Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the ease of use of the 48-Device Universal Remote, citing its intuitive functions. However, some customers express concerns regarding the remote's price and the need for professional programming. Negative feedback also includes issues with compatibility and battery life, particularly in low-light conditions due to the lack of a backlight. While functionality is praised, the cost and potential programming challenges are significant drawbacks for some users.

I have had my share of universal remotes, from infra red to almost every model of Logitech. Most of them have issues. Some much more than others. This remote is a good one, but here are the negatives. Way too expensive. You cannot control or change it on a computer or otherwise. Must have the geek squad to come in and via computer they have things fixed, changed, added through their division. So you cannot re sync it or do anything on your own.The screen is way to small, so if u need glasses and don't wear them, forget seeing anything on the screen..When the antenna device included goes red, u can forget about the remote working.Sometimes u need to change its location.

The remote does what it is designed to do. I wish there was an instructional training video. The instruction given earlier today was excellent (thorough, approachable instructor, understandable, intuitive to my requests AND built upon them), but I am concerned that due to expected time away from the remote I will forget some of the instruction. I wish the screen was larger to permit better viewing. I wish there was background button lighting to permit use in a dim lit room. However, it is wonderful to see the screen of our television and not have numerous electronic equipment about the room. To turn on other equipment from anywhere in the house blows my mind. Thank you for such an innovative remote.

Remote works well. Does control firestick, only turns receiver to channel, so still need that remote. All other features work as described. Happy with that. Bad part is cost of geek squad, $250 to program, claim they can only donit in your house. Which is wrong since they had it all programmed before they arrived be cause I gave them all the info. In house 14 mins for $250 dollars. I'm an elite customer, spending over 4k year. Probably taking my business elsewhere now.

Has made using all our components so much easier, including the multiple zones. Keep in mind, the remote has to be professionally programmed for future add-ons and changes.

We have more than one generation watching TV, so we needed a remote that was easy to use. This one has clear prompts, so everyone is comfortable with it. And it movies fairly smoothly between inputs, which has been an issue in the past. The one challenge is that it has to be programmed by Best Buy, so if you add a component or need a custom setting, you have to go back to them. For us, it's been well worth this trade-off.

Who knew that one remote could be this awesome? This controls the TV, receiver, bluray, surround sound, DVR. There is no need for any other remote. Not cheap, but they program it for you. This remote is awesome.

I was reluctant to spend this much $$ on a universal remote, but researched it and decided to do it. Wow! I am glad that I did! It allows me to use every piece of my equipment without having to 'learn' or 'remember' special buttons. It is the most user-friendly multi-use remote that I have ever used. The only thing that surprised me (negatively) was when I bought it and set it up, I was told that the batteries would last for at least 9 months, but 30 days later I had to replace them.

This is a very good remote. I replaced an older model MX700 which wasn't able to accept codes from some newer components including Xfinity's X1 cable box. Geek Squad programmed all my components. It can't be done by the user, and there is an extra charge for this. The remote works very well. Sometimes there is a slight lag time in completing a command, but I'm not sure if this is a fault of the remote or the component itself. It's very convenient and simple to use.

I changed to the x-7 after my old Remote was damaged from being dropped. It was the only one that had a second zone, out of the ones that was available. It had to be programmed, which was Additional cost, but it works great.

After 2 harmony remotes died, took the plunge and this is so much better. No fancy touchscreen but buttons work better. Would be nice if screen was bigger. Works for my 2 zone setup perfectly.

Excellent remote, very versatile but it requires professional assistance with programming which makes it hard to change with changing equipment which is a bummer. But, I love it. The contact placement on each equipment requires some manipulation and the contacts may come loose so taking pictures of proper placement will help to restick the contacts.

This does not work well with Verizon Fios. I upgraded to this new version of the remote I had, it was very expensive, required installation and still works sporadically. Defying all reason it seems to work better during the day than at night.

while the remote is user friendly I have difficulty turning on the picture. Also when I get the picture I will not get the sound together with the picture. Difficulty may be in the location of the units as set up. How to fix?

Best remote on the market with only 1 flaw

This remote is great! Definitely worth the money. It runs my 2 TVs, 2 cable boxes, Xbox, wii, and sound bar beautifully. No other unit on the market could run both my cable boxes simultaneously. The only flaw, which is a major one is the fact that only geek squad can program the remote. It took a couple visits to get all the kinks out of my system, sometimes you just need trial and error. But the remote doesn't come with the programming software! I was mad that I spent that much money but can't program it myself. If you don't mind needing geek squad to hook it up, this is definitely the remote for you.

It works great, up to long distance and receiver is one floor down from when remote is used. This is the second remote. The screen stopped working (fuzzy and unreadable) on the first one I had. I was replaced under the warranty. Installer had to program remote.

We like this remote because it uses disposable batteries. Our children could never remember to put it in the dock after use and when we wanted to use it...no power. Our children are in their 20's.
