just wanted a backup device

However, I could not figure out how to set it up on my Macair. Even a friend who is more tech savvy couldn't do it. I had to take it to a computer store to install the software. Now that I've figured out how it works, I guess it is. But I wouldn't know how to check.

So disappointing!

It asked me to download the software. The software seemed to promote upgrades. When I tried to access the software it crashed my browser. I kept trying to make it work. No help from WD. I returned it too late for a refund. The first one they sold me was $45.00. The second one that the salesperson told me didn't require software was an additional $10.00. The second one did the exact same thing as the first. I have a $55.00 store credit with no other brand available at this time.
