Bought this external drive to back up my entire hard drive to protect against ransomware. It works beautifully with my Dell Studio running Windows 64 bit Vista Home Premium using a 2.0 USB port. I back up once a week (it's easy to automatically schedule) and disconnect it from my machine between backups. Connect/Disconnect works just like a regular thumb drive.
