Saw this item on the discovery channel series. Looked interesting especially with the advent of virtual doctor visits. My wife and I have not had health insurance for many years since her being layoff. It wasn’t cheap, and it was only available through Best Buy. Best Buy was offering $100 off regular price. I believe I paid $299 for it. I always buy extended warranties but this purchase wasn’t eligible for one. So it came with a one year manufacturers. It’s intuitive enough, although some of the tests require two people to use. It comes with a variety of tools, though I won’t mention all of them here. 2.5” screen with on scree instructions walks you through each step. The onboard camera and memory allows the test for ears and throat. Test include; heart, lungs, ears, throat. With complete instructions both written and video. Also a variety of testing accessories for both adult and children. Unit can be registered standalone, through a variety of practitioners. Or it can be registered through your HMO. Complete testing and diagnostics, may take 30 mins or more. Though one of the many test can be taken individually. The diagnostic information gathered is transmitted via web chat virtual doctor visits with a preferred recommended or through your HMO registration. Once the information is transmitted a physician contacts through video chat (Computer, phone, or tablet ) to discuss. This device can store test result to send later. Though there is. O venue to externally save or view. All the formalities of an office visit or discussed. Visitations and prescriptions can be arranged at that time. One of the pitfalls is that each person using it needs to register individually. So the system needs to be shut down between diagnostics. I had the opportunity to use it during this coronavirus. The complete test required my wife to be assisting. Once all the registration completed, and since I had no insurance. The visit cost $59 which is pre-paid before the call can take place. The physician contacted me within 10 minutes of uploading the information. The video visit lasted about 15 minutes, with recommendations given. With the continued limitations of Covid I would recommend devices of this nature. Or other Venues of this type to facilitate timely diagnostics and the angst of in person visits.

I love the TytoHome device and kit, it is so easy to use, and most importantly, my kids love it and look for excuses to try it out. Working in healthcare, I have always stayed up to date on the newest health tech products, and when I read about this device, I immediately went and purchased them for myself and some other executives in my company. Raising two small children is hard enough, now I have the piece of mind if one of them wakes up sick in the middle of the night, or while we're on vacation, we can speak with our pediatricians immediately, instead of heading to the emergency room or an after-hours pediatrics group. Parents, do yourself a favor and get one of these devices.

Disclaimer: TytoCare gifted me this device. This review is my honest opinion. I've had the device for about a month, but have not nor have any of my family members been sick yet to have to use the device for its ultimate purpose. That said, it is worth reviewing the device for ease of use and confidence one would have in it to accomplish desired results. The device comes with multiple attachments to give yourself or a family member basic tests such as temperature, heartbeat, lungs, ears and throat. The device and attachments are solidly built and function as they should. Very solid built quality! The associated app that pairs the device to your phone also works seamlessly with the device to walk you through tutorials on how to do each test. Again, very well designed! While the quality is excellent, and most of the tests can be completed easily, the test for heartbeat and lungs were difficult to get done correctly as determined by the device. For example, I have hair on my chest and for the lung test while the app was telling me it was getting usable input, it never allowed me to complete a test because it said it needed better contact with the skin. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to shave my chest for a test like this, and it left me without confidence I could do this test correctly on myself if I felt it was a serious situation. Other tests worked well, but left me thinking I might just as well want to go to a Dr. to have them done. Specifically, the ear test will take a picture of your ear canal and ear drum. I did not enjoy peering deep into an ear canal. I'm generally not a fan of Dr. shows and prefer to leave the Dr.-ing to the Dr.'s. That said, I have enough faith in the device, its build quality and its interface to test it once or twice on an actual illness the next time one comes up. While my confidence is not high that I will complete the test accurately (though I have spent more than a couple hours using and testing the device and app), I have faith it will work as advertised. I will report back once there has been a sickness worthy of testing, but for now I'm somewhat happy not to have to work with it for awhile. For now I've rated it as "Good" because it seems to work as advertised (which is exceptional for a product to do what this can do), but it can be tricky and I won't rate it as excellent until it has proven it can help my family. While I'm mostly convinced that it will, I will have to wait and see. Finally, it is absolutely worth noting that I live in close proximity to good healthcare. If I did not, I would probably think this device was a major blessing and would work to master it.

I started reading about the TytoCare, after searching proactively for any available thermometer during the initial onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Needless to say, thermometers were sold out everywhere, seemingly the moment the Stay at Home orders were declared in California. Initially, I merely glanced over the TytoCare because the cost was considerably more than I was hoping to spend at the time. After coming back to the website several times - I began to research on how the TytoCare would be beneficial to me and my family. The expense aside, I found the ease of use - would be a major benefit to us now, and in the future. I have a two kids - an early teen and a toddler - and as luck would have it, I have my senior parents living with me during the pandemic. Despite my initial hesitation about the cost, I took a shot and ordered one the TytoCare and opted for curbside pickup at my local BestBuy. It took less than the quoted five days and got the “Ready for Pickup” notice about three days later, this was by far the easiest and smartest curbside service imaginable. The device itself is smaller than I expected- which is a perk because it’s not at all heavy. My only fear is dropping it. The TytoCare is ready for use the moment you power it up. I had already downloaded the App and was able to sync the device within a few minutes. The device includes a power cord and all three adaptors, as well as several tongue depressors and disposable ear specula. Obviously, we played with the thermometer on the kids - but soon put it away. The next morning my father - who is generally as healthy as an ox, woke up with a headache and ringing in his ear. Later that afternoon, the ringing became constant. He refused the idea of going to an urgent care. The next morning he was losing his balance and it was then, that we used the TytoCare to administer several of the tests. The ear exam is super easy, it auto detects within seconds and uploads with no problem. The tongue depressors is as simple to use - but I suppose we should have practiced first... it records a 30 second video, but not knowing what it’s supposed to record, we did it several times. The device syncs to your phone instantly, and the tests download to the app with a push of a button. Five minutes or so, we had input a credit card and were speaking to doctor via the LiveHealth portal. The doctor was impressed by the quality of the images and was able to diagnose an inner ear infection with a minutes. She was very friendly and reassured us all would be well within a few days and was able to send a prescription to the pharmacy we had chosen beforehand at the nearest pharmacy. The experience was in some ways even better than a live consult. My father was able to ask several questions and never felt rushed. As the whole family stood around and marveled - the doctor was nice enough to say hello even to my little one. TytoCare has within a few days become indispensable to us. With the added advantage of not having to leave home during the current situation - the cost seems less important. I am glad I made the purchase and feel this device will only make our lives easier.

I purchased this for my parents due to the current pandemic world situation. The device works and works well but the interfacing between the Tytocare app and whoever your Telemed provider is can be seriously lacking. For a couple of checkups, the doctors could not see the data from the Tytocare app even though I saw it was sent prior to the start of the Telehealth visit. It’s not the fault of the device, but perhaps providers need more training. Because of that I do wish it were easier to “save” the data from the Tytocare app to send to your provider. Having said that, I realize why it’s “locked down” *cough* HIPAA

This gadget is the neatest thing! It’s a thermometer, otoscope, etc. and you can see on the screen or phone/tablet. The only set back for me is that anyone over the age of 18 has to set up their user account, which makes since if you’re going to use the virtual physician. Awesome product if u have children.

The TytoHome saved us a trip to the kids ER in the middle of the night. We were able to use the device to obtain a virtual doctor visit for a fraction of the cost and were able to get our daughter meds prescribed to a local 24 hour pharmacy. It was amazing!! We cannot recommend the TytoHome enough, having used it for a couple appointments thus far, set up was easy, the interface is user friendly and the entire process is perfect for everyone!! I'd like to start by saying that this product has a lot of potential to be something great. The device itself is very easy to use, and the tutorials are very helpful. However, where it is lacking in its current state is the app and exam submission process. The primary issue I had with the self-screening process was exam submission via the app. Once my exam was submitted I was directed to a payment screen, which I completed, and that's where I encountered a problem. The first time, I realized I would like to go back a screen; however, upon doing so, the app cancelled the exam altogether! This means redoing all of the exam measurements. I redid the exam measurements, and the second time I proceeded past the payment screen to a point where I received notification of who the physician was reviewing my results. Unfortunately, the app force closed, and upon restarting it, I found my exam results were submitted, but I never received feedback from the physician. I tried calling customer service; however, the agent I spoke with was not very knowledgeable and pretty unenthusiastic about helping. He stated there was no way for him to resubmit my exams stuck in limbo and that I would have to do it again. That was the last straw for me; I wasn't doing the exam for a third time. I have since returned the product

I was really blown away with the technology at my fingertips. As a mother, this is a phenomenal tool to have at home and help us take our health into our hands and be more prepared. It worked so well and the instructions for use were straightforward and understandable. I was wildly impressed and was really thrilled to share about it with other moms. I bought this for my mother who has mobility issues. Taking her to the doctor is incredibly challenging. We have to get her out of the house, into the vehicle, into her wheel chair, into the elevator, then a 25 minute wait for a 15 minute visit. Initially I was helping her with the exams but very quickly my mother started to do them on her own as the software makes it so easy. A week later my 3 month old son seemed to have a breathing issue and we used it to get a diagnosis in minutes. We are paranod when we are in the pediatric office that is crowded with kids coughing all over. Tyto is for everyone looking to receive healthcare without the stress of traveling, waiting, transporting and getting sicker in the office.

This product was very useful. it helped me check my kid's health and made sure their health is okay.

Being a mother of 4, this was hands down the best purchase I have ever made! It can be so difficult to get an in person visit with the pediatrician, and kids can't wait when they are sick. You will need to verify with your health system for the compatibility. Novant Health has a great process in place to use this. I have done at least 10-15 appointments this year, and the decvice never fails! It has saved me so much time!

TytoCare is a client and gifted me this device. Here’s my honest review. I haven't had to use the exam kit yet, but I did go through the steps to set it up and it was seamless! The tutorials in the TytoAcademy section are easy to understand and use. I feel that when/if I do need to use this tool, I won't have any trouble with it. My only concern is that my insurer (Cigna) isn't listed. I hope that changes in the future. But, even so, it looks like the cost of using it could be less than using my pediatrician's on-call service, or having to go to Urgent Care or the Emergency Room.

I am amazed at the technology of this unit! I honestly did not expect it to be as amazing as it is. From the packaging, to the training and the device itself, I am extremely impressed. The set up was so easy. I think that everyone should have this in their home. It's so easy to use and perfect for minor illnesses such as colds, flu's, ear infections, respiratory questions. I wish I had this when my son was a toddler and would get repeated ear infections. This would have saved us from having to go to the doctor with my other kids in tow. We haven't had to connect to the doctor yet, but our Tyto is all set up and ready to use when needed!

I have been curious about this product for a while now, and honestly it’s going to be a life saver when traveling. When we travel, someone always comes down with something, and this last trip, we had an issue with ear tubes and we didn’t have our TytoCare yet. I am taking TytoCare on our next trip in two weeks and know it will be helpful. The app is also very easy to navigate and set up the profiles for my family. I hope someday our family doctor will be apart of this program, but I know the one assigned to us through the app will be great too.

Was very excited to use the device seems like a great idea. But in the end return it do to two reasons. First was that it's a very closed ecosystem and I couldn't get access to my own recordings to share with my own doctor. It appears you can only share the examination recordings with doctors in their supported network. that would have been okay even but the deal breaker was that after only a few uses the device stopped charging it looks like the charging connector has a weak solder.

So grateful for my Tytocare, especially since I lived far from hospitals and dreaded 2 hour drives for checkups. You have options to do heart, lung, ear tests and talk about other needs that is related to the condition you are experiencing. They accept multiple healthcare insurances which is also a plus-- and wants to get you connected with your primary provider (given they use the online medical service connected with Tytocare). Another plus is the device pairs with ios and android apps. You do need wifi coverage or access to a hotspot to use the Tytocare device. Since it has to be paired to your phone. Now we have a peace of mind, with no waiting rooms - long drives and access to a doctor at our fingertips (literally!)

It is practical, technology advances quickly and is sometimes very helpful today.

Its the best way of having your doctor close to you when you need it, just a video call away with a way to do a full examination without being there.
