The ilumi smartbulbs are nice. I am glad I got them. I only got two bulbs, thats all I needed, and didn't want to have a hub for them as well, so I decided on the ilumi, since they are bluetooth enabled. --- PROS: * Great colors - Wide range of colors that look good, easy to set up and quickly switch between scenes * Shake - Shaking my phone to turn on or off my lights is just cool. * Easy grouping system - Drag and drop to sort and group your lights together --- CONS: * Short range - Bluetooth gives these about a 40 ft range, so you can't go too far * Not always responsive - Rarely, I'll change a scene, and one lightbulb will change, the other won't * App is archaic - The app needs an update, but I believe one is coming soon * Circadian settings change too rapidly - You can set these lights to follow a circadian pattern, which is great - But the lighting changes are too abrupt. --- I am happy with this purchase, but I don't know if I would fill a whole house with them

This is totally one of those products that you don't know you need until you try it out. First of all, it only took a few seconds to set up and start using. As soon as I turned the bulb on, I noticed that the white light from it made my room look so much better. It was almost like wearing glasses for the first time. If you are wondering, no I did not have really cheap light bulbs before. These bulbs are just so much better. While I have not played around with the additional features such as "Music Sync" or "Torch Mode" yet, I really like the ability to change the color and intensity of the light. Who knew that a dim blue light would be the best for me to take a quick nap? Well, now I know thanks to this smartbulb. All of my siblings are going to get one of these as a stocking stuffer this year.

THE COOLEST BULB EVER! Great colors & easy usage! The color fills up my living room. It also blinks to the beat of music by playing the music on the phone. You can turn on and off the light using the app as well. It's the easiest bulb I've ever worked with and you can buy a $25 warranty that'll last for 2 years and that means they will replace a messed up bulb. Go get your bulb now! You won't regret the purchase, plus there's a special going on now at Best Buy!

My girlfriend had a green incandescent lamp outside on a post lamp. I swapped that out with this lamp and you can easily change the color to pastels, deep purples within the BlueTooth distance, which was perfect standing at the doorway. My girlfriend has 3 teenage girls and they thought it was cool being a pink for valentines day and purple every day after. I bought two for my daughters room and she thought it was cool to change it from a cool white to a warm white to any other hue of color in the rainbow to create a mood, or scene. once you set the color you like, you simply remember it and then when you turn the light on and off it defaults to that saved color. Really cool. The other feature my daughter liked was being able to dim it to a lower light level from the phone.

Saw an ilumi at a friend's house so thought I'd give it a try. Really impressed. Didn't realize how big of a difference lighting could make in my mood around the house. Bright, vivid colors and tons to choose from. An instant fan of the circadian mode. Also really dig the sunrise experience.

I bought the iLumi bulbs along with the Philips Hue system. They are for different situations. I use the philips hue at home. My iLumi's are used at home and in the office. Its easy to carry around so add color. The colors are beautiful, bright and bold. However the bluetooth implementation is a big buggy, and if you got multiple bulbs in one group, not all will change at the same time. Regardless, I use them for halloween (along with the philips hue), and they are considerably brighter than the hue and probably more color accurate too. The blue, red and green colors are amazing. The downside of it being bluetooth, you got to be in the house to work - otherwise it wont change. Setting a timer sort of works, the bulbs have an internal clock so they work by themselves when they have power, but they arent fool proof. Its not perfect but they do work. I like the wake up sequence for morning. I currently use these iLumi's on either side of my photo light box to take pictures of products. Combined with a flash, it adds depth to my pictures. They are as pricey as the Hue, wish they were a bit cheaper. Overall no regrets buying them.

I think the Ilumi is a great buy for any tech savvy shopper. It is fun and convenient. If you are not using the bulb for an entertaining space, I think it may be more suitable for a bedroom given the ease of turning out the light from your phone or using a dimmer setting when you are getting ready for sleep. It also features the option for choosing different sunrises to wake you in the morning. You screw in the bulb, download the app, and you are ready to go. Definitely a cool gift!

I bought this as a gift for my kids (ages 9 and 11). They really enjoy playing with the color schemes. There is also a game like Simon that you can play. The app is easy to use and allows for wake timers. It is Bluetooth 4.0 and has a pretty good range. My only wish is that these were brighter. The white light is not too bad but is the equivalent of a 60W bulb. In other colors, it is not very bright and you could not use it as a primary light source.

The app actually connect all the time unlike Mipow and Misfit. Both of the above mentioned stopped connecting to the app completely. Unfortunately this app lacks the pleasant view/layout of Misfit and both in-app features of mimicking colors in a photo. Loved this feature! This is the only reason 1 point was lost. However it is highly responsive and emits beautiful color temperature. I rather pay more for something that does it's job!

Cool idea but I wouldn't go replacing all my lights. The product works great but I have it in my bedroom and literally have to be in the room for my phone to control it. If I could turn on my lights as I walked up to my front door or even from my living room before getting to my bedroom I would have given it a 5. The colors, dimming, and overall phone app are really great though.

Went to look at the Phillips Hue system but didn't quite have the $199 to purchase the starter kit so I was going to use my $30 in rewards towards their $34.99 Phillips White dimmer kit light so I can have the brightness I need while doing my homework in the rec-room at my computer. I happened to see this light as well as another brand on the shelf as well as a demo unit going through it's demonstration sequences and instantly wanted it when I saw 4 things: 1) The brightness and color temp of the daylight mode was super bright and perfect for what I needed, 2) it wasn't just white, but all colors controllable by my iPhone 6S+, 3) It was just the bulb by itself and no other pieces needed for it to work right out of the box, and 4} It was only $59.99 before my $30 rewards discount of course, and I was ready to go! I will be getting a few more of these that's for sure. I am probably going to also get the Phillips Hue kit but I would get plenty of these ilumi's just for the simplicity and price.

Picked one up to try and the app is simple to download and use. Bulb works really well with great colors. After comparing this bulb to others that were available I decided it wasn't worth 2-3x what other bulbs with similar features sold for. I ended up returning it not because of the bulb itself but the price.

This is a fantastic light. It does everything as advertised and more! I love that I can fine tune the color that I want, and I can even have light settings for when I'm in different moods or times of the day. The app has been improved since I first got it. Overall a great product!

I bought this bulb not knowing to much about them. I am very happy with this product. The wide range of color are vivid! Easy set up with the app, simple yet fun.

This is the second one we've bought. My son loves gadgets and color and loves all the color changes and remote control through an app on his iPhone. A bit pricey but lots of options!

I wanted this because after going through chemotherapy my eyes are extremely sensitive to your average overhead light. With this bulb I can control the brightness and the color with an app on my phone. Much easier on my eyes, so fewer headaches!

I gotta say the light bulb is really cool. The different colors it can light up is quite amazing. But whats the point of having a fancy car without the wheels not working. I'd say the app is the worst piece of software I've ever used. The original app for ilumi was decent when it worked intermittently, but when it stopped working after 3 months, i tried installing the new ilumi app that they recommended (which at the time was still faulty). I couldn't even get the ilumi bulb to be detected to get it synced with the app, with all the proper instructions followed. So fail on the first part. After another few months, I tried to give the new ilumi app another shot, especially since they announced that the new app was fully fixed and running. Once again, no luck at all. Basically the Software Engineers on this app are just trying to put out their never-ending fires for this app. So basically its just a dinky normal lamp light right now, which for $50 is a total scam. Kickstarter backers, shame on you for getting this product funded.

This works great for accent or mood lighting along with actual lights. Nothing like being able to change the color of the light along with how bright it is. They also have effects that change the color and brightness of the light on its own. You can set a schedule for individual lights or groups of them to come on and turn off, what color they are or how bright the lights are. You can also control them from the app. So far after a couple timer issues, all is working well. I have used them for months now. I have three and will be adding more

I really like this bulb! I like that I can turn off the light from my phone and I can create a wake up schedule. The only complaint I have is the new application for the iPhone. There doesn't seem to have the same wakeup sequences (i.e. Different sunrises) and I cannot use the schedule- the app closes every time I try to add to it so I am still using the old app. If they can get the new app to work right I'll give it a 5 star review!

This light is an interesting product. The various colors emitted provide illumination ranging from blinding white to restful and relaxing colors. The app could be better designed - too complicated when you're only using a single light.
