Tears of Joy!

This movie is an incredibly fun ride! As one who loves and appreciates high production value, occasionally, I'll watch something that is so technically impressive that it brings tears of joy to my eyes - and this movie definitely had a couple of those moments (the flight sequence through buildings that happened early on, and the triumphant dinobot overture at the end). Like the wing suit sequence in T3, Bay does such an incredible job of putting you right in the movie. The 3D and IMAX footage is spectacular. Stanley Tucci had some great comedic moments and Mark Wahlberg was a great addition to the franchise as well. While the plot wasn't bulletproof, it definitely wasn't as bad as it could have been, and honestly, the movie is just too fun and beautifully shot to dwell on that.

In short this is the Transformers movie we should have gotten in the first place. It is completely mind boggling how anyone could be disappointed in this movie. Finally the Transformers are the main characters while the humans are there as support. Bay may not have a gift for depth and storytelling but when it comes to the kind of over the top action this film needs he is a prodigy. The designs are much more fluid now and only the Dinobots retain the sharp angled designs. We even get Optimus Prime in his classic flat nose Truck form. If you are a fan of the Transformers and grew up playing with the toys and watching the cartoons in the 80s, I humbly implore you; watch this movie from the prospective of that kid that is still inside you. He or she will thank you.

The steelbook itself is very nice, so glad Best Buy is getting more of these. The movie continues the Transformer's saga some time into the future from the previous. So there's some holes that are not really clearly filled in, but you can figure out what may have caused the current situation we are faced with from the flash backs and some dialogue. All in all it's a fine addition to the franchise, and should be enjoyed by anyone who liked the previous movies. For new viewers, I would not recommend this as a starting point. You really do need to have seen the previous flicks to understand the concepts and storylines that are referred to here. Enjoyable, but not really understandable for a new viewer.

Yeah you read the title, it has to be one of the few 3d blurays that deliver on 3d content and watchability. I saw in the theaters in 3d and was impressed, but as we all know as 3d fans these movies aren't cheap on bluray 3d. I actually had to get a price match on amazon, because I refuse to pay 30+ dollars on a movie. Now to the 3d stuff, there is minimal crosstalk/ghosting. But you will notice some in the beginning, but when the action kicks in you will not notice it. It has plenty of immersion and screen popping effects. The action combined with excellent 3d makes for exciting ride. Don't pass it up if you catch it on sell. I hope this review helps my fellow 3d lovers.

The movie starts off slow, it's kind of hard to identify the good guys and bad. As movie progresses the defining of all the characters, as more and more pile on, does not help the viewer to keep focus on the developing plot.
On a more positive side if you like mindless violence the Hong Kong action at the last part on movie gets heavy. Of course there is a gorgeous pair of legs that belong to the main characters daughter who we are led to believe is 17, boy, thats a stretch. Maybe 27 would be more believable.
I would have felt more comfortable giving this movie 31/2 stars if that was a option. It basically mindless brain candy that gives enough to see it once.

At first I did not like the third series; it might be that I preferred the people from the first two episodes, however the largest money making film in history can't be all that bad. I truly enjoyed the Texas portion of the film where (being a Texan born and raised), they seem to have got the flavor right (keep trying/working thru adversity). Jump to the other half of the population (actually the top 1%) where domination and control is the name of the game. The movie then moves to China where the action culminates. This series is ready for another episode and I feel that the Transformers is going to be with us for many additional years.

Best Transformers Movie Since the First One

This is the best Transformers movie since Michael Bay's first attempt. The second and third installments were weak with forced comedy and people behaving erratically for no reason. The lead role of Mark Wahlberg and supporting cast are far less annoying than Shia LaBeouf. The Transformers themselves are a little easier on the eyes and far less busy than before. You can actually make out their faces for once. In typical Hollywood fashion, they changed the backstories for most of the Transformers including the Dinobots and Galvatron. However, it was very cool to see the Dinobots in action! Worth a rental at the very least.

This is a review for just the Best Buy exclusive Steelbook packaging. The steelbook is great with a glossy finish and holds 3 discs (2 blu-rays, 1 DVD). The only thing holding this back from a 5 star rating is that it does not include the 3D version of the film (which also opens up the picture for the IMAX scenes). Best Buy has released 4 Disc, 3D Steelbooks in the past (see Amazing Spiderman, and The Hobbit Extended), so it is a little disappointing that if you want the 3D version of the film you'll have to buy another combo pack, but the Steelbook itself is still great and definitely recommended for non 3D customers.

Not bad for a Transformer movie

I went into this with the expectation of it being a typical Michael Bay Transformers movie so I wasn't disappointed. Yes, it didn't make much sense in places and some things were laughably stupid, but it's not bad as a distraction to entertain me for 2+ hours. You could have cut out the whole father/daughter dynamic that was vapid and ridiculous but I'll take that as long as I get the dinobots. I'm not sure why I like them so much, but I do. I did get tired of all the "I'm gonna kill him/them/it" lines, but all in all I enjoyed this movie despite the flaws. And it looks great on a big screen.

In its 4th installment with an all new human cast Michael Bay has certainly delivered again. This time it's more of autbots vs humans (government to be exact) vs the creators which is pretty exciting. It's action packed, new tech, and introduction to new transformers that will transform you away. Love and new cast excellent with a bit of comedy and some romance it's a total blockbuster a must see for all. You will definitely feel the transformation especially when u see the Dinobots making their debut.

Transformers 4 Age of Extinction is one of the best films of all time. It's action packed, funny and really brings to life the characters we all know and love. Optimus Prime and the Autobots are seen in an entirely different light in this film. No longer are they fighting to save humanity, now they are fighting to save themselves from a CIA operative and his team "Cemetery Wind". I loved Age of Extinction, Mark Wahlberg's character is wonderful, the story is compelling and the cinematography, exponential. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing the film in Blu-Ray, as it captures the beauty that is Transformers Age of Extinction.

It’s been years since the Decepticons and the Autobots battled for the fate of the humans in Chicago and human defenses against alien forces are at an all-time high. A government branch of humans is targeting all Transformers, Autobots and Decepticons alike, with the help of a menacing assassin. While all of this is going on, Cade Yeager, a struggling inventor from Texas tries to make enough means to keep his property and put his daughter Tessa through college. While looking for parts to help his inventions, he stumbles upon a broken down, rusted truck and decides to fix it up. To his surprise, the truck turns out to the mighty Optimus Prime. Cade fixes him and decides to help him defeat the forces coming for Earth yet, again once he realizes what the government is doing to Transformers. Now, the fate of the entire human race lies in the hands of Optimus and this family of humans and, without them, we might just face extinction.
This review is not about the steelbook but the movie itself. The film is very entertaining and visually very well done. The director used an IMAX Digital Camera which means the images are more immersive and stunning than anything ever seen on the big screen so far. With this latest sequel we have a bounty hunter who is killing other transformers, Kelsey Grammer as a cruel & devious government agent and a new Decepticon. In addition to a new storyline the movie has a whole new cast so instead of Shia LeBeouf this movie stars Mark Whalberg. If you haven’t seen a Transformers film this movie is not for you with a running time of 165 minutes this movie is about Autobots fighting humans and then Autobots fighting Decepticons. So if you want to see robots beat up other robots then see this movie if not then watch something else.

Saw it in theaters thought it was pretty good even though their kinda starting fresh with new characters, cast different setting to me all the movies from the franchise have been good all of them bursting with non stop action and plenty of visual effects which is a plus for 3D viewers the latest installment is no different but with a more serious tone for me as a movie goer I see movies for what they are and don't bother to listen to critics and negative reviews for which everybody nowadays complains about movies and video games you either like it or you don't just don't be bitter about it.

There will never be the "newness": of the first and second movies again, but this reboot is a good start for what is hopefully to come. Marky Mark is a reliable action star, but he should have been able to take some of these bad guys hand to hand. His guns are a showin' and he still struggles with the punches. There are other unbelievables and plot holes that have to be dealt with. However, the pretense of transforming robots is unbelievable, so deal with the rest of it. Buy it, watch it and have fun! That is what movies are all about to me!

This one wasn't as bad as the last installment but still wasn't great. 3D is excellent though due to IMAX enhanced aspect ratio and screen breaks.

It's a Michael Bay movie...explosions and fun. While not exactly the movie long-time Transformer fans have been looking for it delivers on the action, humor and fun of the series. If you can overlook some of the glaring plot holes and dialogue and enjoy the movie for a summer blockbuster you will enjoy this film. John Goodman did an excellent job voicing Hound. I look forward to future installments of the franchise and hope they add a little more heart to the films for nostalgia's sake. PS Optimus would never shout, "I'm going to kill you!"

The best transformers movie to this date...
As a Transformers fan I can say that this movie is the best that Michael Bay could accomplish for the franchise .
After the long break he took between DotM and AoE he came up with this master piece full of action , fights, explotions and of course TRANSFORMERS.
Unfortunately for some people is not enough because the story line is kinda dumb and out of logic at some points.
Well ... may be Transformers Age of Extinction actors won get an OSCAR but special effects and edition I'm pretty sure will.

The Bad:If you're gonna keep humans in the movies then a better cast is needed. I thought Mark Walhberg as well as the other male lead(daughters boyfriend) were terrible in this movie. Without spoiling it for those that haven't seen it I will just say Mark playing a dad and world saver just doesn't work.
The Good: Dinobots, story, special effects, new autobots, awesome bad guys/decepticons.
Still worth watching if you can accept that the acting is going to stink(aside from Tucci) and there are two many stupid one liners and quips.

I thought I would miss some of the other stars like Josh Duhmal and Tyrese as they were great in the first ones... I think it is one of the better ones of the Transformer series. The direction they went was a good one as I feel that they had stretched out Sam's storyline and without the original cast branching into a new story are was a good way to go. Okay, so some of the action scenes were a little unrealistic no matter how in shape you are but it's great and fun action...the verbal dialogue was funny for the adults to enjoy yet great for children too.
