This laptop has been a blessing and curse. It has performed quickly and holds a charge better than expected. However, the spacebar is totally terrible. You have to hit it with a harder than normal press for it to work. This is a problem if you are typing a long document and riding the spacebar for speed. It slows me down in my document writing. I am now using this for surfing the web instead of writing business plans and emails like I had envisioned. Perfect if you don't need to do a good amount of typing, bad if you need to do a lot.

If you read through the product specifications there should be no surprises when you receive the product. It has ever feature it claimed to and is just as slick as it appears in the pictures. I've been using the laptop for about a month now and have not had any issues thus far. I imagine if properly taken care of then it'll last a long time. If I had to state an issue then it would be with the mousepad. From the reviews I read beforehand I noticed other users had a similar experience. It works fine for the most part but doesn't always scroll the best and can stick from time to time. This is not the end of the world as I am using a wireless mouse most of the time anyway.

I would definitely recommend this machine for the price. However there are definitely some pros and cons. Pros - Quick boot times and extremely fast. - Compatible for the upcoming windows 10 upgrade. - Great screen resolution. Cons - A lot of bloatware that slows the machine down, spent some time removing things I never planned to use. - Touch pad is a little temperamental. - If laptop has been on without a restart for a few days, may need to be restarted for some functions to work properly. I had to restart once because the mute button stopped working. However, it could have been something I did without realizing.

This was my first laptop purchase and I've been using computer's since my first Amiga. There were very few choices that had what I wanted in a non-touchscreen laptop, which are 1080 resolution, 5th gen i5+, and a 13 or 14" display. I think 14" is the sweet spot for typing and portability. Fits in most bags easily and can be typed on or viewed for hours without discomfort. I got this on sale for $450 on Easter sale. Key spacing is pretty good for typing. Everything works great in the month I've owned it. The touchpad is kinda sensitive and can take time to get used to, I use a bluetooth mouse when doing desk work though. The battery life averages around 4-5 hours on moderate use. Plan on adding SSD soon, but the 6gb of memory seems fine.

Computer has been very good so far. lightweight, small size. Issue with screen flutter once or twice but hit enter and it goes away. hopefully not a future problem.

My previous netbooks were 11.6" Acers. This is 14", 1 lb more, so much better screen, but still good for travel. Boots up within 15s usually, and after locking the screen, it takes 3-4 s to return to where I was. My previous Acer was taking up to 5 min. Also, the sound is loud enough that I no longer have to attach an external speaker. And, my Tivo desktop is working on it. This solid state hard drive is supposed to be better for travel--we'll see. I have had this computer for 1 month. I am looking forward to Windows 10 upgrade.

First off ... an unqualified thumbs up on this laptop. Solid build quality ... excellent performance and outstanding screen quality make this a good choice for the casual user or even a power user. Have stuck with the standard configuration for now ... SSD likely in the future ... and with some removal of the typical c***ware this system runs fine. Very happy with my purchase at the $399 price I grabbed this at ... However, Windows 8.x is an over-engineered OS ... and with the coming release of Windows 10 in the next year this will be another change. All in all a solid B+ laptop.

This laptop has good specs for the price. With an i5 processor and 6 gigs of ram it should be good to go for several years for an average user.

Definitely a great deal at around $500. Hopefully windows 10 sides up some of the minor issues

I got this for $399 during a sale. Full HD screen is great but IPS would have been better. The build quality is also very good.

I bought this when my 10 year old laptop finally died. I waited as long as I could because I didn't want to go to Windows 8. Despite the operating system, this is a small but fast little laptop that is easy to use.

It's a great buy. Not extraordinary but great. The Windows 8 is poor but it has nothing to do with the laptop itself.

The laptop is very compact and very capable. It feels more expensive than it is. The backlit keyboard is a nice pleasant blue. There is no touchscreen, but I have not missed it. Really an excellent buy.

Great laptop! Sad it's no longer being sold. I love the 1080p screen, backlit keyboard, got it for a great price, and very sleek design. Battery life is not the best, but everything else is great.

I gave this a 4 star rating. It is a nice laptop. I especially like the keyboard lights, and the keys type very smooth. It is taking me a while to learn the differences from my old one. I am disappointed that there is not a number keypad to the side and there is not a disc drive, didn't think to check that when I bought it. The display is very sharp and bright.

Enjoying this computer getting used to windows 8. But really looking forward to the upgrade to windows 10

Good PC for the price. I like to take my people to the store and let them choose based on size, feel, etc.

No cd drive and small screen but price was right. Works better than broken one so will have to do.

Price is good for its configuration and features. Bought is for friend, he said it is good.

While I am still getting through some glitches, I am happy with the computer for the price.
