The mid-season finale is not necessarily shocking, but emotional none the less. Big risk, that so far seems to have paid off. Great series.

Another good first part of season of Vikings. Really like the story lines with bits of real history mixed in.

I’m not sure whether this is Series 4 alone or just part 'A', given there are another ten episodes to come this year? In any case, this increase is welcome, due to the absorbing nature of the show and that there are now three major story threads set in France, England and Scandinavia. The key one of course is Ragnar’s obsession with Paris and his showdown with his brother. There are some epic battles, which seem even more blood-splattered than usual. It's great to see more use of the Long boats too. Also, as usual, new characters join and several actors will be looking for new jobs. Some get their cumupences and as always, there are some dramatic surprises. Ragnar’s story has a bizarre tweak but Bjorn has some great screen time. Rollo’s pre-battle speech is pure, glorious Viking! A cracking series that continues to deliver and sets up some intriguing future developments.

Love this show and watching on a 4K was great !!!!!

"Lights. Camera. Action. Action. Action." If the Vikings actually lived and fought like they are portrayed, we would all be Vikings today! While watching the series, I usually can take a breath before I pass out, but not much else. The settings are as spectacular as the characters are dimensional! I watch these episodes so many times, it's cheaper to buy the season. This V is not for Peace.

The best thing about having this show on Blu-Ray is that you can FINALLY see all of the scenes that were cut out of the USA episodes. Other countries get to see full versions of the episodes but the USA version on History Channel cuts out certain scenes!!. There is ALOT more content on the Blu-Ray than what you see on the TV. Its a great series, I LOVE IT!!

Season 4 continues to keep the interest in the individual characters high, with unpredictable changes in the main characters. Whether Ragnar has the strength and will to continue as the king of the Vikings is a developing question. In addition to great characters and character development, this season continues to offer visually compelling landscapes.

Can't get enough Vikings. I would say that I would like to get the whole thing in a box set, but after watching the season ending episode a few days ago, it is apparent the show is coming back for another season. The History Channel has a winner here and they seem intent on continuing the show. Sale price at Best Buy always gets my vote.

One morning before I recommend this to you this is only the first half of season 4. The second half of the TV series is being sold as volume 2. Which of course is going to significantly increase the cost of owning them. That said this is one of my favorite TV series and I definitely recommend it to anyone who's curious about it.

I was much less surprised to see Rollo finally defeat Ragnar in a decisive, major victory. Simply looking to history takes away this surprise. But even ignoring the history books we can see from the two brothers’ disparate story arcs that Rollo is on the path of a champion, while Ragnar has been sliding into debauchery and pettiness.

Vikings is one of the greatest & most underestimated shows on television! The characters are the most developed & truly draw you into their stories despite not always being the “good guys.” This season transitions from one era to another, & sets up a new generation for many seasons to come

This is a favorite series of mine and I was happy to see it offered on DVD. Very well acted, and the storylines keep you engaged. Also piques your interest in Viking culture.

After the climax at the ending of the 3rd season, this season picks right up where the last one left off. I like buying the Blurays because you can choose to either watch the original version or the extended version that wasn't shown on TV. This alone is worth the purchase to me.

Been looking to buy this season of Vikings since it came out but I did not want to spend close to $40 for it. It finally went on sale at Best Buy for under $20 so it was a done deal. It is a great show and if you like Vikings ( who doesn't,right ), you will not be disappointed.

The legend of Ragnar rages on with yet another trip to England and Paris. Our band of Vikings grow older and past decisions have disastrous effects as the future comes to pass. More battles, intrigue and betrayal bring us another terrific season of raiding.

Season 4 part 1 gives us the backstory on Ragnar's sons which I found very interesting. Of course, we also have the continuing machinations of both the Viking clans and the European rulers and their struggles for power. Makes for interesting viewing.
