I purchased this so I could get rid if the Ethernet cable running between my garage/office and my house, as the winter is brutal on it. I was skeptical that I would have positive results with maintaining good speed. I am pleasantly surprised. Not only was the setup for this device beyond easy, I lost no speed from the connection over the Power Line Unit vs the Ethernet cable. I am paying for 50Mbit service and I still get that with this device, just as if there were still a cable going between the house and garage. The WiFi is at 30Mbit which is better than I was getting with a repeater. Overall, this is well worth the money and easy to setup. Remember to change the WiFi password settings for security.

Okay, I’ve always been anti powerline communications. I think mainly because you have to plug it directly into the wall, no power strips allowed, which is hard to come by in my place. Enter the AV500, where my first thought is “cool, it has 2 ethernet ports on it”, and “No way will it work well”. Long story short color me impressed. Long story long this little box is pretty powerful. I had absolutely no Wi-Fi or ethernet in my basement. I prefer ethernet over Wi-fi but down in the dungeon I got nothing. The AV500 fixed that problem for me. The streaming speeds over powerline were… dare I say impressive. Setup was pretty darn easy too. Just plug one in then plug in the other then hit the pair button. You have to press the pair button on the second adapter within 2 minutes. Admittedly, I got distracted the first time I tried to set this up and missed that window. But that was the only hiccup I had. If I had to complain at all about the device is that it required a utility to find the correct IP address, to complete the setup. Still a very slick device that I hope to enjoy for a long while. Submitted as part of a free sample program.

Perfect wifi solution for old houses

This product is really easy to install and configure. Before installing it I had really slow speeds at the far end of the house, about 1 MBPS. After installing this product I now get between 15 and 25 MBPS of download speeds at the far end of the house. Avoid using an extension cord or power strip with this unit as the instructions say. I tried that at first and experienced only about 5 MBPS. This was well worth it to solve the problem of dropped or slow connections.

This worked to extend internet to my basement, but the wifi turned out to be insufficient for smooth internet operation. But when I used the ethernet connection it worked great.

Don't spend your money on any other extender. This worked so great for my house. Now my whole how is covered by my Wi-fi and my PS4 is hardwired via LAN and getting the best internet streaming I can give it. Love this product.

Easy to plug in. One into the modem and the other in another room that you need Ethernet. The power plug is very bulky so be sure you have enough room to plug it in.

So the product works, but isn't stable and consistent. I sometimes have to unplug and replug it. The setup process was easy though. The speeds are a little slow, but better than not having it. ;)

Bought this to enable PS4 remote play throughout the house. Works like a charm! I can just unplug the wifi unit, move it to any room i am in, and stream my PS4 flawlessly with no lag.
If you are having trouble with wifi range in your house, our just need a stronger/faster connection in certain rooms, this product is a great fix!

I have a room above the garage (separated from the house) and we have plaster walls,so WiFi signals only give me one bar from my room. I tried to run a ethernet cord but without having to snake it through the walls it'd have been horrible. But this makes it so I have a ethernet hookup to my game systems AND it gives off WiFi signal for about 20ft. I love this product and highly recommend it! Also you can either clone the existing WiFi signal or make it your own private signal (you'd still be on the same bandwidth as the original WiFi)
AND Yes this can work even if the outlets are on different circuits. I've had no trouble at all in the past 2 months

I set this device up and paired it in approximately 15 minutes. Everything was well explained in the instructions. After setting it up, I used WPS to have my wifi name be broadcast from this device. That also was pretty straightforward and simple. Since setting it up, I have noticed improved wireless coverage and speed.

Intention of this product was to run wifi to the garage using the powerline adapter. Very easy setup and worked exactly like I had hoped. It has great range for being just a plug in wifi unit. Garage is detached unit and I can still connect to it in the house. Highly recommend it.

This is precisely what I've been looking for to solve my weak wi-fi signal outside of the house. I like using my laptop and cellphone in my garage and shops but connections were sparse, spotty and slow. This solved those problems and easy as pie to set up.

These have extended my wifi as promised. Easy setup. No issues in over a month of usage. If you see the WifI slowing down, these will pump it right back where you need it. Don't let signal loss slow your computers.

Our wifi router is in the the basement on one end of the house and and our bedroom is on the first floor on the other end of the house. I installed the powerline adapter near the router and the extender in our bedroom. Very easy to set up. Measured from our bedroom speed increase is 60%. For a fraction of the cost of the cheapest wifi mesh there is no more buffering when watching streaming movies. Also it's the best perfect gadget I spent my BestBuy rewards on.
