I've had two of these for a few years, now. They are great! Trouble free and reliable for backups and storage.

The hard drive is mostly fair (good "value" for storage capacity), but the startup noise is going to keep me from ordering another or recommending it to anyone else. The hard drive spins down about a minute after starting up if it isn't in constant use, and then it spins back up a minute later with a 10 second long set of noises --- whirring, clicking, and grinding. I don't know if this is the light noise other users are referring to but I am going to have to unplug it except when backing up at night if this isn't fixable. I have a WD Elements and it doesn't do this. It may be a problem with the apparently cheaper-made Best-Buy-exclusive Easystore product line. Note that to use with Mac OS it has to be reformatted with disk utility, which you might well have to do anyway to update a HFS+ formatted drive to APFS. This process took me about 60 seconds.

Bought this back in April before prices jumped up and it is working flawlessly. Also quieter then my previous drives. If you need lots of space than this is the drive for you.

This is a great hard drive and it serves me well. I have always had good luck with the WD easystores and so with this one.

we bought this for my wife photo business. she filled up 2 4tb hard drive. motor is a little loud on start up. great product

Replacement for a full 500 GB drive. Similar footprint, so far so good.

Good for nas, just take out the disk from it and move to your personal nas system, to get a better storage resolution
