It was very challenging to set this up. It took me several hours and I wasn't sure if I did it correctly. The paper insert certainly didn't include directions. I used a combination of the website listed and YouTube. It seems to have worked????

Crashed once and i lost all the files on the drive

These do there job although still seems expensive for what it does.

The last couple of trips to Best Buy have been less than positive. I got the feeling that I was continuously being given an upsell ALL THE TIME. Had to put my computer in for repairs and was told I needed to purchase this to get information off computer and would be told if everything was ok. NEVER heard anything until repair center called to see if I would approval a $900+ repair bill. OF COURSE, I had no choice ... yes. I still do not know if my information was saved and STILL waiting on something OTHER THAN asking me to pay for something else. I am still in the 4 - 6 week window as was first told, but felt I would hear SOMETHING!!! I am not happy and will investigate other sources for my computer needs as soon as I get my computer back.

Backed up my old drive before installing a SSD drive. Took quite a long time but only using usb transfer

The cable gave me issues connecting to the device.

Great external memory solution. We are using it for family photos, so it doesn’t bog down our desktop.

Some Difficult to set with windows 10 After set it work good

This drive is difficult to install on a Mac Pro. Although the device was installed successfully, it would not import photos or files from my MAC to the external drive. I am a new MAC user, so perhaps an experience user might not have had such difficulty. However, I called Apple and they were not able transfer the files either. All the drivers were installed and there was no error message. Hence, we could not figure out the problem. Apple referred me back to the manufacturer of the device. I will phone them tomorrow. If I am able to transfer the files, I'll update this review and give it more stars. I used a different external drive for years and it worked perfectly. We'll see. Stay tuned.

It does not work with my PS4 so I never used before

It works, hold files but can not access dpf files.

Several problems with this portable HW drive. 1) There was no option to protect data with password as stated on package 2) it would not download or restore data. Possible we got a “lemon” but, based on the 1 we had would Not recommend

This thing stopped working almost immediately. I definitely wasted my money

This may be a great device but I find it difficult to access. I've also not been able to find much information to help me with this issue.

You were unsuccessful with recovering my external hard drive that seized. I paid over $1,000 for you to work on it but in the end, I still do not have my recovered files. The process also took a long time (6-8 weeks). So here I am, a couple months later, $1,000 poorer and still no recovered external hardrive.

this is probably such a minor fault on WD but no rubber feet on their latest hard drives! such a bummer. also, the most difficult hard drive I’ve ever used - had to partition it for my mac which isn’t a hard but annoying to do!
