I purchased this to replace an older cordless phone that stopped working. I ditched my landline years ago and went with Ooma, which is hooked up to all of the phone jacks (disconnect from the street first). It works just like any other phone. Calls are clear and it has great wireless range. The only downside is that the charge indicator light does not flash when there is a message. The only indication is an envelope that appears on the display. I have several Uniden cordless phones and the charge indicator light flashes on those when there is a message. Maybe Vtech will add a message waiting light on future models.

If you still have an old fashioned home phone hard line with a wall outlet mount, this phone is for you! Plus, it has a second, satellite phone to place anywhere. The phone receivers are both wireless. The base unit can sit on a counter or mount on your standard phone wall mount jack. Mine fit perfect. This unit can use your provider company's voice mail. It works perfect for me. Great unit! Highly recommend! Go for it!

The phones work great. The only thing I wish I could change is that you can't hear the message as its being left. I like to monitor my calls and only answer if it's someone I want to talk to. With these phones you have to stop what you're doing and actually look at the caller ID to know who's calling.

Bought these because we had no home phones, but had phone service that came with our cable package. I didn't expect too much phone these phones due to the lost cost, but the few times that we use them the sound quality and range was fine.

WE LOVE THESE PHONES FOR OUR OFFICE. WE HAVE EASE OF USE WITH THE FEATURES INCLUDED AND THEY ARE THE PERFECT ADDITION TO OUR OFFICE. NO COMPLAINTS!! THE LARGE SCREEN IS A PLUS!

I went without a home phone for years so my cable company gave me a deal that included a home phone. I have less than perfect cell service at my house so making call was a challenge as the signal would be in and out. I was looking to have 2 handsets and a speaker phone so when on hold I don't have to hold the phone. The CS5119-2 has a very nice clear speaker and 100% improvement over using my cell at home. The unit seems to be well built for a basic home phone set up. The handsets stay in the unit so can't report on battery life but very happy with the phone so far. Glad to have a usable phone when home and don't have to hope I get a decent cell signal. If your looking for a decent home phone at a decent price the VTech is a good choice. I did not get a phone with an answering machine as my cable company has voice mail included.

It was super easy to set up as we had a phone line that just needed to be plug in.

I was looking for a simple phone system that would work with my present land-line and I have been pleased with VTeck in the past. It was easy to set up and works very well with my present system. As I said in the summary, Exactly what I wanted for a fair price.

The phones work good. It is convenient to have two phones as they can be put in different areas of the house.

This is a good phone no static can walk pretty far from the base. Clarity is good, to summarize a good basic phone! Nice price point for a cordless!
