Read reviews saying it was the best tv this year. And that was not the case. Simply put...... Worth about $500

...I still feel this TV/Monitor is the best 4K/HDR picture you can get at this price point. And now that I've paired my P50-C1 with the SB4051-D5 soundbar system, I feel like I've got the best home theater set-up for my living room space. Colors and blacks are excellent. Pre-set color temps are great out of the box, although I did play with a few things to help off-set my bright living room situation. Very easy to set up with additional components (cable box, PS4, and direct wire for internet connection). Netflix Dolby Vision and VUDU UHX shows are amazing to watch, but all HD programming looks great on this set. If only Amazon would get on board the Smart Cast train (I'm currently viewing Prime programming via my PS4). Apps on the tablet have improved in the past few months and functionality is becoming easier. It didn't take long for me to get used to the tablet remote as it seems a number of people have reported on. If you use a smartphone or tablet, then this should be intuitive. HOWEVER, the charging dock seems to have died and I'm only able to charge remote with direct wire into an outlet. Unfortunately, the only solution for Vizio is to return the tablet remote along with the dock - you cannot just replace the defective dock on its own. I've already shared my disappointment with Vizio directly and realize I can use my smartphone as the temporary remote (guess I should just be happy that I don't have to return the entire TV). Still, I think there should be a better option available - a small part of the allure for the new Vizio TV/Monitors is the tablet remote.

We had the TV for 5 months and moved it in a short distance(very carefully) and got lines on the screen. When we called Vizio's customer service, they said it was not a manufacturer defect and would not replace/repair the TV. I tried to speak to a manager and they would not allow it and just said "sorry".

I have had the TV about two weeks now and it is very nice. + Great contrast, blacks are black not dark grey. + ps4 games look and play great. + Any content 1080p or greater looks phenomenal. + Supports Dolby vision HDR now and will be updated with HDR10 support.(Marco Polo in Dolby Vision on Netflix looks amazing) - 60Hz refresh rate.. should be 120Hz like the larger models. - Casting is fine, but there can be glitches here and there. - I'm having some lip-sync issues with certain sources. - DirectTV which is 1080i at best, looks good but not great.

The picture cut out after only 3 months use. Plus the Android Tablet is totally useless

I wish I did a more thorough research/review search on my Sony 4K tv I purchased last year. Although that tv is still a good tv, I wanted a tv for basically movies and HD viewing. The Sony has a quality detail picture, useful as a computer display. I needed a tv to watch bluray and connect my Apple TV. The concept of a display was what I wanted. VIZIO makes sense. I own two other Vizio tv. One developed screen issues. SquareTrade covered it with a full reimbursement. An LG I also bought had problems with backlighting. That was a loss, nice tv and magic remote even. Finally I figured one last shot. I tried several Costco Vizios and Samsung. My problem with the previous Vizios was remote control interference with my portable air conditioner. Costco has a great return policy. Samsung makes good tvs but the lower end models feels somewhat cheap. I have learned my lesson about edge lit backlighting, (My Sony tv, flash lighting on corners and black bars. Also poor contrast. It never dawned on me that there was such a significant difference in screen type and direct backlighting, full array light dimming, active led zone. PQ over aesthetics. If I had to do it over again, I would have gone with the LG OLED. This Vizio tv with VUDU content along with decent calibration comes pretty close to OLED, as long as you don't compare it side by side. I have had this tv now for 3 days and prior to receiving this display (it is a display) I watched the Vizio smartcast videos in initial setups. I knew what to expect. Setup was fairly simple. A little time consuming. I agree with other reviews that the tablet is a little tricky to use but like any device, redundancy of use helps. As for glitches, it is expected. I tend to use service reset often (Vizio needs to resolve the ARC compatibility issues with other brand sound bars). As for up scaling of lower resolution content, it is noticeable but not a deal breaker. I have a specific setting for that. Calibration with greater sharpness and detail or I watch something else. The PQ is rewarding, although the Sony has a better viewing angle. My Sony (Android OS) has a decent wifi connection, good for YouTube and Amazon. But the Vizio pairs the tablet with Bluetooth, bypassing wifi to display. I am curious as to how this display will handle updates through the tablet. Right now the only drawback is not having a remote with more buttons for fast forwarding and other functions. The other included remote is limited to power, source input , volume control and picture options. I hope Vizio adds Amazon instant video. I use my iPad for AirPlay along with my Apple TV. My Sony 4K bluray also has content but slow wifi connection. It depends on the app. Does a good job with VUDU streaming to my Vizio Display. I am confident my 5 star rating will stand and this Display lasts. If you are on the fence, jump off. You can always return it. Remember Best Buy gives you 15 days, unlike Costco 90 days. Best Buy offers Geek Squad protection. Costco, SquareTrade. ONLY BEST BUY CARRIES THE P SERIES. THIS DISPLAY BY VIZIO FROM BEST BUY WAS A NO BRAINER.

Start with the bad. The SmartCast and remote don't work flawlessly. The wifi is not great. It constantly bounced full to empty and its only one room away from the router(15ft at most). Not sure if this will be fixed with updates. All my devices work throughout the home except this one. A previous smart tv had no issues with wifi in the same location. For days the remote constantly thought the tv was off, got casting errors, and was frustrating. I added a wifi extender to the room event though its so close and now things run amazing. Now using the tablet works amazing and is a huge advance for watching tv. I love the extra info and the lock screen changing with the content. Hopefully the haptic feedback will be added to all the apps. I have been attempting to replace a dying Samsung Plasma for the last 2 years but have hated every lcd,led. Last tv was the vizio M series that I returned because the screen wasn't that impressive and had issues with the motion. It was also not good in my very dark living room as the blacks especially the letter boxing was bright and distracting. This tv is unreal the black is hands down better than the plasma the motion while not perfect like the plasma is way better than the m series. This tv also shows low res much better than the m series. I thought sub 1080p looked awful on the m series on here it looks great. The picture modes come with judder and motion effects turned off by default this time and are unnecessary which is great since there is zero SOE. The screen is pure white when white and pure black when black, no odd corners or weird coloring anywhere. Bought this tv without even seeing a floor model display because of reading good things and can't be happier. Amazing tv now will just have to see how long it lasts since I'm yet to have a tv survive 5 years.

This tv was nothing like I saw in the store. I was skeptical but reviews were good so i bought. Terrible definition, tracking. I exchanged instantly.

TV had no Co Axial Cable connection. Who Puts out such a TV that requires a Cable box to use

I upgraded my six year old 42" Panasonic plasma to this 50" Vizio P Series. Let me tell you why this TV (ok I guess it's technically a monitor) is so great. First of all, the design is awesome. It features a very thin bezel which is a bit lighter than a black (dark gray). I actually find that I prefer the lighter shade because the wall behind the monitor is lighter colored so when the room is dim/dark the bezel seems to fade away. With a darker wall behind it you might notice the bezel more. Next, the spacing with the legs on the ends. I thought I might not like this design choice, however, when you set it up and have nothing in front of, or under the monitor, it looks like it is floating more than a tv with the stand in the middle (as my old plasma had). I've heard some complaints about sound loudness - no issues here. We live in an apartment and have no need to be cranking up the sound and the side speakers are better than the speaker that was on the back of my plasma. Here's the real reason you need this monitor: ANYTHING that you bring up in google chrome browser from a laptop or desktop on the same network can be chrome cast to the tv. The possibilities for this are endless. I was considering an OLED LG 1080P tv before this. That would have cost me at least $500 more and been not as futureproof as this monitor. I loaded up 4K youtube as soon as I got it - looks absolutely incredible - similar to the jump from 480 to 1080p. Make sure you turn motion smoothing on to keep panning shots smooth. I bought my P50 back in March, about as soon as it came out to Best Buy. Had to go to a specific store to see it on display to make sure it was what I wanted. I know some people have complained about the app, and I could complain about the TV being stuck in stand by mode a couple months after I bought it, but I love it. I hardly use the app, it also comes with a remote control. I use the app to adjust the picture settings when I need, and it was easy to set up on the tablet, my phone, etc. The tablet is used more for games by the kids than to control the TV. I did use it to cast Netflix when the PS4 network was down, other than that, I use Fios TV, PS4, and once in a while cast from my phone. The TV was stuck in stand by, and within a week and a half (partly because of my schedule conflict), Vizio sent out a local TV repair company to fix it, and they were in and out within an hour, replaced a board, and upgraded the firm ware. Has worked perfect since. Picture quality is amazing, easu of use is amazing. I would not spend the extra money for Sony, Samsung, or any other "high end" TV. The only thing I wish was that my Plasma still worked and didn't need to be replaced, or it lasted a little bit longer and OLED TV's cost a little bit less. This TV is absolutely worth the money. Vizio's customer service and warranty works great. Don't buy it for the tablet, or the app, easy work around. Buy it for the incredible picture and the price point.

great blacks ,great color. im very happy with this purchase. rtings.com said in there conclusion that this tv has the best picture quality of any tv they've reviewed to date. try to find a fald tv made by another company at this price,good luck with that. absolutely worth the $. happy with the tablet. though its 1080p screen when you open an app like netflix and the cast icon is at the top i beleive it just tells the tv what to do because it casts 4k shows in 4k. very happy with this set!

This is a great TV for the price. We even got it on sale which made it better. We had an led 3d Samsung that died after 4 years. But we still have our original 32" flat panel vizio after 10 years!!! So we are going back to our roots. Love that the apps are separate from being in the TV. Everything works off of the tablet that comes with it. So the TV runs a lot faster and smoother. And the picture quality is amazing. My opinion is it worth every penny. Why spend the money for the "big" name brand when you can get just as good if not better with vizio!!! The biggest thing i like is that you change the settings on the screen with the tablet so you can see the changes while watching something instead of the screen being taken up by the menu!!!
