This scanner was very easy to set up and understand. The mute button on the 12 volt connector is very handy. When it detected a band, it was easy to tell which band. The display facing the cabin is very clear and easy to read.

I am providing this rating because I have not had any issues with this item so far. I haven't really utilized it to its capacity; but once I do, I will come back and update my response. I do like the features of GPS enable, speed notification and that it doesn't provide false hits, as of yet.

The reason for 5 Stars, the range of detection for the cost. My R7 vs the R3 both great if don't have to have the arrows and needing to save a couple hundred, Go with the R3. I picked up a KA alert around 2 curves and 2 up and downs over 2 miles away from trooper parked on the side of I40 in NC.

It does what it says it does. It works quite well to be exact. the wife says its annoying. but after she learned about the button on the power connector its not so bad. Install is easy, and it is easy to read.

Love this use it in my daily , picks up radar far away definitely helps keep you in check

Really simple to use. It does the job and is reliable. The mounting bracket also never comes off which I’ve had issues on other radars. Best bang for your buck and will save you on speeding tickets

The features on the Uniden R3 are terrific and can compare to any high end brand costing just half the price. Range is better than anything else I have used. My only criticism is that it has so many features, I'm not entirely sure I am taking advantage of all the bells and whistles. You'll definitely want to read the manual.

wow, this one is so much better than my older $100 detector. Starts picking up the Ka band a mile away. Even if the police is on a side street or parking lot, it'll start beeping a long ways away.

Very quality product. Build is plastic but feels adequate for what it is. Driving on the interstate, it was able to alert me to Ka band from over three miles away, which eventually turned out to be Florida Highway Patrol running speed traps well down the road. Very satisfied with this device's performance!

Good product, price worth every penny, my 1st trip, it is captured 2 hidden police cruisers. it helps you maintain your speed as well. At least when radar detects you have a time to check your speed and continue your travel.

This radar detector is amazing. It has saved me countless tomes. I have only used Escort in the past, I'm sold on Uniden now. Wonderful product.

I LOVE my purchace from Best Buy. The Uniden R3 is the BEST radar detector at this price point. It gives me alerts to radar equipment long before I see the Police, giving me ample time to slow down. I don't speed very offen other then maybe 5 to 10 MPH over the limit on roads that have no traffic. I love the fact that you can change the colors of the screen and the sounds of the alerts to your liking. There are great filters on all the different types of radar. There are different ways you can set up the screen for the information you want to be displayed. There are so many different options that are available on this radar detector, I can't tell you all the ones that are available. Set up is easy. But at this price point and all the bells and whistles that are added, I would expect to pay over $400 for this unit.

I upgraded from an Escort Max 2 to this Uniden R3 and have no thoughts of going back. The range on this is absolutely amazing. I love the customization options you have for this unit from different sounds to colors. If you are in the market for a radar detector this is the one. With this radar detector and Waze you are almost guaranteed ticket free.

This is replacing an Escort Passport 9500ix, which is a decent detector, but this one has slightly better range and not as many false alerts. Like the speed display on screen as well. It is an expensive purchase, but pays for itself quickly when you consider the impact of one ticket, ie: fees, court surcharge, long term insurance increases. Great investment.

Stop looking!! You found the one you need! This baby does it all! I am so glad I read the other reviews and this girlfriend here catches signals from behind! She has got your 6! Highway Patrol, local PD and Sheriff’s have a viable source of income from tickets and a obligation to write them. Even if I am going with the flow of traffic here in So. California, and everyone is doing 10mph over the speed limit, anyone can be cited. Let it be the other guy and not yourself. I pay enough in taxes I do not need to be paying more and have my insurance go up as well. If you have a home monitoring system and do not have this you are giving your money away. Pays for itself the first time you avoid a possible citation situation. They know where you are, you have every right to know where they are. Mine has paid for itself at lest 10x since got it 1 month ago. This Uniden R3 is Awesome!
