LED panel failed over only 30 days
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After owning this TV for only a month, the right half of the screen became very discolored because of a faulty LED panel. VIZIO support was initially less than helpful and blamed the problem on "dusty connectors" despite the cables and connectors also being only a month old. In addition the problem happens even with native apps built into the TV (such as Netflix). In fact the problem occurs regardless of the source so VIZIO's insistence on blaming dust has never made sense. After calling VIZIO several times, they had me waste a lot of time doing power cycles on the TV and trying different cables. They finally requested I send them pictures to "prove" the problem and they eventually agreed to replace the TV. But to make matters worse, the replacement is a "refurbished" model with a manufactured date older than the original TV. So in other words, VIZIO replaced my brand new TV with an older TV that likely had been in someone else's home. In my past experience VIZIO is an overall good brand but something went wrong with this line of M55 TV's. I would not recommend this item unless you have a lot of time and patience to dedicate to the VIZIO Support Team and don't mind having your brand new item replaced with something older.

Nice TV but bad viewing angle
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The VIZIO M series 55" Smart TV is a really nice TV as long as you can watch it without being at much of an angle. The picture fades out quickly at angles. My friend has a Samsung that has no fade out at any angle and I now wish I had spent a little more for the Samsung. However, if not at much of an angle it has a very nice picture and I found the sound to be very good. I also really like the remote which has buttons for Netflix, Amazon and Iheart radio media. Just press one button and you are connected to Netflix or Amazon. That has made watching media on these resources very easy and I find myself watching more of them. The remote also has a complete keyboard on the underside which is handy entering passwords and other info. I would not recommend this TV if viewing at an angle such as watching from a sectional sofa (L shape) with loungers at each end but would recommend it if that is not an issue.

Not good at all
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately, we received this item defective. We carefully took it out of the box, and laid it on a blanket on the couch, attached the mounting bracket, and then lifted it to position. When I went to do the set up procedure, it was evident immediately that pixilation damage had already occurred, and it was clear where the damage was. I was able to see the prompts on the screen and move through the set up, but the damage was done. I called the store and they said they would happily exchange it, and accept the return. We then went to return the item to the store the next day. It was wrapped in the protective coating it came in, plus a blanket around it during transport. When we got to the store, the techs lifted it to the counter and plugged it in. At this point there was no display, just clear damage. We were essentially told that we broke it, and we were trying to return it as such. We were offered no option, no help, no warranty, and told to take it with us. I have been a LOYAL Best Buy customer for nearly two decades. This was inexcusable. Not only were we assured that this product was a bigger bang for our buck than the Samsung television we came in to purchase, we were treated poorly and called liars. We have never had this experience here, but I will tell you, we will NOT return to this store. They may be big and corporate and able to afford the loss of us as customers, but this really was disappointing and unnecessary.

Lack of applications
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, GREAT picture. This was our first ever 4k hdtv. However, after bringing it home and connecting to our home wifi, we learned that Vizio preprograms certain apps for consumers to use. I found the grouping of apps hard to follow and less than user friendly once you got one working. We ended up returning this tv and went with a Sony 55" 4k tv which is an Android tv. The Sony is much easier to use. If you are not concerned with using the Apps, then I would recommend this tv.

unfortunately vizio isn't what it used to be
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband is an avid vizio fan, or was. We purchased this tv brought it home all seemed to be ok. with in 24 hours issues started to arrise, the volume would drop out. I called vizio, they had me turn off dolby digital on our directv genie, so I did as instructed. As soon as the sound issue seemed to be fixed, the following day I tried to power the tv on & after 60+ seconds no picture, sound was on but no picture. best buy determined our tv was defectivs, however I wish I had read reviews prior to purchasing. we could have sparred ourselves alot of hassle. I returned the vizio in exchange for an LG 4k and we are very pleased, no.issues.

I expected a little more...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the first day testing the TV I had already realized that the corners aren't not very well iluminated. Looks like it has a lack of light in the boundaries of the TV. The brightness seems to fade out from the center to the sides and top of the screen. Sometimes I feel a bit od lag when I'm using the remote control. You need to point to the TV otherwise it will not work. (I had used other TVs and the remote control worked very well).

Very Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm afraid this TV did not meet my expectations for a 4k device. The upconversion looked worse than 1080i and the resolution in the dark areas of the picture were extremely soft and the purity when displaying an all white screen wasn't good either. I'll be returning this TV in the AM. If you're not too particular, this TV may work for you but having worked in broadcasting for 30 years, my eye says no way.

Took it back and got a samsung
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV because it was A couple hundred dollars cheaper than a Samsung, which is what the worker told me to get. But after taking it home and watching it. There was a lot of motion blurring. I bought the Samsung which is a much better quality TV. There is no motion blurring. I watch a lot of sports, and the Visio was really bad. The Samsung is great!

Could do better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1. Remote control doesn't work if you don't aim it to the low left corner of TV; 2. Built in applications like Youtube freeses and restarts constantly (unbelievable right?). 3. TV loses wi-fi connection constantly while other devices like video games, ipads and cell phones remain connected perfectly. I wouldn't recommend the purchase.

Average tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First to had a strong chemical smell, and called the company, they said this might be normal but will disparate in a couple days. It did not, had to exchange the tv, new one works just fine. Not a high end tv so do not expect miracles with this tv as far as picture quality.

Picture quality varied frequently
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality would vary, depending on the colors in the background. Yellow skin colors were frequently observed and ruined the entire viewing.

I like Vizio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like Vizio, I owned their TVs before. I had to return this TV though because it had really bad sound quality. The sound sounded like there was a piece of metal or static in the speakers.

Not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to to compare it to my Samsung 60in 4K and the picture and sound were terrible. My first HD tv was a Vizio and I loved it, I was disappointed with the quality of this one

Not compatible with Direct TV 4k
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Go with a lower end Samsung or other brands that are now supported. Just spend the few extra bucks. Also the picture is very pixelated even when the settings are changed.
