Hard drive works great. It has been running 24 hours straight since I purchased. Subtle noise, but annoying but otherwise fine.

A little slow to spin up. A little noisy at first. Other than that, I have no other issues. Speed is good. Works great with my NAS. Tons of space. I’ve always trusted WD drives.

I have been using WD drives for over 15 years with no issues. Therefore, I was not surprised to find that this 18 TB drive is an excellent drive. However, the first drive I received was defective and could not be formatted, which caused Windows Explorer to freeze. The second drive I received was without fault and now have it running in my home NAS.

I am using my 18TB WD Red Pro as a local backup repository for my PC. It replaces a smaller HDD that was doing a good job but was getting to be too small. So far, it's been doing a fine job, I've had no issues with it. I installed it in a previously vacant slot in a multi-drive external HDD enclosure without any problems.

I’ve used WD hard drives for years and they’ve all proved to be very reliable. I needed more space in my NAS so upgraded my WD 10tb drive to this 18tb drive. I’ve been using it for a several weeks now and so far it’s working great! Best thing is I was able to save a little money by picking it up at a good sale price!

I bought 2 of these for my computer. I bought 1 last year and that one also still works like a charm. The 2 drives I bought this year works great without any issues. These 2 drives were manufactured in 2024 of December. Takes a bit to spin up once powered on but works flawlessly with zero issues. Copying transfer speed is around 150-190mbps. Will be buying another 1 this weekend!

I have been running this drive for video editing and I am very satisfied with it's performance. I have used almost all of it's capacity so I may need to add another one.

This was an excellent price for a drive that's on the cutting edge of capacity. Easy to install and it came right up with no issues.

Good NAS grade drive, just wish storage at this tier was cheaper when you need to build out a NAS with 4+ drives - gets expensive fast

I had to order this 18TB drive 3 times before I actually received the 18 TB size. Twice I received an 8TB drive inside the 18TB box. The WD seal was intact but on my second time opening of the WD box I noted that it appeared someone had opened the 18TB box from the bottom as the tab was sligtly bent and replaced the drive with an 8TB drive. Both 8TB drives were sealed in anti static bags. WD does not seal both ends of the device box but they should. It was frustrating wasting so much time returning the drives and ordering a new one. Best Buy at Chesapeake Square in Virginia was very helpful and expedited my last and final attempt at ordering the 18TB drive. For the record I recorded myself opening the second shipment from Best Buy so that they didnt blame me for the deception. I mean there's no way it could happen twice right?

Ive bought several of these WD Red Pro drives over the years and they handle what i need at speeds that get the job done

I like this drive its relatively fast but it is noisy. This doesent bother me.

Great drive. Large storage space, reliable, quick and quiet.

My second WD Red 18TB, everything is fine, but it makes a lot of noise, which is normal. I hope it lasts for many years in my DIY NAS.

Great product at a reasonable price. There were not Black Fiday prices for a 18 TB prices for a red pro.So i settled for this using a BB visa cc fir 5 % in rewards.

purchased 4 of these drives, 2 in my Synology 218+, 2 for backup on my 918+ and going to purchase 2 more shortly... Would I recommend...You bet, ill have 6 total soon.
