This is a great drive for backups. However is you're planning on using this as your primary day-to-day drive, you will be disappointed with the performance.

I am using this as a temporary backup drive. The file transfer on a USB 3.0 Portia great and the drive is quiet unlike many others I have used previously.

I bought this 2 years ago for my movie collection and I still have 2tb left and it is still running like a champ.

Western Digital is the best. I've never had a hard drive fail on me. That's why I keep coming back for more.

I bought the 10tb My Book as an upgrade to an older model 4tb My Book. Is being used as an external storage for my Xbox One. Seems to work so far. Only complaint is the drive makes a wobblying sound when it spins up. Like it's off balance. Didn't have this issue with the older model My Book.

I have used this model for 2 documentary so far. Great drive make sure for leave about 10% free if you planning to put a lot of media on this.

Does the job for backups, should be a blue drive inside unlike the reds in others which are meant for continuous "on" mode.

if you need a good external drive then this is where to go. Love the WD brand and haven't had any issues with them

I needed this for backing up files. Data transfer is pretty quick.

WD makes a good HDD (I believe better than Seagate) the only thing is it is not factory default formatted as NTFS but exfat

Product worked fine for a few months. Began to make a grinding noise that was unpleasant. Also couldn't get the internal apps to work half the time. The first 2 months, everything went fine. Not sure what happened. Could had just been a bad batch of product. I typically stick with WD items for backup purposes. I would recommend this product, but I'd go ahead and purchase a warranty with it, just in case.

Software would not recognize hard drive. Had to go to support to get it working. Had same problem on three of my computers

Just wish I would have got this earlier. Works great, no problems after a month. Worth the money and peace of mind.

Will last many years I'm sure, plus the replacement from WD HD is very honorable from past experience indeed.

Great product. Value is ok, not great, comes with security suite not available on the other version, but a little excessive

This is a great hard drive to back up any thing that needs backing up like your laptop or other hard drives.

I bought this to replace a dying Seagate that was less than a year old. So far so good. Let's hope it lasts!

Use 2 of them for a backup work great. Have 2 more 6tb on system I trust wd never had one go down.
