unfortunately, if you die before you can extract the equipment in your dark zone backpack these items can be taken by others. Extractions show up on the map so it attracts both AI and other Agents, be prepared to defend yourself! I have spent many hours playing this game and I'm still hooked on it. There are scheduled updates coming soon to expand it even further for free plus paid DLC coming as well. The only real CON(s) about this game are the tiny bugs and glitches you may run across from FPS drops, random freezing, etc. But it still hasn't chased me away and see them fixing many of them soon. If these weren't present I would've given it 5 stars. Overall, I highly recommend this game to any type of gamer but be warned. The language is very adult orientated so it is not for kids.

Let me say. I hate Destiny at least whatever shell of a game that originally launched. Never played Taken King and never will give that series another try. The Division on the other hand is exactly what I was looking for when I bough Destiny. Things that stand out to me so far in my first 5 hours. -Graphics look really good to me and runs smooth -Servers are running stable -Great atmosphere and environment to run around in -Attention to details is really impressive -Character and weapons are fun to mod -Loot is addictive -Matching up with friends or randoms works really well My negatives -Menu screens can sometimes be hard to read -Missions and enemy variants seem limited and will probably start to feel repetitive as i progress to the level cap -Dark Zone (to me) is okay. Wish more of the Dark Zone aspects were in the standard game and not put off to one area. Would have been cool to have factions in game that you had to deal with. I've barely scratched the surface and happy with the purchase. I do wonder though if I'll really pump a lot of hours into this after I hit Level 30. With so many other great games out and coming out this year, I'm not sure if the Division will make stick around. For the time being, it's really enjoyable and I can't wait to dive back in this weekend.

This game should be on every adults must buy list! Tom Clancy Games have always delivered great content- whether it tactical shooters like rainbow six, or stealthy action games like splinter cell. This is a combination of all the best bits of Ubisoft shooters- allowing for exploration with your team of online buddies, encountering a gorgeous yet grim recreation of new york city. The threat of other players looms in the background and you never know who might be friend or foe. This game will be a definitive "next generation" title. The beta was excellent and I'm excited come gameday to pick it up. Also best buy offers an amazing price with gamersclub- not only is it discounted by 12 dollars, you get the bonus of 10 dollar gift card as well as exclusive preorder content.

A good game that can get repetitive

The Division is a lot of fun, especially if you are able to play with friends. It's fun to group up and take on story missions together and to go loot hunting together in the Dark Zone. The downside, however, is that it can become very repetitive. Most of the story missions are the same. Hide behind cover and shoot some guys. It's the nature of the genre really, but it can get old, especially when you unload 4 or 5 clips directly into an enemy's face and they're still not dead. But if you look at it more like an RPG than a shooter, and suspend any thoughts of realism when it comes to shooting people in the head, then you can move past some of these shortcomings and just enjoy what is a pretty good and fun game.

The Divison is a great game. I found the story and different factions to very interesting. One thing that plagues the game is the glitches. I thankfully didn't run into anything game breaking. Once past the main story line the game turns mostly into a grind for better loot. Things can get a bit boring but if you are into those sort of games it right up your alley. The best parts of the Division get drawn out when playing with friends. For single players there is matching matching but it definitely doesn't compare to playing with your best mates. The Division's future in the long run all depends on if Ubisoft cant deliver great long lasting DLC.

The Division's a great game. A lot of gamers have compared it to Destiny since that's really the only comparable game out there in this genre, though they do have some differences. One difference is the Division is a cover-based, third person shooter while Destiny's a first-person shooter like Halo. The Division is also more reality-based (versus Destiny's science fiction background), being set in New York after a virus outbreak decimates the city on Black Friday using infected currency. Basic social services and government services break down and chaos ensues. The Division is activated to bring order back to New York. The story is much clearer than Destiny's. You start with basic armor and weapons, then as you progress and level up, find better gear to handle the tougher enemies and missions, with endgame content being in the PvP area called the Dark Zone. The DZ is basically your high-risk, high-reward area. Loot you find there is "contaminated", meaning you can't equip them yet you successfully extract it by helicopter, which takes about 90 seconds to arrive from the time you call for it. It's during that butt-clenching time when other players can potentially kill you for your loot. If you're successful in extracting your contaminated loot, then you'll find them waiting for you in your Stash at your main base or any of the safehouses you've unlocked, ready to use. The missions are generally fun, though the timed ones to activate certain items can sometimes be tedious especially when there's no one to battle. What's the point of playing a shooter game with no one to shoot? Up to four players can be on a single team. The gunplay isn't quite as satisfying as in Destiny. It's hard to describe but there's just something about gun battles in Destiny that feel tighter and just generally better. I'm finding it a little difficult getting better loot, only because I haven't put in as much time as some of the more hardcore players. There were various exploits used to farm for the better, "High-End" gear that have since been patched. And with nearly all of the best gear being found in the Dark Zone where other players can steal your hard-earned loot, it can be frustrating. I've lost some loot in the DZ to other players and it's definitely annoying after spending so much time there trying to improve my gear loadout. I'm still playing and having fun with my friends, and the first free update drops tomorrow, with more content set for the next year. So I can't wait to see how it all plays out!

    24hrs+ of Gameplay

You know those games with the little annoying "time played" clock on the main menu, this is one of them. I always disliked this buzz kill as it was a constant reminder of time wasted playing video games. Believe it or not, this game has earned my respect. I've spent less than one hour in the Dark Zone & have vested over 24hrs in this game. Yes, one full day of my life gone to Tom Clancy's, Division. As a casual gamer 2-5 hours a week, this should tell you how deep this game is & that I wasn't so casual about my time in this game. Here's what I like. AI is smart, tough, brutal and smarter as you progress. The online connectivity through Xbox Live is simple, fun & innovative. Add or drop out of online game sessions as desired. Multiple side missions that correlate to the main story keep it interesting walking the streets of NYC. The story is compelling and believable. The weapon and equipment load outs are plentiful and forever improving. Co-Op reminds me a bit of Gears of War, with the duck and cover, revive me before I die function, which I like. I don't like: no vehicles to access, yet you walk the streets with hundreds there for the taking, Running through a massive city like NY gets old fast. What saved my short attention span of hiking city blocks to get my mission in, is the "fast travel" function allowing you to move fro safe house to safe house quickly. Making travel throughout the city feasible, but not enjoyable. I'd still prefer a vehicle of some sort as an alternate. I also don't like the limitations of online verses mode which can only be found in the Dark Zone when an agent decides to go rouge. Developers could have incorporated more blue vs red online features. Instead its Red Vs the computer, unless a gamer chooses to go rogue, then die quickly vs AI and JTF agents. Developers really missed here. Also, If you prefer FPS games, you may not like the game. Its all over the shoulder gameplay unless you're sniping. Overall gameplay feels like Dying LIght, with less jumping ability and more weapon/gear loadouts. Graphics and design are bar none some of the best I've seen on Xbox one. Lights go out when you shoot them, all windows break as you'd expect. Shadows & lighting are superb. I found it interesting that the game allows you to harm animals, but not civilians. I attempted to attack a civilian man yelling at a women. All they do is look at you funny and run. But catch a dog doing taking a number 2 (seriously)& you can shoot to kill? Puzzling, Best of all, I've had the game since launch date in early March & have 24hrs logged with so much gameplay left to experience. It's massive, but not too overwhelming. Anyone that played Dying Light will find familiarity. Weapon crafting, guys with flamethrowers you can explode, lots of climbing on buildings and ladders. No vehicles/tanks to travel in. Get past a slow start and get as many safehouses uncovered as possible. I haven't spent much time in the Dark Zone, didn't find much purpose after the intrigue left? Will revisit once missions & side missions complete. Guessing that could be another 8-12 hours of gameplay. A game worth your $60 bucks, even for the casual gamer like myself!

Good story and flow, variable difficulty, little buggy. Some levels, especially the new incursion have high difficulty especially dependant on group. Dark Zone requires the ability "take it in the rear, and move on" thought process at early levels lol. Prepare to get smakcked around, but to me it adds a level of "fear" lol. Good game, has some bugs, but so far game company fixing. Would recommend to Battlefield, Call of Duty, Halo, or anyone who likes good story and difficulty.
