The colors on this tv were amazing. I install home theater locally and was very impressed by the color and black levels. I had one issue with HDMI Syncing on the 1 HDMI that does HDR. Whenever HDR was on, the picture would drop randomly. also not a fan of the tablet for control That is why i dropped 1 star but Vizio is sending me a new tv with people to mount it on my wall. Very impressed with their service!

Best TV I've ever own'd

I'm not one that likes to spend alot of money. $2000 is insane amount for me to even think about spending on a TV. But i needed a TV and I'm tech savey enough to know that I cannot buy a 1080p TV right now and most of the 4k tvs out there dont have HDMI 2.0. So I felt I needed those specs at a minimum. I was going to get the P series 65" given the review on rtings.com until I saw this one getting released soon. rtings.com praised the 2015 M series so I assumed it would be at least that good and probably close to the P series in quality. I always knew the effect contrast ratio has on the picture on paper but have never experienced it till now, it is so obvious to me now. Ever scene the blacks are so deep and then where theres light the colors pop. Amazing. wish the tablet had a IR blaster and some Harmony remote features (missed opportunity) . If you are looking at a TV in this price range but this one. the competitors even $1000 more don't rival the quality you get here.

I took the risk and got this TV without professional reviews out there to read. I went off last years M series and this years P series reviews. So far I am loving this TV. The picture is excellent but you will want to change default picture settings using your brand new 6 in. android tablet with wireless charger. Welcome to the future of tuner less TVs. IF this TV gets HDR10 support as promised it will be hard to beat this TV and you will be able to thank Vizio for forcing the hand of other manufactures to reduce their prices. This is my first Vizio coming off a 7 year old Samsung so naturally I am concerned about quality. We shall see...

My 2013 65" Panasonic VT60 was struck and damaged by lightning three weeks ago so I had to find a replacement. If you know about televisions, then you know that the best black levels come from a plasma television, which they do not make anymore. (OLED have AMAZING black levels but are way out of my price range)
I have never liked LED televisions due to the fact that most of them are edge lit and the black levels are terrible, making the picture looked washed out.
Long story short, this Vizio is AWESOME. It is back lit from 64 different zones so there is NO BLEEDING!!! The picture is amazing and the black levels really pop. I paid over $3000 for the 65" plasma three years ago, I go this 70 INCH for $1700 (on sale) and I could not be happier.
If you are on the fence post, get off. I highly recommend this television.

Only 1 HDR Port and it doesn't work w/ Xbox One S

I absolutely LOVE this TV and at its price point you'll never find anything nicer! Vizio makes a beautiful product and you get a free Android tablet with it, though I wish the chromecast worked better!
The one very disappointing thing for me is that the M model only has ONE HDMI port that supports HDR, which is a huge bummer for me. The other frustrating part is that I did my research THOROUGHLY and NOWHERE on the Vizio website does it mention that only one port supports HDR. I called them pretty ticked off about that. I could have spent $1500 more for the P model which has 4 HDR ports, but I decided to save the money and be grateful for what I have. Other than that I absolutely love the TV. Video games also run and look incredible on it.
P.S. BEWARE! The XB1 S is not optimized for this particular TV yet. When I have HDR turned on the screen goes black for a few seconds every 5-10 minutes. It's extremely annoying and such a let down. I have faith that Vizio will fix the problem via a firmware update but they haven't yet.

This is our 5th Vizio TV -- we keep getting larger sizes and have never been disappointed with the M series. One complaint that has annoyed several people is that the newer models now use Android (i.e., Google) software/apps instead of Yahoo software/apps. This means it does NOT have the NETFLIX app!! But all you need to do is stick in an Amazon FireTV stick or box and now you've got not only all your Prime stuff at hand but also Alexa, Netflix, and lots more.
Pay attention to which HDMI port you use if you intend to stream or display 4K content. We had to experiment a bit to find the correct port because Vizio's online information and the TV's manual disagreed on whether 4K was port 1 or port 5.
This TV does not have a tuner, but we don't care because we already use a DVR for broadcasts and streaming for everything else. Use a hardwired ethernet cable if you can. We have a small router that connects the various devices (Vizio TV, Amazon FireTV, AppleTV, Wii, DVR) to our main router. So one cable coming out of the wall is enough.
Picture on this TV is great. Once you find a true 4K show, you can see how impressive this one is. We used a "tuning" DVD for the picture but found that the factory settings were already fine.
The TV is so light-weight that we were able to use the slimmest wall-mount that Best Buy sells, the Sanus super-slim fixed wall mount. Definitely recommend this TV given its features, performance, and price.

Like Watching a Live Stage Show
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The first shows we tuned in were the latest episode of AMC's "H E double L on Wheels" (can you believe that BestBuy won't let me spell the actual name?) and an episode of "Bloodline" on Netflix. We were immediately wowed by the striking realism of the images, due mostly to the depth created by Vizio's precise display of side-by-side lights and darks, what I guess an artist might call chiaroscuro. Sports are great too. Our old TV was a 60" Sony Grand Wega (720p, 1080i). The VIzio upscaling to 2160p gives an even sharper image.
One negative which I hope will be corrected soon, concerns the inability to view DolbyVision feeds from Amazon. It seems that Amazon and Google have yet to agree on terms for an Amazon Google Casting app, so in the meantime you have to use an intermediate source like our Sony WiFi-capable Blue Ray player to watch something streamed from Amazon since Vizio's Google Tablet must have a casting app on it in order to stream a source through it to the TV.

Where's my remote control?
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Vizio is going to chime in with a canned response, but they're silly. Bring back the remote control. Using an Android app for controlling a display is clumsy, cumbersome and inconvenient. Want to adjust motion blur? Well, you have to have a Google account for that because the app needs updated. I plug an AppleTV, a Mac Mini and a laptop into this thing. Surely Vizio is in league with Google here to drive customers to ChromeCast (or whatever they're calling it). It's dumb and it is severely offputting when to have to update software to make simple settings changes.
Now, let's see the canned reply: "We realize this is brand new technology and it takes some time to get used to it. That’s why we’re committed to continuous improvement which is going to make VIZIO SmartCast™ the best streaming experience and easiest way to control your display from anywhere in your home."
Ridiculous. Give me a remote control. It worked fine on the last TV. This doesn't take time to get used to... It just takes time.

Great Display & Value

I bought this display a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it! The 4K picture is incredible and so much better than my previous TV. It is very bright and crisp. So bright I have to keep the brightness and back lighting down for my preference. Setup was very easy and tablet remote is fantastic. Being able to Cast all content from all devices is fantastic and I have had no issue with any content or service. Works great with my Apple TV, Sling TV and VUDU. The tablet is very intuitive and makes using the display very easy. And again so simple to Cast what is on the tablet onto the screen. Can not say enough about the quality of the picture, 4K content is incredible and upscaling of non 4K content is fantastic. Overall, very happy with this purchase and compared to the other options it is a great value for the price.

No XBox One S HDR & Only 1 Hmdi with HDR/ARC

Great TV, Nice Pic - Netflix works really well from their included table the Vision HDR is available in some of the Netflix options, the frustrating issues are: No Amazon movie video app due that it uses Google Chromecast, Only 1 HDMI ARC that doubles as HDR this causes an issue when more than one devices needs to use that same Hdmi 1, like on this scenario the Xbox One S uses that HDMI 1 (HDR) and the new Vizio sound bar 5.1 uses the same HDMI 1 (ARC), one must be plug to other connection, on my case the sound bar to the optical port which is not as friendly when working with my other devices attached to the TV and the HDMI is suppose to be better quality for this type of Home theater. The real issue is that I chose the Xbox One S over the PS4 VR so that I could watch the HDR movies; but as the other reviews noted once the subsampling option in the Vizio is enable for the HDR to work including the Games the screen goes blank for 2 seconds or more. Microsoft blames the problem on Vizio and Vizio on them.

The TV is perfect for someone looking for a larger sized tv thats not very expensive. The colors are good but not great and feel a bit washed at times.

HDR does NOT work on HDMI port 1
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Bought this TV for 4k & HDR with an Xbox One S. After spending 2 hours on the phone with Vizio & Microsoft, I've come to the conclusion that their latest software patch 2.0.13.13. does not fully support HDR 10. When you turn on color subsampling on hdmi 1 (Only HDR port) ,the screen goes blank for 3-5 sec and turns back on.
It can be random at times, but for the most part at least 5-7 times per movie. Turn color subsampling off and it stops. Visio finally agreed it’s an incompatibility issue which they don’t have a newer firmware estimate at this time.
If a software patch from Vizio does not come out in the next 30 days, this tv will be returned for a Samsung. It's unfortunate, because this TV at $1800 is the best bang for the buck if they can fix this HDR issue.
Not sure why there are so many positive reviews on this tv, unless you simply are not taking advantage of HDR with a 4k external player just playing reg 4k.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU BUY THIS TV!!!!
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
BUYER BEWARE!!! Please read my review, save yourself some heartache and headache and stay FAR AWAY FROM THIS SET!!! I bought this television after reading MANY reviews, on multiple different websites, I knew of the few issues, but I had no idea how extensive they really were when it came to the reasons I actually bought this TV. If you want quality 4K picture and HDR you do NOT want this TV. If you want to play 4k Blu Rays on your XB1 you do NOT want this tv. If you want to play HDR content via your PS4 Pro you do NOT want this TV. I knew from day one that HDR10 was an OTA update, and I knew going in there were some compatibility issues with the XB1 S and HDR. Little did I know these issues actually extend to the 4k specs as well.
Every 10 seconds with HDR on you will experience black out on your PS4 or PS4 pro, or you'll receive a snow screen as if you have no signal. You'll get this this on your XB1 and XB1 S as well. Updates have since been given to help, but they have actually made it worse. Now sometimes with HDR on my TV will go completely black and cannot be turned back on without first turning the TV off and then turning it back on.
I of course reached out to customer service and sent pictures of my issues and in depth explanation of having used MULTIPLE EXPENSIVE HDMI cables and trying various resets and trouble shooting. I'm savvy with this stuff, so of course sifting through forums and the like I did first before contacting Vizio. I spoke with someone who was fairly helpful and after a few back and forth emails she setup and exchange. I get the new TV and immediately get the same issues, so I'm thinking.. okay, maybe its a source issue. I fully reset my PS4 pro and XB1 S to original settings and hook them back up and nope still an issue. I have 4 other televisions in my house, and they do NOT have the same issues on those sets. With the new TV though I started experiencing issues with HDR OFF. This being extremely troubling I contacted the same customer service rep and this time created a YouTube video, she immediately sent me out a new set. This new set was wrapped in blue tape that the installers didn't take off, the first TV was sent in clear tape. I should have taken that as a red flag, but I start using the TV and bring my Oppos player downstairs to this TV from my Sony upstairs and use the 4k and HDR and have no issues. I take the blue tape off and there is damage on the bottom of the screen. Upset now, I get on the phone with Vizio and they make me run and jump through hoops to say that its a source issue and not their TV. This is terrible, I've used multiple HDMI cables, I have multiple TV sets like everyone else in America and I have NO issues with HDR or 4k on any other TV. They offered to replace my TV one more time or to have someone come out and do an onsite inspection. I told them I want to replace the TV with a different Vizio model and I'LL EVEN PAY THE DIFFERENCE. They refused, they refused to refund as well. They want to keep giving me the same bad TV that is NOT functional with HDR or 4k programming and the positive reviews on this site I can guarantee you are people not using HDR or true 4k content. My Oppos player is the only HDR piece of equipment that works on this TV which shows me its a TV compatibility issue with PS4 PRO and XBOX ONE S and something that will not be rectified. I wasted $2k on this TV and gave Vizio a chance, it was a huge mistake and I BEG EACH OF YOU NOT TO DO THE SAME. DO NOT BUY THIS TV, GET A BETTER TV... do NOT be a bargain shopper! If I don't sell this TV 2nd hand it'll go in my garage and be replaced with a set I know is functional. I could not be more disappointed with the treatment, and overall terrible experience of this product and again beg each of you to NOT BUY THIS TV.

The Visio M-series really is as good as the reviews say. I almost bought a 70-inch E-series at a discount store but happy I paid $400 more for the better one. Only irritation is that the TV and sound bar (also Visio) were harder to set up than they should be. Once running its been great.

Great TV - Bad HDR Support
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I purchased this TV for its 4k & HDR capabilities (with an Obox One S). It seems an incompatibility is in place. I have spent hours on the phone with Vizio & MS. When color subsampling is enable (for hdmi 1)-which is needed for HDR, the Visio screen goes blank (audio and video stop) for a few seconds then returns normal video. It will do this every so often. Turn color subsampling off and it stops. Put the Xbox on other ports or use another device and all works fine. But the moment color sampling is back on video starts to acting up. MS insists it’s a Visio issue. Hours and multiple calls with Visio and they agree it’s an incompatibility issue which they don’t have a newer firmware for so nothing can be done at this time. TV already has: 2.0.13.13. So I am a god amount of money on the two devices just so I could use HDR and it can’t even be done. So if you want to buy this TV for its HDR capability I can’t suggest it.

I want to love this " Home Theater", buttt.....

So, I considered myself tech savy, until I got this "theater display". I had a 2015 E series model, until I started seeing white spots on the screen, and Best Buy replaced it with this one. (I paid a little more to upgrade to the M series). I am not happy with the tablet remote at all. It does not always have connection, which could be my internet provider. I also wonder about the storage space on the tablet included. I really wanted to love this set, because the picture is phenomenal, but we are big time Netflix, Hulu and Amazon streaming watchers, (I could deal without Amazon, I have 50 in Vizio in my bedroom)and the tablet remote is so inconsistent, I want to throw it against the wall....but unlike my old remote, it would break. Basically I'm unhappy with the un-user friendly tablet that the display comes with. Not to mention, my 7 and 12 year olds are not allowed to touch it because I'm scared they'll break it. I plan to download the app to their personal tablets, maybe they'll have better luck at navigating than I do. I still may return the set if I don't get the hang of it. Wish me luck.

Do not buy this TV unless you want lots of issues
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I don't even know where to begin. I would give this zero stars if I could.
When it works its a nice TV. I repeat myself again... When it works. My TV worked for a few months but then nothing but issues.
Firmware bugs, misbehaving HDR, HDMI sync issue, audio problems and much much more. Had my unit serviced which fixed absolutely nothing and the issues actually got worse. Support is worthless and makes you wait months and months for firmware to fix issues that it does not even fix like support states it would and just causes more issues. Promised callbacks yet no one ever calls you back.
Eventually they replaced my TV with a recertified TV. Shortly after delivery I have nothing but more issues, supposed firmware update coming to fix it. Firmware releases and the TV works a week and then video goes out completely. Overall I have had a broken or partially working TV for months on end.
Vizio finally agrees to replace my TV with a brand new one, but then they realize they dont have any of my model so they try to pawn off a cheaper TV on me with reduced HDMI Ports, LED zones and other specs. If you going to replace my TV with a brand new one it better have at least identical hardware or better. Dont try pulling a fast one on your consumer given them a lesser quality replacement.
Argued with them and they finally tell me they will just refund all of my money but it could be 2 to 3 months before I see it. If you want a reliable TV do not buy Vizios TVs. Once they have your business their support is horrible and they will do everything they can to avoid helping you unless its to their advantage. One of if not the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I hope you read my review and take my advise. If you risk buying a Vizio your playing with fire. While it works you will be happy but when it breaks, I say when you will regret your decision to ever give them your business.

I've had the M70-D3 for about 6 months now and love it. I use the directv remote and have a laptop with a wireless keypad and mouse to watch netflix and amazon prime, so I never have to use the vcast remote. In fact it hasn't left the charger in months. I do use the little remote to switch between hdmi inputs. The picture is extremely satisfying and color looks good on all channels and media types. I had reservations about going with a lower cost 4ktv when I bought it, but now I'm very happy I didn't dish out 500 to 1000 bucks more for a 70 inch tv I might not like as well. My wife loves it too.
