Great TV for Bedroom at a great price

I purchased this Toshiba TV on line to avoid the Black Friday crowds. I had been shopping TVs for a while, so I knew it was a good price. I did not need a "Smart TV" since I already have those features in both my Blue Ray player and my Fire TV Stick. The TV arrived much faster than I expected, and I was happy to see that it was in good shape. It was easy to set up on the included "feet." After pealing off the protective plastic, it was pretty much plug-n-play. I filled the three HDMI ports with Cable box, Blue Ray player and the Fire TV stick. I no longer needed the switcher box I used with my much smaller TV. It still has room for a composite connection. The picture is bright, sharp and clear, just as sharp as any of the better HD-TVs. The sound is OK for normal, everyday stuff, but I have a sound bar with optical connection that I use when watching movies or better shows -- of course, I have to mute the TV when using the sound bar. It was fairly easy to set up with my cable DVR remote, but sadly, that remote won't switch between the HDMI ports. One little detail I like -- when you turn the TV off, there's a little red light that comes ON (on the bottom edge toward the left side when facing the TV). That way I can tell when the TV is actually off vs. when it just has the video source off. All in all, It works, very good picture, OK sound, easy to use, great price.

Good Value, but TV not backed by or made byToshiba

Please be aware that this TV is not backed by or have Toshiba Warranty. This have a Toshiba Label but is not made by Toshiba , it is made by a Taiwan company and have Best Buy's Warranty not Toshiba. Also comes without owner manual, which will have to be down loaded from internet. I bought it assuming it was a Toshiba Product, but found out Toshiba is now Franchising it's name only and not making the TV. The TV is otherwise good value for money with very good picture and good sound, but have lot of plastic construction.

    Average LED TV

There's a lot of enthusiastic reviews on this TV that are based on low expectations. The black Friday pricing is right at 250 and that's about right for a LED TV with these specs. 60hz is entry level, there's 3 HDMI but no VGA input, non-detachable power cord, and the sound output does not have a lot of depth to it. There's a USB port for viewing photos and can also power some smart TV adapters (i.e. Fire TV stick) however YMMV. Viewing photos via USB thumb drives are a bit hit and miss. I've tried a few different drives and have had the TV user interface become completely unresponsive while in the file browser on a couple of occasions which resulted in having to pull the power plug to reboot the TV. Bottom line, if you're looking for a LED TV from a brand name that's budget friendly, this is worth looking at. If you're looking to use solely for slideshows or as a digital sign, look elsewhere.

    Fantastic Buy

Just bought this TV yesterday and so far I am satisfied with my purchase. Easy to set up and incredibly light. Weighed less than the 40 inch Samsung LCD TV it was replacing. Picture is amazing. Both Movies and games are crystal clear. The motion looks amazing with the 60 hz. A deal with the 250 price point.

I thought this one had the best picture and the price was great. A long time ago, I had a Toshiba CRT tv and it was really good. It was an easy decision. I don't even know if they sell this model anymore, but don't be afraid of getting this. I read here that it's pretty basic, but its got 3 HDMI and component and USB port. I'm getting Roku 2 and a Thunderbolt/HDMI cable (for Macbook) which is as smart as I need a TV.

Great Picture, Good sound (for a flat screen). 60 Hz means fast motion will have a little blur, but you're not buying this TV for your primary set, right? It would be tough to find a better budget-level 43" for this price, without venturing into the unbranded models. This 43" TV weighs about the same as our 5 year old 32" LCD.

    Great basic TV

This is a great basic TV at a very nice price. The picture is good, the sound is decent without a sound bar, and the viewing angle is not an issue. 3 HDMI ports (instead of 1 or 2) is a big plus. I figure this TV will tide me over until the fancier OLED ones come down in price. For any smart features I want, I'll just buy a player with those already built in. Why spend $400-500 or more on something similar when you don't have to?

Replaced an older flat screen with this model and very happy. Sharper picture as compared to my Philips TV and less 'artificial' looking than Samsung looks to me. Very light weight which was important for my application. 3 HD ports and a USB are very good, other similarly priced models don't have multiple HD which you will need if you have a cable box and a Roku or similar product. Really enjoy watching movies on this screen!

I bought this TV(43L310U) since I have no need for SMART features. I used the calibration settings mentioned by noway1212 from NE from the Toshiba 40L310U review and it looks good, thank you.

    IN LOVE ...Bigger than Expected

My previous TV had for 11 years 40 inch was a Toshiba :) So I of course looked there first, but was open to others. I was looking to get a 48 inch as I live in a LARGE Single...I found the Toshiba for 299, which was my plan, but then on arrival the girl was helpful and showed me the lower 43inch and I went for it. I was so happy that it was TOTALLY big enough, and looked way bigger than you would think, and the 48 would have actually been too large. I am VERY happy with my purchase, and would have done 5 stars the ONLY reason is I have to turn the volume up to about 60/70 to have decent sound, and I have done all the volume buttons etc..(maybe that's a Flat screen thing) but my previous TV was blasting at 30...BUT The sound is fine WAY up at 60 and the Picture IS GORGEOUS.

Great deal.. Great price. TV is not wall mounted. Comi g from. 42" plasma that hummedthat finally wenr out. The Toshiba sound is great and does the job (of course any tv sounds better with a sound bar or theayer unit). Set up was easy. This thing is super light. Enjoy the 3 HDMI inputs. We watch sports and game on it. Would recommend to anyone.

Great TV but lacks Owners Manual

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Has a decent picture and sound. I don't see a reason for a sound bar but some people may want one. There is no owners manual included, only a setup poster that doesn't go into anything about the onscreen menus on the TV. Additionally, the warranty is through Best Buy, so don't bother going to the Toshiba website to try to register. Setup was easy if you're knowledgeable with HDTV's. I bought this for my mother. If my mother who is 72 was setting this up, she would be clueless. I was able to set it up for her and connect a Mohu antenna and pickup around 35 channels. For the overall price, I am pretty satisfied so far with the purchase.

    Cheap remote (broke week 3)

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this tv as a gift. Price was reasonable and quality is good. But the remote stopped functioning about 3 weeks in. When we contacted Toshiba they were totally unhelpful. Customer support recommended buying a new one. Or a universal remote. Ah, how about standing behind you cheap quality product? As for Best Buy, they weren't much better. This will be my last Toshiba product! And maybe my last Best Buy purchase - without great customer service we might as well buy from cheaper online retailers.

    Excellent Flat Screen

It's my first Toshiba tv & I'm highly impressed with the picture quality. The sound is basic . A surround sound system will solve this. The 43' model is a little bigger than anticipated. Viewing angle is very good , great color & good black levels . At this price for a fairly large HD set is a steal . DVD & especially Blu Ray playback is excellent. Not a lot of features , but a lot of picture adjustments to tweak to your prefered setting. Overall I would recommend this Toshiba & larger models to anyone ....A real steal in the big screen market .

No frills solid HDTV 1080p at a great price!

I bought this TV after black Friday at a black Friday price and it is a solid unit. I looked at Samsung and other models and this one shined at such a great price for a 43". It is a cinch to set up and works great. I use this primarily for a bedroom video game and cable and DVD and it is pretty impressive. I would highly recommend as a no frills TV for a second room/second TV. Not sure I could recommend as a main TV.
