Brings tears to my eyes to see favorite actors who have long passed -- Bill Paxton and Phillip Seymour Hoffman and their contributions to make this story captivating. Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton were convincing as a couple in distress denying their love and attraction even with the threat of danger by tornadoes. lOVED THIS.

I always liked this movie, but watching it on Blue Ray was even better thanks to the sound. I've watched it on tv with a sound bar but, the sound effects are so much stronger & louder on disc. The movie is much more exciting & you can appreciate the visual effects, story & acting better thanks to realistic sound! Very like able cast with Bill Pullman, Helen Hunt & the late great Phillip Seymour Hall in an early noticeable screen role.

Twister is a gray classic it's too bad two of the main actors have passed away. I remember when I went on the universal ride for twister it was awesome it was like they were at that drive-in theater when it came through.

Disaster movies usually have large casts, windbag dialogue, tons of spectacle and some groundbreaking special effects. Twister doesn't reinvent the wheel, but instead, it becomes the wheel. It relishes in the tropes of yesteryear, and it works for the most part. There are actors (Bill Paxton, Helen Hunt, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, etc.), there is a screenplay (Co-written by Michael Crichton) and there is direction (Jan de Bont, former DP and director of Speed) but the main draw is the effects. Is there a reason why the original poster has a giant Twister on it with Micro Machine-sized actors in the corner running away? Its not for the exciting plot about Meteorologists launching a data collector in a tornado, and some very bad dialogue thats for sure. Yes, the CG is almost 20 years old but man does it still look good and still draws me in every time I watch it. If anything, just skip the "plot" scenes and relish into the destruction of the Southwest. The PQ and AQ are pretty decent, but the PQ needs a major 4K remaster (20th anniversary Diamond Luxe edition Warner Bros. please?) and a nice sound remaster would be icing on a cake, but sounds just fine right as it is now. The extras are carried over from the 2001 special edition and the 2-disc DVD edition with a nice commentary by Jan de Bont and Special Effects Supervisor Stefen Fangmeier which offers details about the groundbreaking CGI, concepts for the film, acting choices and more. 2 featurettes include the HBO EPK making-of and a retrospective and a History Channel documentary about tornadoes are included along with two trailers and the music video to the awesome Van Halen song "Humans Being" complete this average selection of extras. Recommended totally!

I like sharing these older movies with my children. It seems like Hollywood tries to make even more dramatic weather chaos movies but this one is still a great storyline

The original disaster movie. Set the pace for all to come after. Even 23 year later still a thriller and must see over and over. Effects miss on DVD is great on Blu-ray.

So many action-packed movie of a group of mad(?) scientists in a good way! A wonderful movie if you like adventures and Discovery channel, at the same time.

It came all packaged and my daughter and I opened it and watched it that night with no issues. No skipping or anything! Plus, we couldn’t beat the price!!!

No matter how many times I watch this. I’m still finding odd quirks, edditting errors, corny lines. Everything I love to see in a movie. Way ahead of it time!

This is a great addition to the blu ray collection on the shelf. Great sound on a soundbar. Picture quite is pretty good as well.

I remember when this movie came out, what a great movie. A must have in any movie collection if you were from the 90s.

I have watched this movie several times. I love the 'we have cows!' line! Very good story line with a lot of action shots.

**Not a film review** Got this blu-ray from the bargain bin ($6) to replace my DVD version of the film. While not amazing, this is a good picture and sound movie and the blu-ray is higher quality.
