Just plug it in it works, no fancy work arounds. Also I was able to password protect the drive with little effort with the app that's included.

It does what it suppose to do. It holds all of my files, especially my graphics, with ease. Plug, load & go on about your business.

easy backup

I plugged it in and moved files with ease. Loaded the files on a new laptop and was up and running quick. Also, now I have a way to move data easily.

It gave me pretty fair write and read speeds, didn't corrupt any data. But, it gave out after being connected to a brand new PC. And I couldn't find a way to retrieve any of the data. Not sure if the device switch killed it, but it was alright while it lasted.

Extra quick storage Solution

Seems like life is moving so quickly forward and the desktops are outdated every year. This unit works as advertised and I have no issues.

Took only a few VERY small falls/hits and it doesnt work anymore. If your buying this, make sure to keep to keep it steady/accidently hit it.

Purchased for my 16yr old to free up space on his laptop. Plug & play makes it easy to use. Smaller than a cellphone for easy portability.

WD builds quality products, just be aware they can fail (had an earlier one fail). I'd suggest purchasing two and mirroring them (they're cheap). Overall I'm quite happy.
