No password protection

This is my second WD Passport and the first one was great but I outgrew it so I bought this one. WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS! I had to enter a password which I thought was for password protection but turns out it’s not. Seems there’s no way to easily add password protection to this WD model (or maybe not at all). I asked for help but the response I got was blah, blah, blah, passport, blah, blah, blah… go to this link to see how to MAYBE do what I asked. What’s the point of a device with personal information and files that you can’t password protect? If I hadn’t passed the 14 day limit, I’d return it but, instead, I’ll erase it and use it as a shiny paperweight. Thanks for nothing WD and Best Buy.

This item was purchased solely to back up pictures from my desktop and laptop computers while they were being repaired. Currently, it's of no use to me since I do not know how to get my files off the drive. I would have appreciated the Geek Squad installing what is on the drive back onto my computers.

I didn't realize that it doesn't plug in. I wonder what happens when the battery for it will no longer charge?? Had to do a lot of research on line to figure out how to back it up and if there was a program for it. Not extremely user friendly.

Very disappointing. We found out after buying it that the new version no longer has the function to allow regularly scheduled full backups, unlike our older Passport. The functionality has gotten worse. We expected improvements over time, not a decrease in usefulness.

I May not know exactly Best Buy’s policy for curbside pick up however I was never helped with putting the TVs in my vehicle I came with teenagers to put it in the truck and I was hoping that Best Buy would’ve assisted with securing the televisions I bought 2 75 inch television
