Very small so great to take with you on business trips. Wish the cord was a little longer but it’s light enough that it doesn’t cause issues hanging from my surface pro.

As an SSD drive, it is very convenient, and I was able to empty an entire bulky HDD external drive onto it with ease. I'm thinking of getting two or three more in order to keep different types of content. I could literally keep them all in the WD case and stick them into a travel bag.

I needed to replace my very old outdated external hard drive, I decided if I was going to purchase a new one I might as well go for a really good one. This doesn't disappoint! Compared to my dinosaur, this is small, light weight, runs fast, and I dont have to worry about accidentally dropping it! I also live that it has a TYPE C cord. I upgraded my laptop recently and it has more ports for TYPE C connections. The only downside is that even with 50% discount it still is expensive but overall just wonderful and glad I purchased. *I would like to mention though that the speed is equivalent to 3.1 gen 1, NOT gen 2.

The WD - My Passport SSD is a superb product. It is compact, fast, and has USB-C connectivity. It is very straightforward and easy to use. I use it as a Time Machine Backup for a MacBook Pro and couldn't be more pleased. I like the fact that it is an SSD so that it has less moving parts and I trust it will be more reliable than my previous backup drive. I highly recommend it, especially if you can get it on sale.

I purchased this portable SSD portable storage drive because I needed more storage for storing video files and as a second drive for video editing. This drive works great! I transferred a large file from my computer to the new drive and it only took me 5 mins to transfer. I had just recently transferred that same file to a USB hard drive and it took me nearly 30 mins to transfer. I also really like that this drive is very small and light, yet still can still hold 1 TB of data. I highly recommend.

Contains cable for both USB-C and USB-A. Small and light, just a bit bigger than a thumb drive. Very portable. Works reliably. Probably works faster through a USB-C, though my older laptop is USB-A. Using it as backup drive with Carbon Copy Cloner backup software.

prices of SSD have come down so much that it essentially makes a spinning hard drive obsolete and this portable drive is a perfect example. The size factor is great very thin and light and can easily fit in a pocket. I'm only using a USB3.0 connection so I get only around 277Mb/s transfer rates not the advertised 540 but still its a whole lot faster then a spinning disk. Its silent and doesn't get too warm when transferring large files. I would highly recommend this as a backup drive.

Really cannot stress how convenient and fast this drive is. Once you go SSD you can't really go back. It's compact, lightweight and really just a handy storage to have, especially if you need a USB C connection.

Great drive purchased for my iMac time machine backups. Fast, easy install and plenty of room. Hoping reliability proves over time, being an SSD, it will be worth the price.

This is a very fast little drive. While I would consider spending a little more for a more... robust feeling product, it's hard to go wrong with this little guy. It is small, extremely light (which makes it feel cheap) and using USB-C connections, it is quite fast. I have many external HDD's and it is hard going back to using them after the speed this unit displays. Can't speak to durability as it is less than a month since I've had it, but if it doesn't break, then I will consider this a good investment.

I am only buying SSD for external - portable - storage. I don't worry about travelling and it takes up almost no space. I buy name brands when I find a deal at reputable outlets. So far they all hold up well. SSD is fast, and I move lots of big image and video files. I have 5 SSD drives so far. 3@1 TB and 2@ 500 GB. When they fill up I transfer data to larger drives at home that do not travel.

Didn't care for it's very special cable only around four inches long. Also operation causes it's small size to warm up quite a bit, though this may affect it's operating speed - It is fast and quiet.

I bought this external SSD drive to use with my laptop and store my photographs for Adobe Lightroom. The drive is small and sleek and unobtrusive plugged into my laptop. It is fast, but occasionally some hesitation is evident. However, I think it is my system more so than the drive. They are expensive, but worth the dollars when speed is needed.

I do a lot of work on the road and needed a reliable external hard drive. I had heard that an SSD hard drive was the way to go since I do travel (less moving parts to break internally), and have always had good luck with WD hard drives. So far so good! I like that it's small and super portable and also love that it came with a USB adapter since my computer doesn't have a USB C port.

The 1TB external USB 3.1 Gen 2 portable SSD is tiny enough to put in your shirt or coat pocket and works seamlessly with my Lenovo Yoga 9i laptop. Pleasantly surprised by how small and light this device is. Helps me keep clutter off the laptop's hard drive allowing the Lenovo Yoga 9i retain the speedy performance of a new computer.
