I have been using this drive for a couple of weeks and could not be happier. I chose a USB-C drive because that is the best version, and USB-C is the future. Two compact laptops I bought recently do not even have full size USB-A ports. It does come with a USB-A to USB-C adapter in the box. This drive is Plug and Play so as soon as I plugged it in, Windows configured it and recognized it as an external drive. It comes with WD backup and security software installed, but it is not necessary to use it. I chose this drive because it supports encryption, but I decided not to use it and am using it as an external drive at this time. I used the native Windows Backup up function in settings and it worked flawlessly. I was able to backup about 1 GB from my laptop in about 1 hour using a USB 3.0 port. This hard drive is great and if you get it you can't go wrong.

On top of it all, it’s amazing, small, light, and has blazing transfer speed. The 4 TB means I can carry files and thousands of huge photos to class!

The storage space is such a big capacity for a very small compact device.

This is a memory dense backup system which has additional apps and features. There is more than enough space for my three machines. The only downside was that its own backup application failed to recognize it as connected to one of my laptops. Since I was only testing this application, it was a moot issue. My regular backup program read this just fine. It uses a USB C to USB C cable, included, which is still a bit unusual, but it works just fine. I had been using a USB C to serial adapter with my @Tb WD backup so I was a bit surprised at the change, but it seems not to have affected the upload speeds.

I put all my photos from my HP laptop on this so I won't lose them and have more memory. Very easy to use.

Great product works well with music server. Would recomend to anyone for any purpose have older one on laptop for extea capacity

Great for storage of large files, using mine for videos.

Overall this external hard drive is easy to use and reliable. This is my 2nd one. The only issue was sthe initial startup. That problem: it noticeably bogged the computer down. So bad that the keyboard was basically useless. Response from the system itself was just plain horrible. To correct the lack of performance: a quick formatting of the drive and performance was what it was intended to be. I installed the basic backup program and uninstalled everything else. The reason: the drive was intended for back up purposes only. being able to include a remote site is good; however, not what I needed. Also, the same initial start up issues experienced with the 8gb quick store device: it also required a quick formatting and now it and the 4tb external drive work find. If you need storage, these drives are great once properly set up, wich for me: quick format: no more lags at all.

I had purchased a different one previously (Seagate) & it was a pain to format. Finally got it working & then it stopped. Bought this Passport, plugged it in my computer & that was it. Works perfectly. I recommend it & if i ever need another, it would be another Passport.

This W My Passport Ultra TB External hard drive is going to store all the photos I am scanning for my children and grandchildren to have access to after I’m gone. I’ve also moved all the photos that have been on my MacBook to the drive so that I have moe memory now on the laptop.

Bought this to act as a back up to my back up drive. I didn't want to rely on a cloud back up in case I lost internet connection. This drive has performed perfectly. I definitely recommend it.

Looking forward to using the external hard drive for additional storage. It should help to keep my computer freed up from storing too many documents, pictures, and files. Had a WD - external drive previously and it works great so was confident in purchasing a second device.
