Vizio does it again!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a huge fan of Vizio products. I can get reliable cutting edge tech for a fraction of the price from Vizio. This 4K TV has such a beautiful picture. The LED local dimming zones give you excellent blacks. The speakers are not the greatest, but I have a Vizio soundbar for that. The apps are very polished, and the interface is great. The remote is very nicely built, and has a full keyboard on the back. The keyboard lights up, but the front controls do not. I would like to have seen them light up as well. There is not much 4K content out there, but the upscaling engine has amazed me. I didn't expect this kind of results! Everything I watch in 1080p looks so much better upscaled to 4K. This TV is 120Hz, the 60" model on up is 240Hz. But, with this many pixels, I never notice any motion blur. I strongly recommend this TV, as it is the best I have owned.

What you want to know
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simple answer is within this price range (up to $800) you probably can't do better. There are many TVs that are better than this, but not at the price. Pay more and get better scanning (Sony) or pay more and get better picture or features (Samsung), but the key there is PAY MORE. What you want to know is that every TV is a compromise of features, quality and cost. Only by spending a fortune on a reference TV will you get everything. But with that said, you don't really need everything, and what Vizio does right is give you all the essentials without costing as much as the other brands. The picture quality is excellent, can be improved even more with a Blu-Ray DVD calibration disc (not included but I recommend). With or without the calibration, the picture looks great and upscales from 720 or 1080 very well (counter to what I read in a few professional reviews). 5 HDMI inputs are nice, and plenty especially if you route your devices through a receiver. Which would be my next point and recommendation. If you buy this you'll have a beautiful TV. But like with any other TV, the sound won't be beautiful. If you hook it up to a receiver (or soundbar) it will be much higher quality sound. Setting up the TV takes 10 minutes and couldn't be easier. An obvious and clear drawback is that it does NOT have an internet browser capability. It IS wireless and connected to the internet for apps, but not for browsing. Also, the apps are preloaded and currently offer no way to add new ones. That would be a drawback for some, and a reason to consider another brand...but since so many other devices can connect to the web such as a blu-ray player or xbox or playstation, I find it a feature with little importance.

Excellent value for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After much research online I purchased the Vizio M55 C2. It set up good right out of the box after switching the Store Display mode to regular mode. I did make a few adjustments to suit my taste. This unit replaced a 5 year old Vizio 42" which we never had a problem with. Watching the NFL game opener was just like being there in person. Colors were brilliant and picture sharp as can be. Blacks are black and the Motion Blur and Judder adjustments are set to just about minimum. Some reviews state that broadcasts from TV stations appear washed out. This is true of any signal broadcast that is not HD. All channels that are marked HD look great CON: Reason for 4 rating. Didn't realize until I did the setup that there are not any provisions for controlling the cablebox and I am now required work with two remotes. This was done with just one the Vizio remote on the old 42". BAD! Now have to go back to juggling two remotes. Very confusing for my wife and I have to show her every time she turns the set on and off or tries to change channels.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GF told me to pick out a new television....then gave me a budget. How dare she right? Well, after demanding a higher budget, and by demanding I mean begging, I realized it wasn't going to happen. Entered BestBuy thinking I wasn't going to really find anything worthy enough and expected to leave with my heart filled with sadness. There she was...a beautiful 55 inch tv...oh but wait, what was this? ULTRA HD in gold lettering spanned the box, a beacon of hope pierced my heart as I approached. The price! What is the price?!?!?! Hey you in the blue shirt, move out of my way was screaming in my head. The tag gleamed as my eyes honed in the $ came first....then the 9. No, this television cannot be 9k! Then another 9 quickly followed by a 5! IT WAS IN MY BUDGET!!!! $995 ...I could do that....wait..this can't be correct. Red flags and screaming whistles blared in my head. This work of art has to be flawed if they are selling it at this price. With the speed of 1000 llamas, my phone was in hand, by QR code opened and the scan had began. What were the review? What were the REVIEWS!!!! I had to know! I couldn't stand it! Blasted phone provider! Your data always lets me down in times of crisis. Then as if my curse caught the attention of Zeus himself, the screen displayed 4.5 out of over 700 reviews. Relief washed over me as the tension slipped away. "Why yes," I said, "this is the one I will take. Can you ring me up?" And I lived happily ever after because the GF surprised me with a surround sound system too!

Very Good TV for the price point
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first foray into the world of 4K.... This TV replaced a 2011 model Panny plasma which by the way I loved...but I gave that to my daughter. My first impression of the television is that it is a good unit with some limitations. LED's tend to lose some of the color on off angle viewing and this one is no exception, however "in the zone" the picture is extremely sharp and the colors are pretty accurate out of the box and with only a little tweaking the TV "pops" with very nice accurate colors. Combine that with the extra pixels and you get deep rich colors and very deep blacks. They are actually pretty impressive. Understand that these TV's have to give up some things in order to keep them thin and keep maximum picture for the money and that always means less than stellar sound. If you're buying a TV at this price you should be buying it for the picture anyway. I recommend buying a soundbar because the speakers are "tinny" at best. I bought an inexpensive soundbar and it made the TV experience so much better. Easy menu searches, easily tweakable, great price, great picture in the sweet zone, not bad on the off angle....if you're not looking to break your bank for a good TV then this is easily recommendable.

Great TV for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is for the Vizio M-Series M55-C2 4K. I was originally planning to buy a Samsung because they are widely known as the best TVs available. I don't buy TVs often so I was willing to pay a little more for a quality TV that will last a while. However, many of the Samsung reviews mentioned that Samsung was using cheap panels in some of their TVs. At the risk of spending more money on the Samsung name and getting a cheap product, I moved on to the Vizio. It looked every bit as good as the Samsung in the store, but was about $300 cheaper. Several family members have Vizio's and are very satisfied. The online reviews were very good as well. The colors are very bright and the picture is very clear on standard HD cable channels. I haven't watched anything in 4K yet, but that will just be a bonus. I only use the TV as a TV so I can't speak for how it performs for gaming, computer streaming, etc. Sports are very clear and the motion clarity seems pretty good to me. I'm not a hockey fan, but I can actually see and follow the hockey puck. My TV is connected via Wi-Fi and the service pack/upgrade (which I didn't know existed) was added automatically when I set it up. I've only had it for 2 months, but so far I am very satisfied. The TV that my kids use for gaming is old and is getting bad so I may have to replace it soon, most likely with another Vizio.

Great introduction to 4K
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great 4K entry level television. The picture is astounding and you really can't beat the price. The remote even has a full keyboard on the reverse side which makes navigating apps, like Netflix and Hulu, a breeze. It also includes the UltraFlix app that is nothing but 4K content. Very happy with this purchase.

Great out of the box!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a purchase I looked into for some time. The new M series is great and the 4k pic is amazing. For the money it's one of the best/cheapest TVs you can get. Straight out of the box the set up was simple. I looked online for proper tuning and the picture is amazing. I've already recommended it to someone else that I know who is shopping a new TV.

Excellent Decision
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, my decision on this set came down to this 4k Vizio or one of the 4k Tv's made by Samsung. I chose this one, because I couldn't see a $500 difference between the two (although I'm a huge Samsung TV fan) so I went the Vizio. Boy am I glad that I did. The picture quality is 2nd to none imho. Blacks are on point ,color and clarity ARE A THING OF BEAUTY! It's a Smart tv, wireless was very easy to set up...not a lot apps to choose from, but I got the one's that I use most (Netflix and Vudu). No complaints here at all. Excellent TV overall, I've never had any issues with any of my Vizio Tv's.

Great Value!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture is absolutely great. Remote control is also very handy with the keyboard on the back. This 4K TV is a solid choice for the price point. The only thing that I can pick on is that the sound could be louder. I would recommend that someone buys a sound bar or utilize their surround sound receiver to make up for this.

Great tv, one problem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this tv about one month ago. Set up is easy. Adjusting settings is a breeze. Great overall picture for sports, tv shows, and Netflix. Really enjoy the remote it comes with. Has a Nexflix and Amazon button to press for instant access. Only trouble I've had is with the backlight. After about an hour or so (sometimes 10 minutes - 2 hours) parts of the backlighting will start to fade.. usually the left or right side of the tv will be darker than the rest of the picture. Only way to fix this is to turn the tv on and off.. Thus can be super annoying especially if your in the middle of a movie or watching sports.. This is an intermittent issue. After adjusting the backlight settings it will go about a day without the backlight going darker.. it seems to be random when the backlight starts to go out.. Other than that the tv is great would highly recommend. Haven't seen any other reviews with my problem, so please don't let my review steer you away from this tv.

Great TV at a great Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took three models/brands into consideration when making my leap into 4K. I will not name the other two as I feel they all offered a nice TV. I went with the Vizio M55 and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. After a few weeks of research and even speaking with a rep from another TV manufacturer, I went with the Vizio and the biggest reason why was it was the only tv in my range to offer Full Array LED. No other TV offers this technology at these prices. Others offer Full Array in their high end models for THOUSANDS more. Do some homework and find what Full Array offers over Edge Lit TV's and decide for yourself. I'm happy with the set up of the Vizio, menu system, amount of connections, and of course the picture quality. I can't comment on the sound quality as I'm not using the TV speakers, but the picture is stunning. Excellent contrast ratio and with a couple of days with playing with the settings, I can't imagine being happier with the picture with a TV without spending 5K! This is my first Vizio TV and so far, I'm not regretting it. The only downside to this TV, and others on the market, is that everyone seems to be going to a very wide stance on their legs of the set. This won't matter if you're hanging it, but if you're on a table or stand, you need plenty of length to hold the TV as they are not on a pedestal style base. Just make sure your stand is long enough if this applies to you. 43" on the 55" TV.

Epic Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV to go in my bedroom, it's my 3rd 4k Television set. I have a Sony XBR 55 and another Vizio 43" 4k from the same series as this 55". After over two years of using my Sony I was spoiled for 4K over 1080 sets. I wanted a TV larger than 50" for my bedroom but did not want to spend the money on a 1080 tv that honestly is dated tech. So, I purchased this TV. I could not be more happy with the set, it took about 30 minutes. To set up connect, register and calibrate the screen to my liking. Fantastic picture quality, active zone LED backlighting so no hot spots, my $3000 SONY has 2 and its Edge lit.... and a really easy to use remote with a full QWERTY backlit keyboard. My one and only complaint about the TV is the lack of multiple 4K 60hz inputs, there is only 1 capable of 60hz the others are relegated to 30hz in 4k. One other note, if you use the panel in 1080 it will do a true 120hz refresh rate not a gimmick rate. So Blu-rays are really nice! For the price you cannot go wrong with this great budget 4K Television.

Great Picture Quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this TV while it was on sale, and I would like to say that it was one of the best priced televisions on the market for this size and resolutions. I am glad that I got it because it worked really well. The picture quality was amazing. What I liked about this television is that it had 5 HDMI ports and that the remote had a key board on the back so that it was really easy to type. I liked my television a lot, but apparently someone else did too. Someone stole mt tv less than 2 weeks after purchase. :/ But, all I can say is that this television is one worth stealing.
