It's a known fact that external storage jips you around .5-1 TB, that's to be expected, but to lose about 2 TB of storage is very annoying. 16 TB is good storage, but really, I wish they would advertise what a person can really use instead of what one "ideally" can use.

Purchased one and received a broken power supply cable. BestBuy support basically said return or exchange it. In-store employee said the product was sold out and couldn't exchange it until it was restocked. Waited a week till the product restocked on the BestBuy website went to nearest store to have it exchanged, employee said not it's in-stock on their end, so I had to return it before 15 day window closed.

Storage device stopped working. Changed USB cable, and power supply. No success, changed USB ports and entire computers. Still no luck. I contacted BestBuy support and was informed that they don’t support any products past 15 days. Next time I’m going to skip BestBuy and purchase direct from WD or any other manufacturer; especially since I’ll need to contact them anyway in the event of a product issue that involves invoking warranty. To be honest, Amazon would have either replaced item or credited my account; even outside the return window.

Drive is noise, has constant clunk sound every 10 seconds, when drive wakes up it’s even louder. Speed is decent for mechanical drive.
If you are sensitive to noise do not buy

Bought it in June. Loved it until Novemeber when it crashed and started only showing a capacity of 8TB for… reasons? and WD’s customer service has been less than stellar. To be fair the customer service thing is ongoing (2 phone calls and counting!) but still, I’m not sure I’d wanna recommend this thing to anyone.

Great product. I really like WD, and Seagate. For this price point its a good value
