They are made with an aluminum case, rather than cheap plastic like my older one.

Make sure to format it first, it’ll try to get you to download some sketch program, don’t do it, it doesn’t need it to work.

For instance today I had to use disk utility first aid to be able to return it to normal functionality. If it happens again it will have to go. My system is Sequoia 15.5 which is the latest upgrade.

In order to use the drive for macOS you can reformat the drive with macOS supported HFS+J file system by using this link: https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/8200/ Please be informed that reformatting is a data destructive process, please backup the data from the drive before reformatting it.
