I had high expectations for this soundbar. For this price, I thought the sound would come close to that of the Elevate. Not hardly.
I definitely thought it would sound better than the $150 6-year old Vizio I was replacing. Disappointing.
So, I exchanged for the Vizio 2.1 for $200 less. The 2.1 is a better value.

No Smartcast

I bought this system after being told it was Smartcast enabled by an answer on this thread says answered by vizio , after bringing it home unboxing it and setting it up. I found out for myself it is Not SmartCast enabled and I texted vizio and they confirmed this. Said their 799 unit is smartcast. Could not find that in that units specifications either SmartCast is one of the important features i was expecting since the system i am replacing had SmartCast , feel like i got down graded. Thanks for the mis information vizio and best buy

Good sounding soundbar but you need to ramp it up to get any decent bass.Connection problems were many.It took me several tries to get it to connect to my Sony Oled tv.Once connected it puts out very good audio at louder volumes.Its perfect for a small to mid size living room or bedroom Its atmos effects are subpar at best but I wasn’t expecting much in that department anyway.Overall I would recommend this system as I got it at a great price.$349.99 on a Black Friday deal.Well worth that price for what it does.It can get loud with minimal distortion

A lot of people including myself are having audio drop out issues even with the latest firmware update so I can't recommend this sound bar. Vizio is sending me a new one but it's an inconvenience for how much money I paid for this

Stopped Working after 13 days

I have had this sound bar for a total of 13 days. Two days ago the volume was a bit weak. I had to turn it up to 40 to hear my child's cartoon when previously 8-10 was adequate. Then suddenly the bar stopped running audio through any of the hdmi connections. Video displayed fine. The voice assistant for the bar could be heard but no audio.
Even aside from that issue from day one every time you powered the bar down and repowered it up you had to cycle the inputs to get audio to go through Hdmi - eARC
I have returned the bar and will not be purchasing any more Vizio products in the future.

The sound bar audio settings will not save on the tv and have to be changed everytime the tv is turned on which is super annoying. I contacted vizio and they said that this is something they are looking into and there is not ETA for a fix. It has been like this for 6months now. I bought this sound bar thinking it would work well with my TV but apparently that is not the case even though they are both vizio products. Buyer Beware.

If you actually want good quality sound do not buy this soundbar if you want to enable pass through which is the best quality sound this sound bar will delay your sound so you won't actually hear your show till about 5 seconds after it starts no this isn't a lip sync issue this is an issue that happens even after you pause and play do not buy this soundbar called Vizio they were not helpful at all even though it's still under warranty

Sound bar didn’t work out of the box. Called to Vizio tech support, we tried the device on two tvs. Nope, not working. Vizio was very surprised the device was sold new, telling me it was made in 2020. Not sure if that was a factor. I do now know that Best Buy sells products that are very old. Be aware.

While the model number M512a-H6 does indicate that it is a 2020 model, it is possible that the same model is still being manufactured and sold currently. VIZIO sound bars are covered by a 1-Year warranty which starts at the date of purchase. Please do keep in contact with our support team if you continue to experience issues though. Once had a Vizio tv. Thing went out just passed its warranty so i couldn't do anything about it. Was done with the brand then but was highly recommended this soundbar was good for its cost. Well guess what, same thing. Just over a year and the rear speakers quit working. This brand is scammy. Never again.

DO NOT BUY THIS SOUNDBAR. Google "M51A-H6 soundbar just died randomly reddit" and read the reddit thread. Over 100+ people including myself reporting this soundbar just dying and needing to be replaced, some within months of being purchased and some within days. You've been warned!
