Although I would never used any thing but a SSD these days for a computer our Tivo hard drive crashed. Tivo has made it so easy to replace the hard drive with the Roamio that I decided to repair it even though it's almost five years old. I prefer Western Digital hard drives because they stand behind their warranty. In 25 years of using Western Digital hard drives I have only had to use the warranty one time. The drive is plenty fast for all applications.

One morning Windows reported that my storage drive was failing! I was in the middle of a project and, although my data was backed up, I decided I needed to replace the drive ASAP. I drove to Best Buy. A nice fellow helped me choose a drive and get back on my way. Formatting and file transfer went well and the drive is running fine. So the computer was up and running with the new drive in just a few hours vs. the next day. I was glad to have a Best Buy nearby. The drive isn't fast (5400 RPM isn't supposed to be) but it's cost-effective for storage.

Western Digital lived up to its reputation with this particular model. 3TB is a good price point at $20/TB above a $40 base price. Incremental pricing is higher than $20/TB for larger capacity drives. I use it to store media files. These files are displayed on my large LCD TV via HDMI link to an android-based computer with an internal bay that accommodates this particular drive. Note that android would only recognize the drive after I formatted it on a Window's machine first. Instructions say that the drive must be formatted on either a Windows or Mac platform.

I have been building computers for 20 years and will only use Western Digital Hard Drives. They are the best and have given me the fewest failures of any brand over the years. I presently have 18 WD Drives in service on my home networks and all are functioning

Placed in a LaCie Raid, fired right up. Lots of space No need for speed.

Work as described. Size is enough for my needs and then some.

Could be a bit faster but for the price, I cannot complain. Works pretty well and installed in a few minutes if you have done it before. I would buy it again or recommend it to anyone looking for a mid-range internal drive.

For the money spent, you can not go wrong with Western Digital. They have a great service life, very few failures, and run right at the max speed that they can. I will continue to use their products for as long as I keep building my own personal computers.

The disk works great so far. The computer I installed it in could only "see" 2TB, so I downloaded the WD install software to make the machine "see" the other portion of the disk as a separate drive.

Drive works fine. Barebone drive only - nothing else. Installed in PC fine. 2.72GB true capacity. 5400RPM. Purchased at a good sale price.

Online specs did not contain info on rpms. Texted Best Buy help on-line and was told it was 7200 rpm. Picked it up in store and it was 5400 rpm. Best Buy should have at least one high capacity, fast drive in stock. Disappointed by wrong information and lack of options.

Used this harddrive to mod an original xbox. Works great with lots of storage and very fast.

Works as advertised. No problems or issues after 3 months.

The WD 3TB Hard Drive SATA works great in Mac or PC computers.

Sure I could have went with an SSD but for a secondary and lots of storage, you can't go wrong. Price was great too!

This is my second green drive works great easy install.

Great drive. However, you need to understand that Windows won't let you set up anything over 2TB as a boot drive unless you turn UEFI on in your computer firmware. If you don't do this, the drive works fine, but you only have access to 2TB. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, search UEFI and read up.
