Made the mistake of buying a like hard drive "pre-formatted" for XBOX. It only allowed 200GB of the 1TB. Bought this one and bam. worked instantly.

I have been buying wd hard drives since 96. This one has served me well so far no issues, no slow downs, its 3/4 full and still runs as fast as before.

Best value for the money. If you need extra storage you can move easily, I highly recommend this drive. Fast data transfer and good apps included.

Been using passport external drive for years but having this much memory makes it easy to back up several computers and have additional storage.

Does the job and is good to have for backing up computer

Plug and play. Did a total restore for my computer and doing weekly back ups. Using USB 3.0 port for back ups takes no time at all. Very happy with this item.

I use this device for my travel video and photography backups while on the road. Read/Write speeds for USB 3.0 are acceptable and have had no heat related issues.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Fast enough and works fine. Take it lots of places and works just fine every time. Hard to beat for the price.

I was in need of an external HD to back up documents for our small business. This product fits the bill quite nicely and isn't bulky or anything for taking places.

I reformatted it to work with my Mac. It works perfectly. The color makes it easy to distinguishable from my other hdd. I had it for some months now no problem.

I am I local PC tech and I always go with WD for external drives. They are dependable and affordable. Excellent choice in USB 3.0 external drives.

This product works very well at archiving all the files from my hard drive as well as other server locations. Accesses fast and installation Was pretty seamless.

I had my old computer files transferred to this unit. Will take a lot more data to fill this unit up.
