||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed an external drive for backups, and this is perfect. I set it for daily backups, and just leave it plugged in, and set my desktop to shut it off when in sleep mode. It gives you many options.

Western Digital customer service said it was probably a dead drive. So I returned it to Best Buy. They didn’t ask if I wanted to exchange it for another one, which I guess was a good thing because they didn’t have another one in stock. So I bought a different model of WD and it works fine.
