Do not buy into the Life Series!

The Life Series is Verbatim's cheapest method of getting blank DVDs out. These DVDs, with the White Labels, do not carry the AZO dye or logo that you normally see on the label. The media code for these DVD-Rs is "CMC MAG AM3." These are very poor quality, had lots of issues attempting to burn and read, and the data most likely will not last. The original DVD-R DVDs media code that could be found on the previous Orange and Blue labels was "MCC 03RG20." The Orange and Blue labels are top of the line. It is a shame that they are now moving into the terrible Life Series installment.

A point of considerable agitation are those moments after I've recorded a desired program when a "Recording Error" message pops up during the finalization process. The damaged disk can't be salvaged, so it becomes trash. In my experience, bad disks typically account for the loss of about 5% of the total in a Verbatim package. Not terrible, in terms of the monetary loss, but the loss of the recorded data is EXTREMELY frustrating. I've used brands that are less reliable than Verbatim, but I've also used brands that are more reliable. So, while it's unlikely that I would ever be in a situation to recommend a brand of recordable DVDs, if I were, I could recommend Verbatim DVDs as a good value when they're on sale. At full price or in situations where recording reliability is paramount, I would likely recommend a different brand.

I've used many different brands of blank DVD media over the years and I always come back to these. I have found cheaper discs, but the number of bad burns I wind up getting with other brands has always led me back to Verbatim. When you wind up having to re-burn discs because of dropouts on cheaper brand discs, I've found it isn't worth all the extra time, the heartbreaking discovery that something you thought was archived properly needs to be redone, of the worry that maybe the disc you've just burned isn't right, it just isn't worth taking a chance. These discs are still very affordable and they work perfectly virtually EVERY time! That's worth a few mere dollars to me.

This seems to be the only brand of blank DVDs that Best Buy carries at a reasonable price, so these are the ones I buy. They work well, and interestingly, even though the package says they have 120 minutes of capacity, Windows allows you to put 150 minutes on them. The only downside is that because these are a cheap brand, about 10% or so of the discs will be damaged or not working. In my pack of 50, 10 or so were damaged, so keep that in mind if you purchase these.

I have been using Verbatim discs for 10 years! These discs have always been quality and dependable. I won't settle for any other disc. I've done extensive research on quality burns, playback and player compatibility. These discs beat out all the other discs I tested (Taiyo Yuden, Imation, Maxell, Sony, Memorex, Fuji, Sonic, Ridata, Phillips, Leda....). If I absolutely have to use an alternate, I go with the Sony brand. The person that rated these with one star is obviously a newbie to burning and probably needs to replace his burner and not the discs.....

There really isn't much to say about blank DVD's. They either work, or they don't. These work just fine for me. I find it hard to believe that with all of the people in this country that record the news, and other things for a permanent record, that I've heard that companies are soon to stop manufacturing blank DVD's. That to me seems to be a bit foolish. There's still money to be made. But they could be cheaper in price. I would like that.

The most reliable discs in their price range that I've used. I've purchased discs slightly cheaper, but gotten enough bad disc burns and had to throw enough of them away that they really weren't saving me money in the long run. Plus the waste of the extra time re-burning discs that hadn't burned right the first time proved to me even further that using a lower priced product just wasn't worth it. These discs are very reliable and are worth every penny.

These are blank DVDs for putting movies, shows, computer files, etc. on them, and they work well for that purpose. Interestingly, even though the supposed time limit of the discs is 120 minutes, Windows 7 sees them as having 150 minutes of space for movies or music or whatever on them. They discs work fine, but they are priced higher than it would be for the same amount at other stores, so it might be worth it to shop around for them.

I've been using these DVDs for years with very few inadvertant "coasters" being produced along the way. At first I tried different brands, but these Verbatim DVD-R disks were the ones that gave me the least headaches. They work wonderfully for achiving photos, music or any one files you want to preserve. I backed up all my old (VHS) home videos of the kids with these disks giving me no problems.

Randomly running through the pc department for accessories for a pc build. And came across the media disc. Couldn't find any for this price till the sales person pointed his toe at it. Eureka! A hundred disc for 25 bucks. I've found it since for $14.99 but is too lazy to go back for price matching. It's great for transferring projects from my home pc to laptop to continue on the go. No problem with these disc so far...

I even asked my salesman if they were printable. Soooo disappointed they were not, and I could return them, for I had a project for a customer. I tried running a DVD to print in my printer, the print just beaded up and smeared when I touched it. Other than that they recorded well, and play well, just disappointed you can't print on them. Nowadays they should all be printable.

I just finished recording this 100 pack of DVD-R and out of 100 I found 3 to be bad but would still buy and will buy more of the same brand from Verbatim. I did buy these when they were on sale which they are not to often for the 100 but will buy again even at the regular sale price.

i have two dvd recorders and use each one everyday have tried many brands of disks and i have found these to be the best and memorex to be the worst.. but heres a warning sometimes you can get a defective spindle of these so save your reciept and try not to use more than 10 of the defective disc's before returning them or they might not take then back.

After problems with flash drives, I chose to start saving pictures on disks. DVD's hold more data than CD's. I just have to remember to label them. The spools don't take much space and I've never had problems with Verbatim brand items. To some this may be an obsolete form of storage but I don't need the newest or fastest media. This will be sufficient for my needs.

The Verbatrim DVDs are blank discs that allow me to record certain shows I might like to keep. Whether a great sporting event such as the just-completed World Series; or perhaps filming a family event before transferring the images and sounds for family members to also relive that special family time. I appreciated the low price, too.

It was essential that I have flawless reproduction of a video I had as it would be distributed to broadcast networks and video entertainment companies. These DVD products were outstanding and gave me full confidence in their ability to convey the visual perfection I needed. Great product.

Haven't used these yet, but I'm sure they are fine. Have used Verbatim in the past with good results. If you are patient and wait long enough, Best Buy will put something on sale that truly is a "Best Buy". If you go in and just grab something off the shelf, it won't be (most of the time). I would like to see lower printer ink prices.

Recently acquired a new (2009 model) DVD Recorder. Just in time since my Spectrum DVR is not working well and needs to be replaced. Needed no hassle media to record 80 hours of stuff ASAP before we exchange it. Verbatim disks highly rated and work perfectly.

I had some older discs, still new, of a different brand that did not hold up well over time. Wanted to try a different brand so went with these. Was not disappointed. Although the 20 year old VHS quality was lacking due to age of the tapes, the image using my Samsung DVD / VCR combo recorder looked as good as the aged original.

Ran through about 20 of 100 that wouldn't play back after project was burned. Ones that did burn correctly wouldn't play back on standard DVD players. Switched to Memorex and had no problems. Best Buy would NOT stand behind their faulty product citing that this type of media was non returnable. DO NOT BUY!!!
