This wd passport is a great hdd, but in August 2015 only 1TB? The price of the hdd is good at $69. As I am a buyier of space not speed. Wd is one of the best brands never had issues with this brand have been buying them since 2006 for my computer storage needs. The only thing I wish is 1.5 or 2tb but the speed is still quick enough. I added this one to the play station 4. I still have about 840gb of useable space. I will tell anyone with a ps4 to buy this hdd.

This was a simple install. It perfectly replaced the crashed hard drive in my PS4 and has allowed me to use it again. It also gave me a sense of fulfillment knowing that I fixed it myself. It was great that the local Best Buy had it in stock, which really reduced the downtime.

A solid 2.5" laptop hard drive. The only real drawbacks are that it spins at 5400 rpms, and has a cache of 8MB. Granted, for the money, those are honestly minor flaws. The hard drive is a solid performer, and start up [for a 5400rpm drive] is somewhat quick: opens to Linux Ubuntu 14.04 in 20 seconds (or faster). Additionally, the ability to save up to 1 terabyte of data is simply awesome. If it had a larger cache and/or spun faster, it would be a true 5 star drive. Heck, some would say that it already is a 5 star drive, when you consider the cost. If it lasts for over 5 years without a blip, then I would gladly upgrade my rating to 5 stars...so far, I've only had it for a few months...

It's a good size drive at a reasonable price, easy to install (though that would depend on the laptop) and it works.

So far it's great. My old HD went out. Swapped it with ease with the new WD drive from Best Buy. A little cloning, and it's like a new box to be honest. I have not done any homework on this HD prior to buying it, i.e. I just bought it because the price was good - and it worked! Cloning might not be easy though for just anybody: my job is cyber security and hardaware/firmaware programming, so I knew what to do)))

The hard drive burned out on our PS4 so I purchased this. It only took a few minutes to install ( super easy) and it runs great. The price was great too!

Very good hard drive for the price. The size and speed of the drive is very good for the cost.

Had serious problems with my laptop; Geeks found the problem was a catastrophic hard drive failure. Fortunately I already had everything backed up. Geeks swapped in this Western Digital 1TB hard drive as a replacement, restored the OS, and I was back in business (after reloading programs, of course). Aside from the major annoyance of the computer problem in the first place, I couldn't be happier with the fix.

I bought 3 of them so far and it did satisfy me. I used to buy the other brand but this one is more reliable.

This is a very quick hard drive for the price I’ve always used WD Hardrives for their cheap prices and great quality hardware

I am a UCF student who is a very hard worker and my computer had everything on r since 2012. I never backed it up until now I know yo always do so because it crashed and I lost everything. This is the worst thing that can happen to a very studious student especially when you take all your school notes on your computer, etc. Anyways, I went into Best Buy to get a second opinion at geek squad and said the same exact thing that they could not retrieve anything, they really did everything that they could to help out. As a student we are broke,and I was trying to figure out financially how I was going to pay for my computer new hard drive, and the installation. Geek Squad knew I was under the impression of having financial problems and was able to relieve me and discount me. I was thrilled. But the amount of work the squad went through with me coming back and forth and changing my mind because my computer was everything to me I really do appreciate them. They were all so very friendly and always asked me if I needed anything, answered all my questions and explained to me the process and comforted me during the situation. I was so blessed to have such a great team to work with. Shout outs to the best geek squad at Best Buy at Waterford. And their wonderful management. My computer has been working great since and I have my old hard drive if one day I have the finances to retrieve that info.

Bought this to fix a buddies ps4 hard drive error and worked great, I cant remember if I had to format it pre install or if the Playstation did it for us but we got it worked out.

Upgraded friends laptop and doubled the storage space. Quick easy install. Great drive.

I recently replaced my Mother's old laptop hard drive with this product and it works so much smoother and so much faster than before. This is a brand I will come back to for years to come. I'm definitely a tech nerd and I love more storage for computers and especially for laptops.
