Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The product itself is great. I ordered on line and paid. The link also said it was able to do a trade in with my old router and take 15% off the new router. I left from work to pick up. I called the Best Buy number on the way to pick go ask about the trade in, I told the lady I didn’t have the trade in with but could I bring it Saturday and get money back, she said yes no problem. I asked again and she said that was no problem. I get there on Saturday with the trade in and was told I can’t do that. I told them what the lady said, and got “oh well, she was wrong”

That is an awful experience. If we could do something about that we would but that is a program offered by Best Buy and we don't have any control over that. Since reviews apply to the product and not Best Buy's service we would kindly request you provide a rating based on the product itself and include with what you already have what you like or dislike about the product.

Good but no updates

Sadly the assistance and support from Tp-link is not. they are not giving him attention, in 3 years neither one update. Doesn't have feature basic as control bandwidth that have 80$ router from the same brand

In general senses Firmware updates are provided in three instances. 1. To add or optimize a feature 2. To address a bug 3. To address a security concern. If a product goes a long time between Firmware updates its not necessarily a bad thing. It just means that the product may not have anything to add or address. For your router the last update was added on 12/6/2024.

Dont buy this brand

When i contact customer support, they do not know how to fix the problem and send a email with a broad description "fix"

Thank you for sharing your experience with our product. It sounds like your modem's MAC (Media Access Control) binding needs to be released and renewed so it can provide an IP address (and Internet) to the Router. This can typically be done using the following steps:
1. Unplug the power from both your router and cable modem
2. Unplug the coax cable from the modem
3. Re-connect power ONLY to your cable modem
4. Wait until the cable modem is fully booted, then re-connect coax
5. Re-connect power to the router and connect it to the modem via Ethernet
This process should release and renew the MAC binding, so your modem can provide connectivity to the router. Not enough range despite all the antennas

More Antennas does not always mean better range, but the Range of the AXE7800 should be enough for most customers. It does depend on placement, though. Not customizable enough

If by "install multiple routers to this", you mean creating a Mesh Wi-Fi solution for your home, we would recommend considering one of our Deco Mesh Wi-Fi Systems, or an EasyMesh compatible TP-Link Wi-Fi Router, such as those listed here: https://www.tp-link.com/us/easymesh/product-list/
