Good external drive to store media on. Drive is much to slow to use for anything else. We will see how reliable it is, but a couple months in, it is working great

Works great, just make sure you have a spare outlet handy.
Also be careful to keep it somewhere that gets unimpeded air flow as it gets HOT when under load.... Not enough to damage it if it has air, but if the vents are blocked I imagine it'd toast itself quickly.

Great as always but WD backup I used for the smaller drives would not recognize this drive. There is an Acronis backup they suggest but it slowed my desktop down after I installed it, so I am looking for another backup solution. Don't need a bunch of Acronis tasks running just to do backups.

I thought these were okayish until I had the opportunity to use some Seagate HDDs for a work project a couple months after I purchased the Eaststores. I now realize that the Easystores are significantly louder than the Seagates and are certainly louder than the Toshibas I have seen. I thought all 3 were comparable, but I couldn't have been more wrong. These are LOUD, so loud that it's very difficult to work in the same room as wherever these are stores. By contrast, the other 2 manufacturers are nearly whisper quiet and have none of the constant clunking you get with these drives.
When I told BB about my discovery that these products were essentially defective in their loudness, they refused to consider a return even through they only arrived about 3 months ago. So, a terrible in-house product backed by terrible in-house support. Great work, BB.
These aren't even cheaper than the alternatives anymore. Just save yourself the time, money, and sanity and avoid all Easystores in favor of the more reliable (and quieter) alternatives in Seagate and Toshiba.
