Whirlpool Top Load washer is working good. It is a combination of 2 in 1 options. It can be used without agitator which gives more space to wash bulky clothes like blanket. Agitator is easy to remove and easy to put back in.

Great large capacity washer. The removable agitator seems like a good feature, but in our first month of use, we haven’t had a need to remove it. It would be nice if it showed remaining time left in the cycle.

I like the spacious basket, the option to use or remove the agitator, and sensor that automatically adjusts the water level based on the amount of items in the washer. I also like that the washer automatically starts the wash cycle after completing the soak cycle. I do not like that there is no indicator to identify remaining time left in the wash cycle. Also, would have loved to have the load and go feature on this washer and the scrub brush. All features only offered on the larger size washer.

Did Whirlpool Forget Their Decades of Knowledge?

I had owned a matched Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer for around ten years before the washer crapped out (dryer is still running fine). The replacement Whirlpool washer lasted maybe three years. the replacement to the replacement washer, which I'm reviewing here, has lasted only eight months.
Hey, I really want to like Whirlpool, being U.S. made and all, but they are making it really, really hard. I mean, it's not like Whirlpool is new to the washing machine business. It's not like washer electronics are super advanced. And it's not like designing for quality and reliability is a new concept to sophisticated American manufacturers.
But from my recent experience, and judging from others' complaints, how can an experienced manufacturer on something relatively simple as a washing machine have worse than even 3 sigma reliability for the machine overall? There should be no excuse for not attaining this.
So am I forced to go to LG or some other manufacture who has got it together? Like I said, I want to be proud of buying, having, and recommending a Whirlpool product.
I agree with most other viewers that this machine does a great job of getting clothes clean. That's truly amazing, as scant few other clothes washers can accomplish this feat.
However, after about eight months of producing astoundingly clean clothing, it malfunctioned. Specifically, one day, it ran through the wash cycle, but then stopped after tub filled for the rinse cycle. As much as I like my clothes to be rinsed thoroughly, rinsing forever seemed a bit excessive.
Lacking any apparent error message capability on the display to de-code, the solution was obviously to unplug the machine, resetting the electronics, and have another go. That seemed to work.
On the plus side, my load got really super clean, unbelievably clean, I mean clean like never before seen in history. On the down side, it failed again a few loads later. But I unplugged and re-set the electronics again, and once again I was rewarded with a load of laundry that was so exceedingly clean I just had to show my neighbor. My neighbor feinted, and I said, "Right?"
Anyway, I got a little tired of having to reset the electronics
by hand, so I called Whirlpool. Fortunately the machine was still within the warranty window of one year.
Whirlpool, after hearing my description of the problem, said they'd have a local third party repair shop get on it right away, in about 2.5 weeks. That's whether you've opted for the extended warranty or not, in case you are wondering.
I can see how this is going to go. The tech comes out, and this problem doesn't happen. A month later, the problem is diagnosed, but parts are needed. A month after it MIGHT be fixed. Or it has to be replaced.
When it was working, my only complaints were extreme noise when filling with water (Whirlpool, come on, you aren't nubes at this), and a lid that became creaky the last few inches of travel before closing.

Our clothes have never been more clean, especially with the center agitator, removable at that. The removable agitator has helped with washing big bed sheets or thick blankets, even washable rugs.

Love the size of the tub-X-Large. I’m able to consolidate 2 medium size loads into one. Not too happy with the normal amount of water but the good thing is I can add additional water if I need to. 2nd rinse for dark clothes is another + as far as I’m concerned.

Working great! Love this Whirlpool washer. I love the feature of removing the agitator if desired. I do use the agitator with sheets as it keeps them from becoming one large bubble in the center but it works great for most other loads with the agitator removed. Working great! Not as loud as my previous older model with agitator. Definitely balances the loads well compared to my past model.

Good machine, gets clothes clean but, is a bit loud. Had to replace my 33 year old Whirlpool set. I'm pretty sure this set will not last 33 years. Strange getting used to it 'sensing' the water level. Make sure you price shop as BB will price match. We saved $290 by doing so.

Good Machine, Really needs an Operation Manual

Machine appears to be working very well. It doesn't get a fifth star because there is no operation manual. The only on line "Owners Manual" is actually an instillation and Quick Start guide. Even calling their service center they had no additional information specific to the machine and only offered some generic information for which cycle to use for different wash loads. Most glaringly, they offered no information about the best use of the removable agitator. I had to search to find operation manuals from comparable washers to get information on the proper use of the machine.

I had this washer for 1 year and 3 months when it got stuck on the spin cycle and started leaking fluid. It was diagnosed with a bad capacitor and a bad control panel. Whirlpool wouldn't cover the parts since it wasnt under warranty and said they would offer 20% off a new Whirlpool. Definitely not worth the money!

Great option to be able to remove the agitator.
The washer takes quite a long time to run; shortest cycle is 45 minutes long.
Wish the top surface was flat, not curved, to set laundry on when closed.

Deep fill doesnt mean the water goes to the top of the washer only top of the load. I still have to pause and dunk/swoosh load around. Love the removable agitater. I just with the wings were longer and water to the top for maximum cleaning power.
