Great way to back up my data on my MacBook Pro, reads and writes fast!

Easy to use and great storage capacity. Very reliable.

Very fast on my MacBook Pro with the m3pro chip. Holds enough storage for my needs. Professional photographers or videographers would be better suited for a higher capacity drive. Also had no problem reading on a dell running windows.

A great utility for anyone steeped in the Mac ecosystem or if you just have a iMac and need some extra storage or already a have a ton of space, but may (like my wife and her computer for work) need to make a back-up of your computer just to be extra safe nothing happens to all your oh sorry very important files. A no brainer purchase for many reasons and this WD drive was affordable, easy to use and reliable.

Great hard drive and delivers on the speed, however it has a soldered PCB. So if you plan on shucking, this isn't the drive for you. Most other drives have an adapter on them but SATA power and data is still available. This is not the case with this drive. This drive has a soldered on, single pcb so there is no access to the SATA power or data. Again, this is NOT the drive for taking out and putting in your other device unless it uses the USB port that you see on the outside of the enclosure. Other than that though, it's a great little drive with TONS of space!

It's pocket size and my first portable hard drive. It is wicked fast and easy to work.

High quality, very fast and efficient. I partitioned it, giving myself ample space for both a time machine backup for my Mac and storage space for my files. Easy to use for beginners! Other than not liking the preinstalled software, which you can delete easily, this is a very good device!

Great little hard drive! Packs a punch for sure. I will say though there are a few times it will randomly disconnect or lag but compared to all the pros, its not a big deal it definitely gets the job done.

Purchased this drive for only one purpose, to store backups of my iPhone and of my iPads. I wanted to have a local backup of my two devices just in case Apple’s cloud storage were to be “unavailable”. I have an iMac with limited free storage left, so I thought I could backup directly to this WD drive. Wrong! You have to first have enough storage on your computer’s hard drive, then run Apple’s backup program, then after it is done backing up go Apple’s file manager program hold down the alt key I believe and click on GO then LIBRARY and a couple of levels down you end up finding exactly where your backups are stored!! PAIN IN THE A##! Needless to say the file transfers fairly quickly onto the WD Passport drive and then you are able to once again go back into Apple’s backup program and this time you can choose to delete the backup off of your computer’s hard drive.

Easy to use and great product. Tons of storage at a great price

I bought this for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. She’s using this ext hard drive to backup her massive raw photos. It’s very fast and easy to use. Once it’s connected to her Mac on the first use, follow the online instructions to install. Then it’s plug and play each time thereafter. In fact it’s so good that she’s going to get second one.

I could not be happier to own this external hard drive when I bought my new MacBook Pro with USB-C connection. All of my other external hard drives do not have the USB-C connection in handy (I am already aware that I can buy an adapter to connect those drives to my new USB-C-enabled MacBook Pro) so I thought this would be a great asset for my new laptop. And it truly is!! Am very thrilled to have extra space, especially when I have hundreds of instructional videos that I made for my deaf students!

I am very happy with this product. I have so many pictures on my phone. I am very happy the sales person helped me with my purchase. Best Buy always gives you great customer service. I have been with Best Buy for many, many years and love to make all of my purchases there for tech products and TVs and appliances.

A Great external hard drive for Mac out of the box. User friendly, small in size with a 4TB capacity.

Great external HD. Fast, easy to use, and light. My wife and I had no problem moving files from multiple Macs onto this device.

I got this product after my LaCie gave up the ghost after only one year. I don't believe it was the LaCie's drive fault entire. I had two power hits back to back and it wasn't connected to a UPS. It was connected to a surge protector. Lot of good that did. Anyways, looking for a new backup drive, I researched the WD and this was a clear winner in my opinion. Easy to set up. Connected with Time Machine (have a 2017 iMac) and off it went. It works great. I like the security features on it on it as well. Well done, Western Digital. I'll buy another from one you in a heartbeat. PS. I have a UPS now and will be reviewing that shortly.
