Wow this thing is AMAZING! Very simple to set up & use -- the speed of my wifi went from 0.4 mbps to 19.9 mbps. Great for those working from home! They basically turn any electrical outlet into an ethernet port (never knew that was possible). Downside is you are plugged into ethernet, but positive is that the connection is stable 100% of the time vs wifi which is hit or miss.

These things made my internet speed run at about 10% of the speed of my WIFI. And less than 4% of my hardwired internet speed. I was hoping these would at least improve on the 5Ghz WiFi speeds but no such luck. They actually killed my speed completely (see screenshots of speed tests). I’m a fan of TP-LINK products and have several of their smart switches and plugs in my home. These however are absolute garbage and do not deliver on their promise. The only positive I can say is that they were a breeze to set up and connect. However, given the end result, I wish I had saved myself the time and effort.

      Hi,

Thank you for your review. Please bear in mind Powerline data transfer rates will vary due to network environment variables including: distance between adapters, network traffic, noise on electrical wires, building material and construction, quality of electrical installation and other adverse conditions.

First, please ensure both Powerline adapters are plugged directly into wall outlets - no surge protectors or power strips as these will directly interfere with the connection. We recommend following the suggestions outlined in our FAQ here to help optimize the performance of your Powerline connection: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-409.html

We'd love to follow up with you and answer any questions you might have. Please send an e-mail with your contact information and a link to this review to [email protected] and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

      Best Regards,
      TP-Link Support tplink

If I could put no stars I would I was looking for this because at night time when my family is home everyone is using all their different devices and the internet gets slowed because of that which is normal and I play video games so I would lag a lot so I bought this thinking it would help and my family is not home at the time of testing but I normally when they are not on their devices get 80-120 mbps and I tested today without the tp link on a wireless network far from my router got 83.2 mbps then I plugged the tp link into the router and into my PlayStation and with the wired network I got 25.8 mbps

Paired outlets in minutes with the pair button and ping is consistent and speed is slightly lower than my 5G WiFi but still good. Maxed out at about 180 megabits per second. Solid performance and no drops anymore.

Overall works well and easy to setup. Speed could be a bit faster but that would be expected of powerline-based approaches. Able to get internet actoss living room, dining room, and three bedrooms.

I am a technician for an internet service provider, so I have many years experience with troubleshooting internet problems and figuring out if it's an internet provider problem or a home network problem and I always HIGHLY recommend these to many of my customers. DONT BUY WIFI EXTENDERS! If you are having wifi problems, they just extend your wifi problems farther out. Instead, these powerline adapters give you a hardline connection on the other side of your house, just like if someone ran you a network cable to a different room. But these are even better because you can move them anywhere in your house and as long as they are talking through the same breaker panel you can move that connection to any room you need. I bought this to give my brother a hardline connection to his Xbox that he had in a room that we couldn't run a new network cable too and it works great! You could also buy this and a router that can be set to "Access Point Mode" and give yourself another wifi router on the other side of a big house (make sure you change that 2nd router to access point mode first or it will fight with your 1st router and give you more internet problems)

This product is very beneficial and amazing when it comes to quality. I’ve had it for about a year now and it has not let me down. As a gamer I’ve struggled with high WiFi and with the help of this product it’s nice and simple. Overall it made my pc WiFi much faster and better. Highly reccomend

I bought a couple of sets of these power line Ethernet adapters to help provide consistent network connectivity for the family while we are working from home and doing remote learning for my high school and college age kids. The ability to use these over the existing electrical lines has been great and they are easy to setup and configure. More consistent connectivity than from the single wireless router that we were using. Make sure that you get USB or USB-C Ethernet adapters and ethernet patch cables if you are using these on laptops.

This product is really cool and the idea behind it is very mind-blowing. YET, in order for this to work, both devices need to be on the SAME electrical circuit. If this is not the case, you will be getting 25 mbps speeds and not the 1000 as promised (assuming you have such speeds of course). I found it useful for my Apple TV.

I have this plugged into the most optimal position it can be in. Its on the same breaker as the other plug and router and pretty close to the router (just needed a direct connect to the room on the otherside of wall of the router without snaking an ethernet all the way around). Im also using CAT6 cables not the CAT5 that came with it. So this says it can get a gig down, no it can't. I have this is the best environment it can get and it tops out at 250 mbps. Really the only upside is that I have a more stable connection than the wifi adapter.

This helped a bunch with some connectivity issues I was having with my PS4’s wireless connection. This has yet to disappoint on that front. I only get 50 Mbps though, while some of ,y wireless devices exceed 400 Mbps throughout my house, but I won’t fault the product entirely for that. I’d say just don’t expect the theoretical maximum speed.

As the title says this is not a bad product nor a good product. I gave it 3 stars due to the speed. On the other hand this can be used in those hard to reach places in your home or office. I get 400Mbps through my provider and got a reading of 51Mbps on my PS5. You’re better off using only for certain task that don’t require a high bandwidth. Pro: Easy to set up Pro: very small (small as a credit card) Con: must use wall outlet Con: Speed cut in half

My grandsons were having trouble with WiFi for their Play Stations. They connected three adapters and really smoothed out their gaming. Easy to pair and install in minutes. I use Powerline adapters on my blue ray player to connect at fast speeds to Netflix and other internet streaming locations. Movies load in 5 seconds. You must have an rj-45 connection on your device to plug in. Have used adapters for years.

This was a lifesaver and so easy to use! You plug one into the wall by your modem/router and connect with an ethernet cord. Then you plug thensecond one in and pair them and then youbare able to move the other box to connect a computer anywhere in the house as long as it is in the same circuit. This helped me to have a wired line for my job and made a huge difference in my computer speed.

Needed an option to be "wired" into the internet for my laptop since we use terminal servers for work (which takes up a lot of bandwidth). Although many people disagree, this has been working great for me! No internet issues since I purchased and started using this!
