Works great for added storage for the xboxonex, which is what we used it for.

For the price and size, its a great back up solution. Just plug the usb c port to your phone, grant it access and your off! And when im done, i can put it on my nas drive for backups. Comes with a usb 3 to usb c dongle. A definite buy

Using two of these for backups. The most interesting being as the time machine backup for a MacBook Pro. Thus far has been very good.
I'd give it five stars, but I haven't had opportunity to drive it through a larger recovery.
I would recommend it for personal backups or extra storage on a machine with little built in.

Great external HD! It's also the perfect size for the average square shaped sticker. Ridiculous as it seems, that was important to me...maybe it will be to you as well?

I'm not much at technical stuff, and ended up using my Geek Squad total tech service to help me set up my backup to my new WD - My Passport Ultra 2 TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive. Remotely he had to try a couple times to get it set up the way I wanted. Once set up, it works great. It is slower at backing up than my SSD External Drive. I opted for this Hard Drive (HD) because I update my excel spreadsheets multiple times daily and the description sounded like SSD may not last as long with constant multiple updates. But I could be wrong.
I did learn my lesson when traveling not to take my HD after taking my WD - My Passport Ultra 1 TB. The cord disconnected from my laptop and dropped 3 feet to the floor. I can no longer access anything from it. So on trips I now backup just the info I need to a SSD USB instead. I do not use any cloud function. If I read correctly, only the first year is free.
