This product saved my files, it was a good purchase. I am glad I have it.

I purchased this to do Time Machine backups on my MacBook Air running MacOS Ventura. When set up for backups, Time Machine formatted it APFS. The drive works, but will not spin down and shut off when ejected. Even after disappearing from Finder, there is disk activity on the drive and the LED is blinking. Neither WD nor Apple has a clue but if I reformat it as MacOS Extended I can copy files to and from it and it ejects every time without a problem. You cannot use MacOS Extended for Time Machine. It must be an APFS volume.

I typically buy western digital for storage devices. The oldest is 500GB, and over 15 years old, it still works. Bought this for the USB-c connectivity. Hope it hold up like the other 5 WD products i have.

Loving this product. Unfortunately lost my other storage due to a power outage and was not able to recover any data, and now having to start over.

So far it is doing a great job. It also has the same cord as my toshiba

This device is fast for file transfer. It has a good capacity. I am not convinced that it was worth the higher cost compared to other similarly sized WD passports. The front looks like metal, but mostly the device is plastic.

So far this unit is working just fine and would recommend this to anyone looking to expand their memory range.

Seagate and other brands have let me down in the past but this WD hdd external storage device allows me to play back hd content including VR (8k) content.
